  Manually assign tunners to recordings?
Posted by: Croftie - 2014-06-08, 12:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Is this possible? When scheduling several recordings they are not always assigned to the same tuner if they are an the same mux, which then causes conflicts that npvr doesn't warn about (by design because it doesn't take padding into account) so recordings get cut off.

The only way I can see to do this is manually edit npvr.db3. Would that work? I'll test it tomorrow when the tunner isn't busy but in the mean time if anyone knows.

If that is the only way I'd love a gui option to manually assign tuners to recording. Overlaying the assigned tunner in the epg would be cool too so you can see at a glance they are assigned as you like.

Recently upgraded to 3.2.9 and it's working perfect, thank you Smile

  Anyone out there for wiki?
Posted by: steeb - 2014-06-08, 12:02 AM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - No Replies

Big Grin

OK, I have a little more time on my hands than I had before. I am not sure, but I suspect, McBainUK may have moved onto different shores. It was his work that created what I think is a fairly solid wiki.

But times are a changing.

sub (as usual!) progresses NextPVR and so some wiki pages need some changes.

I say don't all shout at once. History shows you won't all shout at once anyway Big Grin

I have no idea if even anyone is bothered by this (changes to wiki pages).

But if anyone was bothered about wiki page changes

1Smile What would they be?
2Smile Can anyone help!

cheers

  Guideplus problems
Posted by: jghanisco - 2014-06-07, 06:29 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (3)

I have used guideplus for over a year, and have noticed problems creeping up over the past month. I'm not sure if it's the number of recordings I have in the database (approaching 1000), or just the fact that certain shows are giving it headaches. For the past 3 nights, the epgupdate is pulling a new main file, but the guidepus update doesn't complete. Before this, I would notice the updated xml would show a date / time of 3 hours + after the original xml.

Firewall is off. Not sure what else I can have active on my machine to make this problem. I am currently running guideplus from the command prompt, and this is the exception that I get time after time:

XNEWA Error When Scheduling Recurring Recording of NEW Episodes
Posted by: pkscout - 2014-06-07, 05:42 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (4)

I've not had any luck getting XNEWA to setup recurring recordings. The most substantial issue is that when I try to setup a recurring recording of NEW episodes, a dialog box pops up that an error has occurred. If I change it to any other option (like record all episodes), I don't get an error, but the recording is not actually scheduled. I've included my XBMC log from an attempt to do both those things. The first attempt starts around line 834 (that's a recurring recording of new episodes), and the second attempt is just after that (a recurring recording of all episodes).

Also, XNEWA sets the default pre-padding to 2 minutes even though I have pre (and post) padding defaulted to 1 minute in the NPVR settings.

As some additional information, if I use the XBMC EPG with the NPVR enhanced dialog for Confluence, I seem to have more success with recordings (although I still have some specific challenges, but I'll post those separately). The pre and post padding also both show 1 minute as I would expect.

  Video Details screen problems
Posted by: ttfitz - 2014-06-07, 04:19 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

I've got two things on the new Videos details screens. First, when there are multiple items in the directory, I am prompted if I really want to delete an item when I select Delete, but on single file directories, it doesn't prompt, it just deletes.

Second, there is some inconsistency in what is displayed for the files. Here is a simple example, the files in the directory are:

Castle (2009).S06E20.That '70s Show.ts
Castle (2009).S06E21.Law & Boarder.ts
Castle (2009).S06E22.Veritas.ts

And below is the display. So why does the second one display most of the whole file name, while the other two don't?

There are other permutations of this behavior, but this was a simple one where all the files were the same type and in the same directory.

Thanks.

Ability to play channels with no EPG
Posted by: grimfandango - 2014-06-06, 11:56 PM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (1)

Hi thanks for bringing npvr to android. I have my cable running through a video card to so that I can watch in a few different rooms without the need for extra boxes. I am unable to play the video card channel as it has no EPG (or am I missing something?).

imageGrabLite Unable to Rename The Wil Wheaton Project
Posted by: pkscout - 2014-06-06, 05:25 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (2)

imageGrabLite doesn't seem to be able to rename The Will Wheaton Project episodes. I've attached the log from the last attempt along with the XML imageGrabLite used to check the show. As I look at the log, IGL seems to be saying that there was no episode information for the show, but the episode info is in thetvdb.com, and NextPVR has the episode name in the EPG.

  Sound disappeared on TV
Posted by: desmo - 2014-06-06, 02:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (22)

Running NPVR 3.2.9 with no issues. While trying out all the buttons on a new MCE remote I have managed to make the sound disappear during playback. No sound for recordings playback, or for downloaded AVI files playing back through NPVR. If I play media files with VLC player I get sound ok through the TV, it's only with NPVR that it's not working.

Using onboard sound and video from Asrock FM2A88M Extreme4+.

Attached are logs and screenshot of my decoder settings. Also is a screenshot of the PC volume mixer that shows NPVR and a green bar for sound, though none is coming through the TV.

All volume settings on the PC are at 100% and the TV volume is up enough.

The remote button pressing might be a red herring, but I think the button pressed when the issue started happening was the ENTER button, in the bottom right of the attached picture of the remote.

I have experimented with all the different Audio renderers to no avail, the main other one being Panasonic TV AMD High Definition.

Any help appreciated.

IPTV channels not appearing in NEWA guide.
Posted by: JP23 - 2014-06-06, 12:48 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

Hi.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but the IPTV channels I have set up don't appear in the NEWA guide.

I'd like to be able to schedule recordings on these via the EPG and stream them live when I'm away from home.

Is there any way I can get them to show up?

Recording Service Not Running At Recording Time
Posted by: Bluethunder - 2014-06-05, 08:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Running into an odd problem with 3.2.9.

I was having some problems with stuttery recordings, so I went back to an old HD image I had when everything was working, and installed 3.2.9.

Now I'm getting failed recordings, with Recording service not running once and a while.

Near the end (early morning), I have a series of recordings that failed. According to the "What's new", the Through the wormhole failed, but it is completely recorded in the directory. The next following recordings (I think it was food factory), did not record.

Another post mentioned to have the "out of process recording" box checked in the settings, and it was during this time.

I included some log files, that have a couple instances.

Any ideas?
