well yes, that is the the file it calls to initiate an EPG data download. some people just have their UpdateEPG.bat call some other batch file in another directory.
the reference in config.xml just tells it what .xml file to read first the next time you go to map channels. if you had given your xmltv file the same name and put it in the same location, it might have worked without remapping... it depends on whether MC2XML and XMLTV output the channel id info that NPVR matches on in the exact same way.
Okay, I just blew through that last post without confirming anything beyond my actual test. The only thing is that my channel mapping was hard-coded to the C:/MC2XML folder before, so I wanted to at least make that more correct. Now it is pointing to the C:/XMLTV folder. If I had the foresight I could have soft-coded it as you suggest.
One last thing, the total number of days for SD has been reported to be 13. I took that as 13 days into the future, but what it appears to be is a total value of 13 days, including the offset. I am assuming that to be the case since I put in 15 days, and then offset it with -2, and it has varied between 11 days or 12 days into the future so far, and respectively 2 or 1 day in the past.
I just confirmed that a second time on my other computer. I then removed the offset switch completely and reran it with just the 15 days parameter, and it went 13 days into the future, but not at all into the past.
