Sub, I noticed from your 9413 release notes that you have put in some better error handling and reporting for USBUIRT.

I'm still getting the problem whereby my USBUIRT quits responding (others have had this too and we've posted in a separate thread, but I can't be ar*ed to look for it at the moment).

Anyway - is there anything I can specifically look for, and in which logs to help track down my problem?

I'm only using USBUIRT as a sender, and it has the latest firmware and drivers.

Thanks.

P.S. The last releases have been excellent. Keep up the good work.

Are you talking about using it as an input or output device?

What version of GB-PVR are your running?

Sorry Sub, I thought that would be clear from the message.

I'm using GB-PVR v0.94.13 and the USB-UIRT is only being used as an output device (sender) to flash my Sky digibox.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

i've had similar problems with the usbuirt plug-in. for the moment, i've solved the problem by not using the plug-in, and instead using the command-line channel changer. i specify a bash script (to parse the digits out individually) and call 'uutx', an executable provided by jon (support@usbuirt.com). i've had it running this way a few days with no channel-change problems so far.

forgot to mention, there is one issue with the command-line channel change setting. it seems like gbpvr doesn't wait for the channel change command to finish before it sends another one (say when you are watching live tv and hit + a few times). this spawns off multiple channel change executables which all compete to send digits. it should really wait. even better if it could collapse a close succession to the last event.

Thanks Peabody.

If all else fails (i.e. the godly sub can't assist), I'll give this a try, although I don't fancy the idea of installing bash just to run a script (I've spent years of my life trying to get away from programming unix-like shell script).

*bump*

Sub - Any help with this at all would be appreciated, i.e. what to look for in what logs etc.

Thanks

Is there a repeatible pattern where it stops responding? For example, always after the first recording? or may be after using live tv, recordings will no longer switch?

Either way, reproduce it, then zip and attach the following logs:
- GBPVR.exe.log
- GBPVR.exe-native.log
- GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log
- GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log

Thanks sub, will do.

Every time I think I've spotted a pattern to this, it goes and proves me wrong. It usually happens after I've been watching recordings, but sometimes after live TV and sometimes when nothing at all is happening (i.e. not even running GB-PVR).

As I've mentioned before, I simply re-start the recording service and everything works again.

Do you need me to set a particular logging-level via config before capturing the logs? I currently have it set to 'Error'.

Thanks again.

MicroSark- i only used bash because that is what i am familiar with. Anything that can parse the channel number XYZ into X, Y, Z will do.

Sub- I did not notice a particular pattern other than it took more than a few channel changes to happen.
