Hi everyone

I have a simple request... I need to import a lot of shows recorded with ArgusTV (mainly MPG/TS format with no metadata) into NextPVR.

The only thing I really want from this process is to be able to group the shows under their title so they will show up grouped in XBMC (which is my TV watching frontend).

What is the best way to accomplish this task with NextPVR?

I've modded Confluence to provide an option to use the XNEWA screens instead of the default Confluence ones when clicking from the various submenus in the LiveTV section. The only thing is that when you, for instance, click on Recordings, you get taken to the main XNEWA screen. Is there some way to call XNEWA and tell it on which item I'd like to start? It's not a big deal, but it would make the user interface nicer. Right now I have to select Timer in Confluence and then click down to the right place in XNEWA.

I'm trying to follow the wiki article about setting up internet streaming.

I've got a 64-bit system for the server so I will need to make some changes to the defaults.

Forgive the question, but the wiki states "clicking on the config button near the top right corner of the EWA screen". I'm not sure what the EWA screen is and I can't find a configuration button.

Suddenly, all my channels have disappeared, live TV doesn't work, and when I tried to scan for channels, it can't find any at all.
I even tried using the setting all countries and all regions but still nothing.
I am located in Melbourne Australia. have all 5 TV networks been knocked off the air?
Please help if you can.

I'm not tech-savvy so please be patient with me. I just bought the device, I tried to get it working with SageTV and gave up after a couple of days. Hoping NPVR is easier to use. I can view channels both in the Silicon software ('Quick View') and in NPVR but in both programs there are no channel names, everything is listed like this:
Channel....Name
5001........Unknown
5002........Unknown
5003........Unknown
Am I off to a bad start? Or are things supposed to start off that way? Anyway I saw a blog recommending Schedules Direct so I signed up, hoping there was a way to map channels automatically. I went to the Bulk Mapping screen, put my cursor on the first row/channel and selected 'Schedules Direct' and '1. OND' and then I got a couple of popups asking me if I wanted to bulk map. I clicked yes and then nothing seemed to happen - I'm still stuck with the above list of 'unknown' channels.

Do I have to map the channels one by one? (I really have no idea what I'm doing).

You select "Play" and it does the same as if you selected "Close". It doesn't like "£" (UK Pound sign) in the title. I dug out an old Windows client and it plays ok in that and it plays ok as a file in XBMC.

I have six other recordings with a "£" UK pound sign in the title and they don't play either.

Frist off I deleted a show due to stupidity.
Notwithstanding this, deleting now seems too easy with Metadata Menu set.
Can we bring back a yes or no option, or consider a recycle bin please?

I've a problem with the backend of nextpvr and xbmc

As you can see from the video below when I click the "REC" button nextpvr starts recording, so far so good.. i can't stop recording anyway. if i press the button a second time just it start a new registration (in another file).

Hi

I am wanting to connect my Sky box to my PC to enable me to record TV. The PC is a Dell XPS 8500 with an Avervideo M779 PCIe capture card. The Sky box is connected to the PC via the cards Composite video sockets and this works on Windows Media Centre.

I have installed nPVR version 3.2.9 but am unsure how to set it up. Under Settings, Devices I have

DVB-T M779 PCIe BDA DVB-T Tuner 2 Yes Yes 0
IPTV IPTV Device Yes Yes 0

If I try to scan for channels on the DVB-T device, nothing to find.

I am not sure how to proceed. I an NOT experienced in setting up Video devices.

There are a couple of “features” I sometimes see in X-NEWA related to pressing the “Stop” key on the remote while watching a recording. Until earlier this year I was using the Windows client and always used the “Esc” key on the remote instead of both “Stop” and “Back” keys so rarely used the “Stop” key. Sometimes when I press the key as well as stopping the recording I get a popup “MAC Discovery failure” for my NextPVR server. I think I have also seen this pressing the “Back” key but there is no problem accessing the server.

More annoying is sometimes when pressing the key as well as stopping the recording it does a sort of the recordings. I don’t know if the unwanted sort is a “feature” of my model of remote control producing double key presses but it happens with both of mine at least once most evenings. I have experimented with pressing the key for over a second and with pressing the “Back” key next to it at the same time to try and find a reason for the sort.
