I have encountered a crash bug for the following setup:
* GBPVR 09112b
* Twinhan DVB-T
* Cyberlink PowerDVD v4, and Cyberlink PowerDVD v6.
* Windows XP
* Via EPIA M10000
* AutoGK (Gordian Knot) latest stable.

I have setup Cyberlink as my mpeg encoder, BDA recording plugin for Twinhan, Bleb (UK) source and no channel changer. When I press "map digital channels to EPG channels" I get a sequence of errors:

1. "You will not be able ot record or timeshift live TV until you install Cyberlink... MPEG2 multiplexer"...
2. Microsoft Visual Studio C++ Debug Library, Debug assertion failed. Program config.exe, file: Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\atlmfc\include\atlcomcli.h, line 150. Expression p!=0.
3. ... then a string of uncaught exceptions and a crash on the way out.

Please advise.

You cant ignore this error. You must install one of these mux filters to solve these problems you describe. I recommend the Cyberlink muliplexer v5.0.0.727 or later. Use the search button to find where you can get it.

Does this not come with Cyberlink PowerDVD version 4 or version 6?

Secondly, it is still a crash bug because it does *not* warn me gracefully at all.

No. As I said above, use the search button to find where you can get it.

So? There is lots of places it just crashes. If I had paying customers, and was trying produce a finely polished application with no flaws, then I might be more concerned. Big Grin

The warning was the "You will not be able ot record or timeshift live TV until you install Cyberlink... MPEG2 multiplexer" message. The error that happens soon after is handled more gracefully in the next release.

Is there a trick to getting mpgmux.ax installed? Where should it go?

I got it from a driver pack for the FlyDVB-T and copied it to first c:\windows\system32 (which didn't work), then to the root program files directory for gbp-pvr (which also didn't work). I see no difference at all in behaviour so I suspect I may have done something daft.

I will shortly be trying powervcr which apparently is another approach to getting it installed.

I just installed PowerVCR II, and the program got a tad further before crashing. Now I see a screen with scanning involved, but then get the same assertion error.

I think PowerVCR uses an old version of mpgmux.ax, so you probably want to uninstall that.

Copy the FlyDVB-T mpgmux.ax file to c:\windows\system32\, then run

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpgmux.ax

I suspect you'll still get the same error though, so you may need to attach your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files.

I just discovered the version of mpgmux.ax that comes with powervcr2 is 3.00.something.... I copied the newer v5.00.something into the powervcr2 directory and go back to the original assert failure. Put in version three and I get as far as the scan page before it dies.

config.exe.log files attached. Also tried registering the mpgmux.ax version 5 file manually, to no avail.

Cheers,

The following error message in you logs is the likely cause:

07:52:05.245 ERROR Failed to add Network Provider to the graph

Unfortunately I've not seen this error before, and dont know what causes it. Have you ran any other BDA apps to confirm you set up is fully working (if so, what apps)? It sounds like its missing a couple of vital components.
