So I ran into a problem last night.

When I ran gbpvr I saw the windows installer start up and do somethings before gbpvr came up. When it did the EPG was deleted and all of the ScheduledRecordings were gone.

Has anyone seen this? I am not running the latest release yet. I will post the release number when I get home.

On a side note for sub.

On one of my development machines without a capture source in the latest versions I can not add one anymore.

I get an exception with

System.ArgumentException: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: "BDA Recording Plugin" Key being added: "BDA Recording Plugin"
at System.Collections.Hashtable.Insert(Object key, Object nvalue, Boolean add)
at System.Collections.Hashtable.Add(Object key, Object value)

I think you've somehow ended up with GBPVRBackendCommon.dll in your plugins directory. It shouldn't be there.

Should GBPVRPublic.dll be in the plug-in directory?

I had that problem 2 nights ago, exactly the same symptoms (including the installer start up) and error string. It happened straight after I installed the latest Guide2J plugin. It could be coincidence but it was the only change I made. Luckily I take a backup of the whole directory before I make any changes so I can restore it.

I've just looked at the Guide2J zip file and it doesn't have that file in it at all (I know that it's part of the main install).

I have to admit that I do like Guide2J very much but it does seem to give me "wife acceptance factor" WAF issues. It keeps doing unexpected things like when moving the cursor off the side of the page sometimes it doesn't scroll, sometimes it just crashes. I need to take the time to do some error logging and report back on this, maybe this weekend.

mine was not related to guide2j so I think it was coincidence. I wonder if the installer has any logs that we can look at to see what it thinks it is doing?

I think it is coincidence........

I just thought I'de give Guide2J another go. So I thought I would backup my gbpvr directory. I went to stop the recording service in order to backup the gbpvr directory and it started the installer application. Luckily I didn't lose any config settings this time but this was in the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log.

09/04/2005 08:44:09.984 INFO [710] GB-PVR Recording Service stopping
09/04/2005 08:44:10.187 INFO [29] RecordingManager has been signalled to shutdown

09/04/2005 08:44:12.812 INFO [672] Finalize called

I do have the new webserver installed if this makes a difference. Would the installer be called if it detects something "different" with the web server?
