Help finding a Gotham beta img with working NEXTPVR Add on.
Posted by: hfilmer - 2014-03-12, 03:44 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (24)

Hi NextPVR pros.

I am trying to find an Gotham Beta image for my RPI's with a functioning NextPVR add on.

I have tried a few Openelec images with the new Gotham Beta on the RPI & have had no success. I get a tuner error message & it times out when trying to access live TV. All other functions like EPG, Recordings etc work as they should. I have tried to uninstall & re install the add on but I receive the error some dependencies are not met contact the app developer.

I have an AMD fusion pc successfully running Openelec 3.95.1 (the disk image file worked with the installer but the manual update didn't). After seeing the fruits of Gotham & Next PVR I am keen to get the RPI's up to speed.

Can anyone send a link to a working image or method to get it up & running. I prefer the Gotham XBMC as the advancements of PVR scheduling it excellent & suits the low power RPI.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How to delete a recording as failed and remove from history?
Posted by: notasage - 2014-03-11, 03:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Howdy,

Long time SageTV user here trying out NextPVR for the first time. Still getting used to things, but pleased so far.

One thing I couldn't find in any of my searches was how to tell NextPVR that a recording is wrong and didn't get the show I wanted (due to scheduling issue, prior sports game ran long, etc). Basically I want to delete the recording and remove the entry from the history so that the recurring recording will pick it up the next time it airs (often episodes are repeatedly aired so it's not usually a problem). SageTV has a "Recording Error" option that does exactly this, but I can't find anything in NextPVR's interface.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: Running 3.1.1 with the latest patches

  TV Guide Forward skip
Posted by: BRPST1300 - 2014-03-11, 12:49 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hello everybody,
i am new here, i have been using GBPVR for a few years and just upgraded to NPVR a week ago.
I have a question regarding the operation of the software. In the TV guide, is there a way to do a skip-forward to see the
listing of another day. (This is in the TV Guide, not in the view video mode). For now, on the keyboard, i do a cursor right many times to get to the date/time i want to look at.
I have a 14 days listing but for some reason, the 'search' feature did not find the TV program i searched but when i cursor to the day/time for the program to air, it shows in the TV Guide.
So to speed-up the manual scan of the TV Guide, on the keyboard, is there a combination of button to skip to a given date/time .

Thanks

Al.

XBMC com skip supported for Mythtv
Posted by: dinki - 2014-03-10, 01:21 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (21)

I was looking at the XBMC forums at PVR development and ran across this thread:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=142994

It linked to another page that has code for patching XBMC to allow for comskip support in the PVR section:

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/1743

The first thread says that this is only supported by the Mythtv backend. I'm not sure if work is being done on incorporating this into nPVR so I am posting the information here. Comskip support under XBMC would be a wonderful thing!

Rename or move based on Genre
Posted by: kitehigh - 2014-03-10, 01:03 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hello,

Is is possible to rename recording folders based on the Genre (as per the epg xmltv data)?

I am looking for a way to separate out recorded TV Movies from other recordings - is there a method to have the recording folders organized by Genre or include the Genre in the individual folder name?

e.g.
Recorded TV\Movies\Movie1\Movie1.ts
or
Recorded TV\Movie1(Movies)\Movie.ts

Thanks for any help on this!

  NextPVR and HDHomerun HDHR3-US
Posted by: bikedoug - 2014-03-09, 09:57 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Can't find this anywhere else, but I can't get NextPVR to recognize any channels with an HDHomerun HDHR3-US. I can get the HDHomerun SW to recognize channels, as well as Windows Media Center. I've opened the firewall to the three .exe's needed, but still no luck. Any help? I'd really like to use NextPVR with XBMC.

If this is elsewhere on the forums, sorry, I searched but couldn't find it.

Trying to scan for QAM cable channels from Charter Cable.

  Playback zero length during recording
Posted by: ceandra - 2014-03-09, 07:55 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (18)

Hello:

I (finally) upgraded to NPVR from GBPVR. Comcast now encrypting Basic, so I got an HD Homerun Prime with cablecard. Running on XP box.

During a long recording (NASCAR in this case), I try initiating playback form the recording menu. It shows recording in progress, and the TS file is growing in size. It does play, but the end time stays at 0 and the position time increases. The impact of this is I cannot skip forward to move past commercials etc. I can only watch in "real time", delayed by however much the show has progressed.

In GBPVR I could watch simultaneously, picking up maybe a half hour after the show begins but watching while the recording continues.

Logs attached. Comskip running in Parallel batch file, latest version of Comskip.

Any thoughts? Did not find anything on this on a brief search.

Thanks
Chuck

How to scan specific channel (frequency)?
Posted by: haru - 2014-03-09, 11:07 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I've lost a channel (ITV HD) from my DVB-S tuner within NextPVR and I'm trying to get it back. When I tell NextPVR to re-scan, it doesn't find the channel anymore.

The channel used to be "10832 H" but now its "11907 V".

However, the channel still works on my plasma TV (that uses the same satellite dish) - the signal is:

Astra 28.2E
11907MHz, V, 23000kS/s

Apparently ITV HD was recently moved: http://en.kingofsat.net/news28.2E.php

The channel never stopped working on my TV - but it no longer works in NextPVR (if I try to watch the channel in NextPVR, it's just a black screen)

Is it possible to get NextPVR to find this channel (without losing my other channels)?
Thanks
