How do I add new channels to xmltv using zap2xml?

I used zap2xml to get the latest xmltv update that I've been using for at least 5 years, and prior to that I used epg collector. I've been using npvr v.5 for more than a year. Everything was hunky dorey until this week, when suddenly epg update didn't work. I tried to fix it, but then lost localhost, so I reinstalled and re-setup everything, and now it works. But the new channels that appeared aren't giving the correct programming.

A poster on this forum implied that the problem is in the xmltv file, and the new channel numbers don't appear in it. But I don't know how to fix it, so I need help. Do I need some other software to re-establish the xmltv file with all the channels selected? Is it as easy as deleting the xmltv file and rerunning zap2xml? What am I missing? I've searched the forum and wiki, but found nothing.

Check you mapping on Settings Channels and click the wrench, XMLTV automapping is not always 100%.

As Martin says ... Check that the channel in NextPVR is correctly mapped to a channel in the .xml file ... The channel names used in the .xml file might be different to the names in the broadcast stream that are used by NextPVR ... For example, XYZ-9 and XYZ-Nine ... See ... Where does it get the mapping list? When I reach channel 11.5, there should be a KHOUDT5, but it's not on the list. How is the list generated?

Yes, I see the mapping now, but new channels are not on the list. Where does that list come from?

It comes from your zap2xml file. I am dropping out of this thread though, I've already explained why this isn't worth my time.

I discovered my problem, apparently when zap2xml is run, there is something in it that only gets data from the "favorite" channels (the stars are checked). When the epg update is run with no xmltv file, it generates the file with only the favorite channels. It took me awhile to find this out.
