I am really pleased with my setup and trying to fine tune it now. One issue I have is with the quality of JPEGs displayed via the MVP. I realise this is not a GBPVR or My Pictures issue as they are poor using the vanilla software.
One approach I take is to convert a collection of photos to MPEG2 using Pinnacle 9, importing each image onto the video track and applying transitions between each image. The resulting movie saved as MPEG2 played using Video Library looks fantastic on the MVP. The only issue is one of disc space for the MPEG2 files compared to the original JPEGs.
It would be good if a plug-in could be developed that allowed a user to select a subset of images and convert them into MPEG2 on the fly, display the results as a movie and then remove the file. I have been looking around for suitable components that could be used to do this TMPGEnc looks like it could be used to convert AVI files to MPEG2 but I cannot find any open source windows software that can do the JPEG to AVI bit.
I probably should have posted this in one of the other forums but it is really an MVP annoyance only. Has anyone else come up with any other solutions to this issue?
