Dot NET error completely out of the blue! Help!
Posted by: siliconaudio - 2014-04-14, 07:39 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

On Sunday, NextPVR 3.1.1 was working just fine during the day. Later that evening, whenever I tried to run it I got this in the Windows application event log:

Quote:Faulting application name: NextPVR.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x53384dee
Faulting module name: clr.dll, version: 4.0.30319.18408, time stamp: 0x52310b2d
Exception code: 0xc00000fd
Fault offset: 0x00378f7a
Faulting process id: 0xf80
Faulting application start time: 0x01cf57b17d3b1372
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NextPVR.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\clr.dll
Report Id: c39ba651-c3a4-11e3-9924-94de80bfec3b

I get the same error when trying to restart the recording service, only the application name changes. What is strange is that my PVR has been fine for months and absolutely nothing has been installed or changed. Even Windows update has to be run manually.

I have tried:
  • Re-installing dot NET 4.5.1 (repair option)
  • Upgrading to NPVR 3.2.9
  • Removing dot NET altogether and reinstalling
  • Googling "faulting module clr.dll" only to find any hotfixes relate to earlier versions than I have installed
  • Any and all Windows Updates
I would send NPVR logs, but it's not getting far enough to create them. I'm at my wits end. This is the first GBPVR/NPVR problem I haven't been able to fix in years. Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers,
Bill

  Channel/ChannelMapping
Posted by: whurlston - 2014-04-14, 07:15 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

On the ChannelMapping(int captureSourceOID, int channelNumber, string tuning, int serviceType) constructor, what is channelNumber (in regards to QAM channels)? It seems to always be 0 in my list of channels.

If I call Channel.LoadForGroup("Clear QAM Channels"), modify the list and then save it back using Channel.SaveAll(), will that remove all other channels in NPVR (meaning I should call Channel.Save() for each individual channel instead)?

If I call Channel.SetChannelMapping(), is this only temporary until Channel.Save() is called or does it save the channel automatically?

Does Channel.SetChannelMapping() overwrite the current mapping for that captureSourceOID or do I need to call Channel.DeleteMapping() first?

Hi
I'm new round these parts so be gentle!
I am looking to move away from WMC with NextPVR thru mediabrowser.
Fancy putting my motorised dish back up so the next question is does nextpvr support USALS ?
I did a search but found nothing...

  Issue with defining channel numbers
Posted by: RichU - 2014-04-14, 02:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I use an ATI All-In-Wonder HD card for OTA signals via an antenna and coax cable. NPVR works great!

I use zap2xml to get listings from zap2it.com - now works OK after updating. (just posted my "tips") (Tried mc2xml, but it doesn't seem to fit with my N. America OTA, non-cable signals.)

But I wanted to expand my channel list - after updating my "favorite channels" at zap2it, I wanted to add additional channels in NPVR.

I tried adding 9.1, 9.2, and 9.3, as examples, because that is the way they show on my actual TV and on the Zap2it webite, and in the .xml file. I was trying to do this in Settings-Channels-Details . . . but it didn't seem to take. No decimals showed. Nowadays, TV stations generate additional stations beside the standard programming - say, continuous weather or news or additional programming.

Does NPVR only take integers (no decimals)? Do I do it somewhere else or another way? Would a work-around be to just use a running list of numbers - 1, 2, 3, 4, etc and artificially map them to real numbered stations? Which is kind of awkward.

Thanks.

  Stop graphs on shutdown

My HDPVR locks up and needs to be power cycled if I shut down the service will recording. It would be nice if the exit sequence avoided this

HDHomerun prime (using QAM) tuner left in use after channel EPG update?
Posted by: Spark - 2014-04-14, 12:57 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I can't be sure if this occurred in the older version of NPVR, but, with the newest (3.29), after doing a EPG update for channels, it went through the normal process of doing whatever it is doing for 60 secs (or whatever it is) per channel, but, I glanced over to the HDhomerun, and noticed that one of the tuner LEDs were on.

The update finished, and the tuner LED is still on...which shouldn't be the case, since nothing is recording.
Doing a little digging with hdhomerun_config_gui it appears the last station that tuner was using was 116, and that channel is encrypted.

I overrode it, and turned that tuner off manually, before NPVR had a chance to use it, since I had no idea if it would record, or would it just try another tuner...

Right now, NPVR is recording and that tuner again, so all is well on that side.

Search didn't turn up anything, so, not sure if this is a bug, or a one time glitch or what...

  DVB-T2 Devices
Posted by: Graham - 2014-04-13, 05:50 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

The thread at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?55438-CI-Cam

leads to another potential supplier of DVB-T2 devices. I know nothing about them except that they exist (and that they seem a tad expensive).

  Enable/Disable Recurring Recordings
Posted by: jrockow - 2014-04-13, 10:50 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

If possible, a switch that would allow me to keep all the settings that were established for a recurring recording, but simply turn off the actual recording of the shows until I switch it back on again. Some times I get too many recordings of a specific show and I have to cancel (delete) the info, but then after the shows have been watched I have to re-establish the settings again to record more.
