Hi, after I upgraded to the last version I seemed to have lost all recurring and pending recordings. I manually added the recordings from the guide by using the ' record all episodes on this channel'-option. they appear in Pending, but recurring is till empty! How is that possible? Any ideas?
I am having what seems to me an odd problem, and hope maybe someone can help me. I am trying to use VideoReDo TVSuite4 to edit my ts files created by NPVR, to remove the commercials and transcode to AVC. On my main computer I do this, saving my files in M2TS format (because I used to do this to run on my PS3), and everything plays fine through NPVR via Videos, but I've been experimenting with saving in MKV on my homegrown PVR system, since NPVR doesn't recognize M2TS as a file extension to keep around in the database.
And that's where I run into problems - NPVR won't play the MKV files created by VRD. The odd part, at least to me, is that it WILL play MKV files that I download, of the same encoding and resolutions. I'm guessing I might need to change some settings in VRD, but thought I'd check here and see if anyone knew what might be going on with this.
Any ideas? If you need any more info, files, etc. let me know.
I use SAB to download and rename TV episodes before it moves them to my TV folder. I notice I get an nfo file with many of them which has the exact same name as the episode but NPVR does not show that file on the info screen. Is there something I can do about that or is that "just the way it is." I'm attaching such a file which as the same file name as the episode.
I've read the utilities posting on this program and searched a lot of the emails but I'm still uncertain about this program and whether it will work for me. All of my movies and TV Series episodes are downloaded by SAB. Will IGL work for that setup and if so, how should it best be configured? I only use NPVR to record local news but I use it to playback all of my downloads. All I want are episode descriptions. NPVR provides all the metadata I need for the series.
I upgraded my PC and did a clean install of NPVR this weekend. I did a lot of test recordings to make sure I had set everything up correctly and found that some recordings were coming out choppy in both audio and video. Checking the recording status, I noticed that often, 2 concurrent recordings would go to the same tuner (I have 3) instead of each tuner recording 1 show and these "doubled up" recordings were of poor quality. These were all manual recordings, so no pre- or post- padding issues. In reading through other posts on the forum, it seems that if I record 2 shows on the same digital ATSC (OTA) channel (i.e. 13.1 and 13.2) in the same time slot, they will use ONE tuner, even if another one is available. Is this correct? I didn't see a solution posted. If I've understood the previous posts correctly, is there a way to set NPVR so that IF another tuner is available, it will be used instead of doubling up on one tuner?
Hi, just joined the forum, and this is my first post.
I was recommended NextPVR by a subscriber to the AVForum, and have installed it successfully. So far I like what I see as far as the GUI and features are concerned, but having set up my Device (ATI Theatre DVB-T USB dongle) and scanned for all the channels OK, I cannot see any video when watching Live TV. I can hear the channels OK, just not see them, and everything else seems to work fine (although I haven't tried a record yet); and the EPG is populated correctly.
I have checked the FAQs and downloaded a new DLL for the DVB-T device called Unmanaged.DLL (date-stamp 10/05/2014) and copied it to the c:\program files\nextpvr folder, but no change. The video card I am using on the PC is an ATI Radeon HD 9600 with a ViewSonic 23" monitor, and the PC has an Intel 6600 CPU with 3Gb memory.

Hi everyone. I downloaded NPVR and installed it on my Windows 7 x64 computer. I think I followed the directions from the user guide. I have Ubuntu and Mythtv installed on a second hdd, so I am a member of
Schedule Direct. The problem is that the hd homerun prime shows the channels, but in the it says no show details.
What am I doing wrong? Should I disable Media Center? Any assistance will be appreciated. sister5091
