  Windows 10 & TBS6280 DVB-T2 Twin tuners - Decoding problems
Posted by: lightbody - 2015-08-30, 04:08 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (18)

Hi,

I'm new here, and new to NextPVR. I'm already a fan - it looks good.

I've upgraded to Windows 10 and therefore lost Windows Media Center. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I've installed NextPVR and successfully configured the 2 tuners in my TV card, and they can see 123 channels.

But I can't actually see any live TV. I'm a bit confused about Decoders etc... The message I'm getting on the screen is "the tuner you were using was required for a recording...." which isn't true.

Any help and guidance really appreciated.

- Rob

  Timezone issue
Posted by: sbiddle - 2015-08-30, 07:47 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I've just installed 3.5.7 on a brand new machine that I plan to migrate my backend to. I did an a XML export of recordings on the old machine and coipied the files across and this all works fine - except for the times shown in the recordings screen.

If I click on a recording I see the time in ready recordings displaying in Zulu time (as the XML says) which is NZST -12 however when clicking on a recording to see details it displays the time correctly in NZST.

Is this a bug in 3.5.7?

Modified TV Guide for large 10' Interface Screens
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2015-08-30, 07:03 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Here is a quick modification of the Default TV Guide.
If logo is present there is no channel text. (New UK Freeview and Freesat logos on the Wiki Big Grin)
The small text for channel numbers, timeline etc. is smaller.
The new jump menu at the bottom is no more. (Couldn't find how to use it without a mouse)

Ideally you should copy your default skin folder and rename it - then overwrite with the 2 files supplied.
I just overwrote the 2 files in the default skin - so they may disappear in future updates.

If you don't want the smaller text don't use the replacement Global.xml

Revert to icons only in recordings after 357 update?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2015-08-30, 06:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I used to (for quite a few years now) have an amended layout which meant I only had icons in recordings menu (my preference), rather than Channel No Icon and name, which takes a lot of screen real estate.

Is there a setting for that or do I need to manually amend a file?

  HD HomeRun HDHR4-2Dt Support
Posted by: mikeyman22 - 2015-08-30, 05:59 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

Tried NextPVR v3.4.8 and now this one v3.5.7 on Win 8.1 x64 with HDHR4-2DT. Installed correctly, HD HomeRun software works fine, but NextPVR does not find any channels when scanning. Have disabled the Windows/MacFee Firewall, and done a fresh install (uninstalled NPVR and restarted before installing new version). IS it just that NPVR does not support HDHR4 models ?

Attaching npvr.log, not when try to stop service using 'Stop NPVR Service' get this error:

Is there a way to reorder the plugins (and consequently the menu list)?
Posted by: BrettB - 2015-08-30, 05:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I just upgraded to version 3.5.7 and found that the main menu had changed from horizontal to vertical. I actually think that I like the vertical better, but would prefer to have the "Exit" menu option at the end of the list. Right now, "System" is at the end. Is there a way to change the order of the plugins?

  upgrade problem
Posted by: RTKAT - 2015-08-30, 04:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

The upgrade loaded without any problem. But, when I attempt to schedule a recording and am on the screen that has several options of lead time and extra ending time a problem happens. Click on the OK and nothing happens. Locks up. Only way out is right mouse button and exit. Looking at the log file, I see it states at the end some popups can not be found. Maybe has something to do with the lock up. ????? Thoughts?

1 channel not found or unknown in scan
Posted by: sheddo - 2015-08-30, 12:58 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Hi,

I have a re-installation in Brisbane Australia due to a OS crash:
Vista
NPVR 3.5.7
Leadtek DTV1000s

When I scan for channels I get everything except for the channels at 219500 if I set the country and region to Australia Brisbane. (also with "scan Offsets checked). It simply finds nothing.

If I scan all regions it will find something at 219500, (Actually 219375) but it is unknown and will not play.

I have had this problem previously, but cannot recall for the life of me how I got around it. The channles at 219500 until before the OS crash were perfect so I know they are there!

Any ideas?

Log file should be attached.

Thanks in advance

starting live tv on server stopped live tv on client
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2015-08-30, 12:47 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I have no idea if this has anything at all to do with 3.5.7, I don't use my client much, and almost never for live tv so I really can't say this wouldn't have happened exactly the same a month ago...

Early this afternoon I started watching the little league world series USA championship game on my client (Win 10 pro running 3.5.7 client). It ran for quite some time without incident, an hour at least

Around 2:05pm I needed to make some lunch for the kids so I went out to the living room and started live tv on the main tv (win 7 pro running 3.5.7 server); I left the client running live tv as well.

At his point several weird things happened:
- Live TV took quite awhile to start on the server, seemed like it was about 10 seconds
- Live TV started on channel 2.2, not channel 2 like it should have
- I typed 7 and hit ok to change to channel 7 - it changed to 7.2 instead
- I pressed ch-up once to move to channel 7 and it skipped to channel 5.3
(in short, I could access only subchannels this way, not regular channels)
- I finally pressed F1 to bring up the guide and selected channel 7 from there, it then switched to the LLWS as expected

Later on returning to my client PC I found it sitting at the false "the tuner you were using was required for a recording" message; there was a recording running, but it had started already at 1pm and had moved to a different tuner anyway. Looking at the logs now it's clear Live TV died on the client at the exact same time I was starting it on the server.

Yes, all channels exist on all tuners (except Disney which has it's own tuner, but that's not in play here).

Logs from client and server attached.

Note that the clock on the client is almost exactly 15 seconds ahead of the server, so bear that in mind if you compare timestamps in the logs.
