Recently I have had a number of Recorded Shows which when played on the PCH has no video, but does have Audio [on the PCH].
When I play the show using NPVR on the PC, the the same occurs (Black Screen, with sound), but if I jump forward a wee bit the show seems to work fine.
When I try to jump forward on the PCH it keeps jumping back to the start, as if the timeline is out of whack, so I never get to see the show; I just hear the audio.
So first I ran the file through (free) Avidemux and saved as an AVI - on the PCH I got Video but no sound.
So I then tried to run it through (free) MKVToolNix which normally works well, but it said something like the file didn't even exist and could not open it i.e. the normal audio and video streams never even came up.
So I then ran it through a program I found called TS-Doctor and it seemed to fix it, so I imported it and it worked (even cut the ads for me, very cool) - I am not promoting the program btw, but I did buy it as my trial had run out.
Attached are logs from the two failed tests runs from the PCHA100.
What do you reckon, was it just a flaky recording? These are recordings where the computer is woken up by sub's great new double wake-event fix, but maybe with only 1 min padding it stuffs up getting a signal lock? I will try 2mins padding. The shows are recorded using a USB-Tuner; could it be the device being slow to wake up?
After upgrading from 3.3.8 to 3.4.8 I found that Nextpvr is "broken", that is the EPG has a problem.
When I start the program and click on "TV Guide" I get the follow problem. Updating, removing or refreshing the EPG does not fix the problem. Removing and reinstalling the program also does not fix the problem.
The next logical question, is there an external (to the program) that 3.4.8 requires that 3.3.8 did not require?
I even tried uninstalling 3.4.8 and reinstalling 3.3.8 but the problem still remains
I can watch "Live TV" but I want to record and I can't set to do so without the EPG.
Thanking you in advance for the great program that was and hopefully to be again.

Can't find the setting, if any.... I have advanced manual timers whereby I record all channels on 6 networks every night during prime time. This works great. Each manual timer with SQL to select via time, has it's own name, and therefore the files get stored in:
d:\TV Shows\Recordings\Prime Time CW for example.
EXCEPT movies. They seem to get stored in d:\TV Shows\Recordings\MovieName (year)\MoveName (year).ts
Is there a setting somewhere where I can keep movie names the same as TV shows and also store in the directories with them? It appears movies are being stored in a subfolder, AND, also are not going to the manual time directory (I specify the NAME in the manual timer so it goes to the channel subdirectory as noted in the example path above), just the default directory.
All metadata is turned off on the misc2 settings screen, and, under settings -> Recording, file naming, Use S01E01... is on, as well as use Movie Name (Year). Perhaps that setting also causes it to go into its own folder in addition to ignoring the manual time directory? I can't find any real doc on what that setting actually does?
There has just been a transponder change of a number of satellite channels and I was going to try to edit the individual channels to the new transponder details - everything is available on the popup window (from devices or channel window) for editing - except the polarity H/V
NPVR freezes and hangs after a few seconds of operation of Live TV.
My installation comprises:
NextPVR 3.4.8 (dated 25th April 2015, no updates downloaded since then)
Enabled Device: AverMedia H752 TV Tuner displayed as AverMedia 7231 DVBT Tuner
Device Channels: 108 FreeView TV & Radio programs broadcast by UK (North West) Granada Winter Hill transmitter.
The following is a typical record of the actions taken in producing the fault:
Click Live TV.
After about 5secs TV programme opens full screen.
Between 30 and 60secs screen freezes and NPVR hangs.
Right click and select Exit to shut down NVPR.
Is there an incorrect setting somewhere in C:\Users\Public\NPVR ?
I have used MCE for some years, using a third party program to download TV logos. I have tried pointing to that folder but I still don' have any TV logos.
I've installed NextPVR version 3.4.8 on Windows 8.1 without WMC. I'm trying to connect to a Ceton InfiniTV6 ETH. I've installed the SageDCT driver and when I view the InfiniTV6 device page in my browser, I can confirm NextPVR is communicating with the InfinitTV6. I've installed Shark007's codec pack, uninstalled my Antivirus software, disabled Windows Firewall and set every Audio and Video decoder to LAV. I have tried the Video Renderer as EVR and Overlay, but still, the best I can get is 1 second of Audio and no video. I have attached the log files. Am I doing something wrong?!?!? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
I got my NPVR set up so I could hear and see the QAM stations from my cable. Then I set out to get the guide set up. I created the XMLTV XML file and set all the stations up properly and was getting good guide info. I even did a couple of test recordings and everything was working great.
I haven't used it in a couple of weeks but I open up NPVR today and all it says for every channel is "no show details". What happened??? I checked and the XMLTV.XML file is still there and each station is still pointing to it.
I tried updating the EPG data but nothing changed. I can still watch live tv but I get no guide data.
I've spent a couple of hours reading about IPTV and trying to watch a channel and have had no luck. I have a Prime tuner which says it has an IPTV tuner but I haven't been able to see anything but a blank screen. Is anyone able to provide me with basics on this topic or even better, provide me with a link that actually works? This is nothing critical...I'm just curious. I know you say NPVR only wants a udp address but other than that fact I'm having no luck. Does anyone have a list of addresses that will work on NPVR? Again, I'm just curious about this subject but am having no luck finding out anything.
I'm using the NextPVR software - its excellent however I'm attempting to re-encode it as an MP4 file instead of the TS file.
I've found a load of postprocessing scripts which are supposed to do this however they require handbrake to be installed.
