Deleting "Instant" Recording from Recordings Menu Deletes Live TV Folder
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2013-10-17, 05:40 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Used the new Instant Record feature for the first time yesterday - Hit the record button 15 mins after starting watching and whole lot recorded as expected - Very Nice feature thanks.
After watching from Recordings later, deleted the program and went to watch live TV - received the message - The Folder D:/Live TV Buffer Does not exist I had to grab the keyboard and quickly recreate it - but am still in trouble
It looks as though the recordings screen deletes the parent folder if it is empty after deleting the file.

As a work around I have put a [Lock File.txt] in the root of the Live TV folder which will hopefully stop the folder being deleted again.
I'll report back when I have had time to test.

  3.1.1 database locked
Posted by: dumbest - 2013-10-17, 12:04 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (32)

Did a clean installation of NPVR 3.1.1.

Imported old recording list. It worked fine at first. But after adding some manual recurring recordings and deleted some old ones, keep on getting "database is locked" errors and NPVR will stop responding and crashed.

Delete corrupted database and start again. "Database is locked" errors come back again after adding some manual recurring recordings and deleted some old ones.

And the cycle continues... Messing too much with manual recurring recordings (adding or deleting them) will crash NPVR 3.1.1, at least for me.

I never have such problems with the NPVR 2.6.2 or older no matter how I mess with it. Anyway, have went back to 2.6.2.

Not reporting anything as I don't have the logs. Just sharing my experience.

  imageGrabLite 2 & NPVR 3.1.1
Posted by: smajor - 2013-10-16, 10:59 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (17)

I'm using IGL to rename recordings so that XBMC's TV Show scraper can recognize them. This was working wonderfully before the recent updates. My postprocessing.bat has the same line in it which is unchanged: "c:\program files\npvr\imageGrabLite.exe" --oid %3 --rename --nfo --zap2it

Here's the log with the error during a run:

No Sound No picture tried SAF and CCCP decoders nothing works on win xp sp3
Posted by: ceebaby - 2013-10-16, 10:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Hi Folks

I am hoping someone out there can help me before I give up on NextPVR.

I am a newbie and have installed NextPVR on an old Dell inspiron 3ghz Pentium 4 with 2G Ram running win xp sp3 Radeon 9700 Mobility graphics card. I have a generic usb DVB-T stick for viewing Freeview in the UK.

Next installed fine with patches and have all pre-requisites installed. Picks up device fine and scans all channels but no picture or sound just a black screen.

However have tried every configuration of decoders audio and video none work. Have tried both the SAF 6 and the CCCP neither work. I only want to watch live Freeview tv with the usb stick will not be recording. I have Next installed on another laptop running Win7 using the same usb stick everything works fine. Have uninstalled and reinstalled both codec packs seperately to ensure no conflicts but still nothing works agh!!!

Have attached the latest log as stipulated. Would really like to get to the bottom of this as many posts on this forum do not apply to win xp and do like NextPVR but fear I may have to give up on it on this machine. The stick works with the rubbish tuner software that came with it and in ProgDVB so why not in Next?

I thank anyone in advance who maybe able to help me with this problem.

  Shared.dll working with 3.1.1?
Posted by: haverer2 - 2013-10-16, 07:16 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (12)

Hello all, dead quick one...
My channels won't change in xbmc client and I remember this problem being resolved under my previous version b using a shared.dll patch.

My question is whether its ok to used that same .dll with3.1.1 or whether they are incompatible. If not compatible, is there a 3.1.1 fix for the channels not changing without a restart of xbmc? Was going to post this n their forum, but saw a previous post from sub asking to post here.... Can upload logs if required.

Thanks,
John

  clients cancelling recordings.
Posted by: haverer2 - 2013-10-16, 06:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Good Evening all!,
Any one know if this is possible... I have a number of clients connecting to my NextPVR server... they can all schedule recordings, which they can then play back from a shared folder. This works no problem... however it would also be possible for a user on one of the clients to cancel someone else's scheduled recording. Is it possible to set clients to be able to schedule recordings, but not delete anyone else's?

Thanks,
John

  3.1.1, live TV crashing
Posted by: toomanyhandles - 2013-10-16, 12:26 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hi guys-

I moved to 3.1.1 to help with some issues I saw under the earlier release related to liveTV. No comskip or anything else running on liveTV.

-Under 3.1.1, pressing back/exit on the hauppauge remote sometimes locks nextpvr with "please wait", sometimes hitting the back/exit on the remote a second time will exit from whatever loop it is in, and bring me to main menu.

