I'm still having times where live files just won't delete. I looked in the recording log, and foudn this:

3/8/2005 9:07:09 AM.062 VERBOSE [40] Checking if GB-PVR can remove: C:\captv_studio\Live\American Morning_1_20050308_07001000.mpg

It just repeats over and over (every few min or so) on the program that won't delete, and new instances just pile up behind it.

I don't see any error in other logs.
Is there a way/place to find out wher

the file might be in use by something, eg virus scanner, or even windows (win xp can be annoying with trying to delete files). i had a few recordings i went to delete, "recordings" deleted them from the list but they werent deleted, i had to restart to delete them.

I don't have antiV, and I've tried to think of something else. I wish there was an answer to that in the log, saying why it couldn't/can't.

It seems to do it all the time now.

Is there a command that could be added to postprocessing.bat to have it just clean that when you close? Or something similar? It's not like you can (well, you can, manually) go back to a program and watch that portion from the guide, so keeping it saved for any time seems pointless.

What may be most efficient would be if each instance cleaned itself up. I made this temp file, you didn't record, you're done, so I'll delete that specific instance.

The reason for this would be when the system finds a file it can't delete, it doesn't hang the entire cache of files, since it can't get past the first one to delete.

Yes, thats the idea and what it's currently trying to do.

For some reason one of your files is in use, so its assuming you're paused or still watching this file. All newer files are assumed to be part of the pause buffer, so cant be deleted.

What type of client are you running - VMR7/9/Overlay/MVP/XCARD/PVR350? Do you have FFDShow installed?

I know I had asked about that before, and you had told me it was just a batch delete and why it would hang. I'm glad you're making it more efficent.

VM9 9
WinTV PVR 150-PCI
FFDShow (but the setting to use in CP is off)
Dscaler
Intervideo Decoders
Preview off

I'm trying to think of anything else. Is there a place to see why it can't? When I restart, I see the response when it can and does delete.

It's not hanging. Its purposefully not deleting that file, or any of the new ones, because it thinks they are part of the pause buffer. Something like FFDShow is stopping playback from shutting down properly, so the file is left in an 'in-use' state.

Yes, I tried ot delete manually w/ program on, and it won't let go.

I'm willing to poke around on my end. Where could I look for that?

I'm not really sure.

If you want to know what components are being used in the playback graph, you could look in GBPVR.exe-native.log.
