OK, I'm in the UK, so when I tried to set up GBPVR yesterday I found I neeeded to use XML TV to get the TV guide. The annanova link in the wiki no longer has a feed, so I downloaded XMLTV. I couldn't get this to work at first, so I downloaded XML TV Radio Times Grabber. I made a xml file with this and set it up as the EPG source in GBPVR, but when i tried to view live tv (or the tv guide) in GBPVR I got;

"No channels have been set up. Please run the configuration utility and setup the EPG source. Use the "Update EPG" button to force the system to import the latest set of channel and programme information"

So I went back and hit the Update EPG button but nothing changed. By this point I worked out how to use XMLTV (I think), and managed to get it to give me an output xml file for tv_grab_uk_rt. I set this up as the EPG source and hit the update EPG button. I'm still getting the message whenever I try to watch live tv or the guide in GBPVR.

I know the card isn't the problem as WINTV2000 is working fine.

Can anybody help? I'm sure plenty of people before me have made this work, but I can't find a simple 'how to' anywhere.

attach the xmltv file you generated, that will most likely be the cause of your problems. you can test the card by manually adding a channel or two (the epg guide will be blank) and see if you get live tv.

Yes, I followed the ImportTvGuide page, but as I say I still couldn't get it to work.

I tried adding a channel manually but i still get the same message when I try to watch live TV. And I'm sorry to be stupid, but how do I 'attatch the xmltv file'?

Sorry, but I can't see that you said this. That's why I pointed you to it.

In the config for EPG Source, you click "Settings", and ther you point out the xmltv file.

Ah I see, I did that when i tried the first couple of times. Sorry for not being clearer.

EDIT; Just to be clear; I haven't fixed the problem yet, only worked out what 'attatch' meant.

I think by attach, Reven mean post it here so someone can look at it to make sure it's valid. Worth doing even if he didn't mean that!

*doh* Yes, that's what he meant. I didn't see he wrote that, so I also thought... oh well... :-)
