I move my tuners to another PC.
Everything went fine and the other PC NextPVR is working fine.

On the old PC, acting as a PC Clients works fine also, Device status is showing the other PC tuners status.

However, NRecord.exe on the old PC is still trying to record ?
What else is needed to disable NRecord.exe on the old pc?

I disabled the Act as client PC, restart NextPVR,
then remove all tuners, I also terminate all NdigitalHost.exe
I then remove all *recording*xml file
however all recordings are still there!

looks like I will will not run NextPvr -emptydb to remove all recording and empty npvr.db3
because I wanna keep the previous recordings until I see them.

In the end I deleted all Recurring Recordings, just a lot of mouse clicks!

Do I need to remove the plugins on the client PC? No, if you delete the plugings the UI wont work fine on the clients. However the System plugin look at the old PC disk instead of the remote one so I guess running Update EPG on the old PC will still run the update on the old pc and not on the other PC having the tuners.

The server NextPVR (the one with the tuners) and any client all use a single database ... the database on the server. You can use Export Recording followed by Import Recordings to transfer database entries from the database on the client to the database on the server ... you will need to temporarily switch off client mode on the client so that the client connects to its local database to do the export ... you will need to edit the export recording .xml file to change the folder location of the recording files.

Enabling client mode does not disable nrecord.exe and the recording service will still run on the client ... but since it is doing nothing the recording service uses no resources on the client and can be left to spin its wheels ... or you can fiddle about in Computer Management --> Services to stop it from starting after each boot.

It looks like NRecord is still needed on the client PC:

Code:
2014-07-11 13:33:20.868    [DEBUG][15]    CLIENT-READ: 169200 bytes from offset 2409219248 (file length: 7140747224)
2014-07-11 13:33:20.868    [DEBUG][15]    RollingFile.Seek(2409219248)
2014-07-11 13:33:20.868    [DEBUG][15]    about to read 169200 from location 2409219248  (current length = 7140747224)
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    READ: data read, about to send
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    READ:@about to send 169200 bytes, from offset 2409219248
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    READ: complete
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    CLIENT-READ: 169200 bytes from offset 2409388448 (file length: 7140747224)
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    RollingFile.Seek(2409388448)
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    about to read 169200 from location 2409388448  (current length = 7140747224)
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    READ: data read, about to send
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    READ:@about to send 169200 bytes, from offset 2409388448
2014-07-11 13:33:20.884    [DEBUG][15]    READ: complete

In conclusion, after removing all tuners devices, NDigitalHost no longer start on the client PC.
and after deleting the recurring recordings, the client PC doesn't try to record anything.

Still the configuration has to be modified to uncheck Auto Update EPG and Block Shutdown while recording on the old PC.

Now thing are running smoothly.
