Does anyone else have this problem: When after playing one file perfectly I stop it and go to start a second file and I just get a black screen. It looks like the file is playing but nothing shows up on the screen. I have to exit gb and restart the recording service. I'm using the 350pvr for my output and recording at the same time.

Other then that gb is wonderful!

Which version of GBPVR are you using?

Cheers,

17 but I also had the problem in 16.... It doesn't happen everytime... but at least once or twice a night. Always when I'm starting to watch a new file and recording something at the same time. I have to stop the service... rename the file which was being recorded so when I restart the service it doesn't get over writen. Once I restart the service everything is O.k. for a while...

Thanks...

When you next have the problem occur you could email me you GBPVR.exe.log and GBPVR.exe-native.log (and a brief note, because I get too many emails). These may contain some clues.

What sort of motherboard do you have? The PVR350 cards seem to be rather choosey as to which motherboards they'll work reliably with.

I have had this problem or a similar problem all along. When GBPVR is started and I play a harddisk stored dvd it plays all right, but next time I only heard the sound while the screen is black.

This also happen when trying out GOTTVPVR so I’m not sure it’s actually a bug with GBPVR.

Sub,

I've e-mailed the logs. Thanks for the help... interesting note... The problem just happend after watching a show. I was recording sometime else at the time. So I shutdown GB-pvr (not the service) and while getting the logs ready I noticed the screen flash for a second. This happend at the exact time the show finished recording! I started gb-pvr.exe backup and I can now play stuff. It's almost like the recording service is holding on to the 350 somehow and after the recording finished it let it go.

Weird.

Thanks!

davisj36,

I’m actually quite sure that we are dealing with the same problem! And that it has to do with the use of the overlay manager. Try using WMR9 or WMR7 instead and I think the problem will disappear.

sub,

I would prefer using the overlay manager. Can you fix the problem?

Thanks Parbis... I'll give it a try tonight to see if it helps...

Silly question but what are the diffents with the 3 options (vmr9 7, overlay)?

Thanks.

davisj36, looking at your logs I wonder it its something to do with displaying the "do you want to resume" prompt. You might want to try disabling this option in the config app to see what effect it has.

Let me know how you get on.
