I set up NextPvr on my laptop since it was less work to work with. In settings under device the HomeRun was found without any problem. Channels and guide were setup. Everything works great. So as to not hold up the laptop I wanted to do the setup on an XP desktop. Program loaded and opens OK. Going to settings and to Devices the desktop only "finds" the IPTV. I do not plan to use that in any way. What is not found is the HomeRun HDHR4-2US. The HR and this desktop are on the same network. Any ideas on what is wrong?
Very experienced with XBMC/KODI, upgraded to Windows 10 and waved goodbye to Media Centre so decided to use the KODI PVR integration instead.
My card is a TBS6285, works fine with Media Centre and I can manage to get it stream a live channel in both the NextPVR client and KODI, however I am only able to get the first tuner to work. Whilst recording, I cant watch live TV and vice versa.
It has to be something simple. Having gone through the Wiki and setup guides, I am tending to think it is related to the device number of all 4 tuners, all of which is 1, although I am not able to change this. Could it be this or am I needing to select something else?
I'm having trouble with EPG data. I've downloaded MC2XML.exe and set it up. It seems to have downloaded an xml file with channel listing data. I've then setup a channel in Nextpvr, ie mapped the channel to this file and selected the channel name. Nextpvr never updates with any data though.
Is there something wrong with my Nextpvr or mc2xml? I downloaded MS. legacy data with it. As I said the file appears to have listings.
This probably wasn't smart but I recently upgraded the following software all around the same time:
- Windows 10
- NextPVR latest version
- HDHomeRun latest version
Now I'm having issues with a few channels in NPVR; the problematic channels frequently load with a black screen and no audio. I'm not positive but I don't remember seeing this type of issue prior to upgrading my software.
For example, I was trying to watch Friends on CBS, channel 45 (virtual channel 44.2), I kept encountering issues. I ran a test found that roughly 75% of the time I'd encounter a black screen when trying to load the channel, other 25% the channel would load fine. I tried using HDHR View software multiple times and didn't encounter any issues loading the same channel, although I'm not sure if HDHR View uses the same protocols (BDA?) as NPVR.
I disabled transcoding on my HDHR and saw the same results with transcoding disabled. I'm not sure how to fix. I've attached my logs below from when I was trying to watch the broken Friends episode. Appreciate any help, thanks.
EDIT: The channel I tested with that was failing had a signal strength of 100%, signal quality of 98%, and symbol quality of 100%, according to the HDHR software.
It's just for recording, will never watch live. Just need it to record a few hours every night, but, need it to work with multirecord. Anyone have a cheapie USB tuner for ATSC that seems to work with nextpvr and multirecord? Looking for brand and model.
I'm trying to use NextPVR on windows 10 as a replacement for my long time use of Media Center.
I can view live tv without issue, however when i schedule a recording, the tuner is activated but NextPVR just creates a blank .ts file. Not sure why this is happening. Any help appreciated!
I've written SD about this but am wondering if anyone else is having problems with their Guide from SD. I have several channels with no info after 7:00 pm Monday, 8/3. All other channels have the information they should have. I'm using the latest version of NPVR on a Win7 i7 computer. I'm guessing this is an SD problem but thought I would check to make sure no one else was experiencing it.
I'm not really interested in watching those missing channels, but I was curious as to why NPVR can't find them but HDHR can.
Is it because the signal's too weak? If the signal is too weak, is there any way to configure a threshold so that NPVR can pick up weaker channels if so desired?
Hello All, I am new to NextPVR. I've gotten it working (mostly). When I update channel listings, there are a few (not many) channels that don't show - although they do show in WMC
