I'm having an odd problem. It seems that I am not always getting my edl files from comskip. I am running comskip in my ParallelProcessing script. I am also using Image Grab Lite with the following parameters: "C:\Program Files\NPVR\imageGrabLite.exe" --oid %3 --rename --nfo
I look in some of my recordings directories and I see files like showname.logo.txt and showname.txt so I'm pretty sure that comskip did at least start running on these files. The program is renamed properly, but I'm not seeing the edl. Is it possible that the program finished recording but comskip was not complete, then Image Grab Lite renamed the file and comskip then aborted? If so, what should I do to remedy this? Can I add a sleep or some other delay in my PostProcessing script?
I noticed in a thread a while back regarding Movies plugin, and installed it. This is the best when used with Media Companion to scrape the media file for info, eye candy, etc..
Am curious why this has not been listed in the Wiki plugin section?
I would like to suggest a display renderer that centers video vertically and horizontally, displaying it at native resolution (no scaling), and if necessary cutting off pixels at the top, bottom, and sides. This might be useful for people who have 1680x1050 monitors, who would rather see the video at full resolution, and are willing to lose a little bit of the image at the top and sides to achieve that.
If the user is using this mode, and hits alt+enter to toggle to windowed mode, then it could automatically switch back to using a scaling renderer to fit the window, then if they go back to full-screen display, switch back to the non-scaled renderer.
I have a monitor with max resolution 1680x1050 (which was a pretty common res when I bought the monitor like 8 years ago, and IIRC, the 1050 is the vertical resolution, which corresponds to the value in HDTV resolutions like 720 or 1080). Of course, modern HDTV is usually 1080i resolution (or sometimes 720p).
Right now, NextPVR shows video on my screen by putting small black bars above and below the video and scaling the video, so that I basically see the whole image, BUT because of scaling, of course, I'm actually losing some resolution.
Is there a video display mode which will just center the image on my monitor both vertically and horizontally, and display it at native resolution, allowing a little bit at the top and sides of the image to be "chopped off" since my screen isn't quite as high resolution as the HD standard, but that means that the remaining pixels do not get scaled at all? I think that would give me the best overall picture quality, since no scaling is being done, wouldn't it? If I use that display mode, will NextPVR, I hope, still record the full resolution, but just chop off the edges as it displays the video on that monitor?
With the current scaling that is happening, is NPVR recording the full native resolution, and just doing the scaling during display? (I think this is the case?)
I have downloaded and installed nPVR but somehow, it is not scanning any channels.
I am pasting my filter check log here.
Please help !!!!
Thanks in Advance !!!

I'm using 3.1.1 with the latest patch along with Windows 8.1 and XBMC 12.3 (and also the beta 1 of Gotham).
A problem I've never been able to fix is that with my measly scan of FreeSat channels (74 after bulk mapping and tidying), hitting the Update EPG takes hours and invariably crashes NextPVR. It will have propagated the EPG until the crash, but 90% of the time never completes it. The only way I can get back to watching live TV is to restart the recording service and this allows me to watch it via XBMC again, sometimes with a very limited if not empty EPG.
Any ideas on what I can do? This has had me stumped since Christmas.
I realise I could try the XML route, but really just want to use the over the air EPG...
Hi Folks. First post after doing a little searching for other ex Toppy users and they're rather thin on the ground somewhat naturally.
I've been a member of the Topfield forums for a number of years and have the pleasure of being involved with the functional design of MyStuff, an application that skins the Toppy and provides for a much better PVR experience.
More recently I've subscribed to TalkTalk's Youview box and after a year of pure torture I'm just about fed up to the back teeth over it's inability to do anything particularly well. My only reason for going that route was the subsidy thrown at me when combined with their fibre broadband product and that it could handle HD that the Toppy can't.
So after much research I came across this site and very much liked the similarity between NextPVR and MyStuff running on the Toppy.
My next step is possibly to retire my Toppy, My Windows Home Server V1 and my PS3 as my main methods of viewing Freeview SD, home movies, pictures, music (in FLAC and MP3) and ripped DVD's. The Youview box will just go in the bin! My TV has both Freeview and Freesat HD tuners. Then go for a HTPC with BlackGold tuner card[s] http://shop.blackgold.tv/epages/BT3159.s...ts/BGT3602 and install NextPVR and flexraid for a multi harddrive recording and playback system. With the above and NextPVR I'd be looking forward to recording Freesat and Freeview HD programmes simultaneously and also multiple channels from the same Mux.
Questions:-
1. What would be a sensible chip/motherboard/RAM/Graphics card combi for a HTPC running NextPVR and flexraid?
2. Does anyone here have experience of using MyStuff on the Toppy and could give me an indication of how close in functionality NextPVR is?
3. I note there's not been an update to NextPVR since last October. Is this product still being actively developed?
4. If the answer to 3 is Yes, how open is the developer to adopting functionality from MyStuff? (assuming there is some functionality missing )
Sorry for the long first post. Really don't want to end up with another Youview experience, hence my caution here.
I use the NEWA web page for scheduling recordings. Recently I accidentally created three recurring recordings that had the exact same parameters ('The Walking Dead', any channel, any day, new episodes only). The recording started just fine. I was trying to watch a different program at the same time and got a 'Tuner unavailable error'. Later I discovered that I had three copies of the same program recorded. This explains why I could not watch another program as I was using all available tuners to record that program multiple times.
Is this a feature of nPVR or is it a bug in NEWA/nPVR that allows for scheduling multiple recordings of the same program? I've been trying to think of a reason why someone would want to do this.
I can't seem to get Schedules Direct to provide the epg info. I know my Silicon Dust prime tuner is working. I cleared the epg screen in an attempt to get all the channels to display info but now none do, even after telling NPVR to update epg. I've gone to Schedules Direct and all appears well there. I'm attaching the logs after requesting the epg update. I'd appreciate any help.
I recently upgraded to NPVR, and HD Homerun Prime, so I could continue recording HD when Comcast encrypted basic limited. Well, today they did so, and I no longer get HD on my HD Homerun Prime. Channels are authorized, but they seem to come across with CCI set to "protected - copyonce".
Does this mean NPVR is out?
Also, I am running on XP MCE. Are there options, or is my only choice for HD going to be getting a new Win7 or Win8 computer with WMC?
I plan to take this up with Comcast, but I do not expect positive results.