-Under 3.1.1, watching liveTV while a recording is in process will work for a while and then just fail out to main menu. If I try to play the recording, it will get to the same timepoint and then exit back to main menu. No comskip running on liveTV. And comskip won't run from postprocessing.bat so that shouldn't be the issue. : )

The only way I have found out of this liveTV /recording issue is to reboot, cancel the recording, reboot, cancel recording AGAIN (as it still shows red/recording), reboot, and then I can watch liveTV (with no recording being made).

I'll upload logs once my wife gets done watching a program just now, but NextPVR still is not meeting WAF. And I've been running it a year, and can't really rely on it yet : (. Am I the only one?

Win7/ 1600/ no add-ins.

How was GBPVR's support for the 1600? I had the 350 when I was using GBPVR.

Thanks!

Brian.

  No sound in headphones.
Posted by: Chapon - 2013-10-15, 07:35 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I run NPVR 2.6 with an Hauppauge HDPVR and an Aureon 5.1 sound card, wich is connected to my sound system via tosslink. I recently noticed that my recordings had no sound if listened in my headphones, played from whitin NPVR or with windows media player. I don't have this problem if I play recordings made with any other device... or if I play my NPVR files on another computer...

Copy file to Series-Episode.ext with Windows SendTo
Posted by: miken - 2013-10-15, 04:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Targeted copy of a specific file from default naming format to Series-Episode.ext using Windows SendTo.

I set this up using Windows 8 x64, your mileage may vary. Specifically you probably have at least change the path name to NScriptHelper.exe. The path on my system is C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NScriptHelper.exe, yours may be different.

As an alternative to doing mass renames/copies, or to doing a rename/copy triggered by PostProcessing.bat, I set up an easy way to rename/copy a specific file with a simple right click.

1) Place this script that I called CopyToSeriesEpisode.bat in a directory. I placed it in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts so that it could be used by other NPVR scripts, but for these purposes it could go anywhere.

Code:
@echo off set subtitle= set title= set filepath=%~dp1 set fileext=%~x1 set source=%~f1 set sourcefn=%~n1 set sourcepath=%filepath% set destpath=%filepath% FOR /F "tokens=*" %%i in ('C:\"Program Files (x86)"\NPVR\NScriptHelper.exe -title "%source%"') do SET title=%%i FOR /F "tokens=*" %%i in ('C:\"Program Files (x86)"\NPVR\NScriptHelper.exe -subtitle "%source%"') do SET subtitle=%%i set title=%title:?=-% set title=%title:/=-% set title=%title:\=-% set title=%title::=-% set title=%title:&=-% set subtitle=%subtitle:?=-% set subtitle=%subtitle:/=-% set subtitle=%subtitle:\=-% set subtitle=%subtitle::=-% set subtitle=%subtitle:&=-% set destfn=%title%-%subtitle%%fileext% set dest=%filepath%%destfn% echo ----------------------------------------------- echo source path is %sourcepath% echo source file is %sourcefn% echo fileext is %fileext% echo series is %title% echo episode is %subtitle% echo dest path is %destpath% echo dest file is %destfn% echo ----------------------------------------------- echo. echo copying %sourcefn% to %destfn% copy "%source%" "%dest%"

2) Navigate to that directory, right click on this batch file and select "Create Shortcut". This will create a shortcut file called "CopyToSeriesEpisode - Shortcut".

3) Rename this shortcut file to whatever is meaningful to you. I renamed it to "CopyToSeriesEpisode NPVR script".

4) Find your Windows SendTo folder and move the shortcut to that folder. On my system it is C:\Users\((your user name))\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo .

5) Now navigate to your NPVR recording directories and right click a recorded file. Select Send To and then CopyToSeriesEpisode NPVR script. The file is copied to the same directory as the source.

I use mc2xml for my EPG and it apparently includes subtitle information. I suppose it is possible your EPG does not include subtitle info depending upon the source. But you should be able to modify this to suit your needs.

Thanks to johnsonx42 and others for their example scripts using NScriptHelper.

As a follow-up question, is there an up to date doc on NScriptHelper somewhere? I saw a post a few days ago where sub intimated that another option was going to be added, I think it was date related. I'm wondering what other options exist for NScriptHelper.

First of all,
This is my first post here, and I wanna thanks all the people who worked on NPVR and on this forum.

Here is my problems.
I just changed today my Tv Tuner to a AverTv Volar HD.
I was able to scan and find channels, but when I want to start service, I have this error box:
