I've got an OEM Leadtek PVR2000 (no FM tuner) and haven't been able to get past the "failed to communicate with recording service" issue.

I beleive that the problem is that the OEM card is actually based on the nVidia MCE TV / DVxplore MPEG-2 chipset from LSI/C-Cube, and not the Conexant Blackbird like the retail version is.

I gather that this means it is not currently supported?

It's not in the list of currently supported cards so that would lead me to believe that it's not supported.

But you may need to put an entry in the direct.ini file to try and experiment with this card. It may work. The entry would look something like this:

You would need to use Graphedit to get the proper names. And also if this isn't a Blackbird design you would need to change that to 0. You would probably have to set Conexant to 0 also. Give it a shot.

Could this same process possibly work with DVB cards like the hauppauge nexus-s?

Possibly...

You might be lucky if the directshow components for these devices are arranged in a similar fashion, and if they output an MPEG program stream. Transport streams would probably not work.
