picture in picture swap - sound lost

Hi
Unfortunately I had to rebuild my media PC.
Got everything working and had a play with the picture in picture... with a PIP on the screen I then hit "swap", pictures swapped but sound vanished.
I can't get the sound back, tried going through the codecs and back to my previous working ones, rebooted, reinstalled NPVR over the current.

No sound comes through at all from NPVR, when playing anything that makes a sound, tv, video music.

So what did the "swap" do? and how do I get it back?

I haven't tested this PIP swap in years, but I just tried and have the correct audio after the swap.

You'll probably need to post the logs showing one of your attempts.

Hi Sub

I have attached the zipped logs, I used the button on the settings dialog so should have what you need.

I did the following just prior to zipping the logs:
Played an existing recording - no sound there.
Watched BBC1 - no sound there either.
Selected PIP C4 - and swapped channels. Still no sound.

I know the sound is connected as I can play a video not within npvr and get sound.

Also, completely unrelated, I'm not getting any xmltv guide populated, unless I kick it of via the settings updateEPG.

I'll give it a try at the weekend. I'm working away so can't play with it at the moment. However I had to set it to the AVAMP as it connects to the NVidia HDMI.

I tried putting the Audio Renderer to Default and it didn't work. I tried some of the other renderers but still no sound. When changing renderer I restarted npvr but should I have restarted the recording service as well?

I think I know what it is. Try setting <VolumeControl>internal</VolumeControl> in your config.xml. Yours will probably be 'none'.

Great - it works. First attempt failed as I made a typo. Second attempt only got sound once i'd set renderer back to NVidia AMP, as expected.
However swap in picture in picture made sound vanish again, volumeControl still set as internal but this time a restart got it working.
