My DVR has been running Win 7 forever and using NextPVR v4. I finally got around to upgrading to Windows 10, but now I have a weird audio issue where anything recorded through NextPVR has super low audio. (even playing shows that were recorded before I upgraded the OS) I don't have this issue with any other files outside of the program.

Anyway, I didn't even realize there was a v5 as I never got a ding in my settings telling me there was an update. I'm guessing my audio issue is because I need to upgrade to v5, but I have a couple questions first.

On this page:
https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/upd...on-Windows

It says that after installing v5, to copy a couple files over from the v4 installation, then change the port number so there isn't a conflict.

Would I still need v4 installed to run v5? Could I just uninstall v4 first before loading up v5, then I wouldn't have to change the port and all that?

A side note, I also want to update the LAV decorder files, but not sure where they're located. How do I found those?

Thanks for the help!

NextPVR is now at v6. No you don't need v4 but because the upgrade may not work as expected, depending on the tuner configuration you don't want to uninstall it right away. Rather than mucking with the ports, just disable the v4 service "NPVR Recording Service" from the Windows Services app. The new one is called "NextPVR Service"

There is a link to the LAV decoders in NextPVR.exe, plus the NextPVR wiki takes you to the the decoders page sub set up http://www.nextpvr.com/decoders.html The LAV link is a bit hidden on that page so the direct link is here. https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases You want to 32 bit version even if your OS is 64 bit.

Thank you for the quick reply! I'm so out of the loop I didn't even realize v6 was here, oy.

Follow up question. I installed v6 and loaded it. I went into settings and selected "Devices and Channels", and now it's trying to get me to log into a browser window with a localhost url with the port number. What do I enter for username/pw and why is this a thing?

admin/password are the defaults. This information is readily available on the forum search and the wiki and sub likes the idea of having this bit of a nuisance, not sure why. If you click remember me on this device you don't have to re-enter it.

I tried admin/password but it says login failed. Also tried Admin and reloaded page.

Nevermind, I figured it out. Wish there was a "forget password" feature. I obviously set it up earlier under v4 and forgot.

Annnnd something messed up. I was in there, everything was fine. I closed the browser down and came back to it and found that it didn't save my username/password, so I entered them back in and now it's giving me a failed login again despite it being the exact one I got in with the last time. No idea what I did to screw this up. IS there a reset option for user/pw?

Thanks again! On a side note, updating to v6 and the LAV codecs did nothing for my low audio issue. I'll investigate further tomorrow.
