  Getting a grey screen
Posted by: Highwayman - 2013-04-10, 10:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

The sound if good but the video remains a gray color. I tried all the default decoders, then tried LAV and FFDShow ones but no results. Could anyone shed some light on my situation? Here are my logs.

  Schedule Recording Bug in 2.6.2?
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2013-04-10, 03:29 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I was trying to schedule a recording tonight for next Monday between 9-11pm (title Defiance on SyFy channel which is on my analog tuner only). I used SearchLite and TV Guide off the main menu. In each case, it appeared the recording scheduled fine. but there was no trace of it being set in the Recodings menu or in the logs (although the recording eyecatcher showed up in the TVGuide) see BadDefianceLogs.zip.

After some investigation, I noticed I had 2 other recordings scheduled, one between 9-10pm (The Following), the other from 10-11pm (Revolution). Both channels are defined on QAM and Analog tuners. I noticed the Defiance program played again between 11pm-1am, so I tried scheduling in that timeslot, and everything worked fine see GoodDefianceLogs.zip.

Couple questions:

  • Shouldn't NPVR display an error (or at least log an error) if a recording cannot be scheduled?
  • As the exiting two shows were both on QAM and Analog, is there a conflict, or should NPVR accommodate and record 'The Followiing' and 'Revolution' on QAM, and 'Defiance' on analog channels?
Thanks...

  XBMC hangs on channel change
Posted by: sgilani - 2013-04-09, 05:08 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - No Replies

Hi,

Using XBMC 12.1 and NPVR 2.62, I'm unable to successfully change channels. I'm using an HD PVR 2 with HDMI input, which works just fine in NPVR itself.

In XBMC, whenever I try to change channels, I can see from the HD PVR 2's light that it stops recording, starts again, and then stops after a few seconds, and XBMC hangs and eventually says 'this channel cannot be played". I have to restart XBMC to make TV work again.

I'm using the patch to NShared and the new addon posted by sub, along with the 'margro' release linked to by sub.. I had this problem with 12.0, 12.1 stable, and the bundled addons as well. (I uninstalled XBMC completely and rebooted between tries).

Logs attached... hope we can crack this one..
Thanks!

edit: this problem seems to only occur with timeshifting turned on. Is this a known bug?

  No Audio or Video
Posted by: hardy-N - 2013-04-09, 01:29 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have HDHomeRun Prime with Verizon FIOS CableCard. No matter what I try for decoder or renderer, I just can't seem to get the audio and video to show up.

Windows Media Center and VLC can stream the Live TV successfully, but for some reason NextPVR is just not working.

I have attached the log files and I hope one of you guys can help me out with this issue. I am thinking it's network related but I don't even know where to even start with that. Sadly that's where my technical expertise have shortcomings.

My system is running Windows 7 Ultimate, with Windows Firewall and Windows Security Essentials, and GPU is NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti with NVidia driver version 9.18.13.1090.

My ultimate goal is to run NextPVR through my XBMC set up and also (may be) have LAN viewing and recording capabilities.

Please help!!

  Identifying recording conflicts?
Posted by: bgowland - 2013-04-08, 08:02 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

I'm sure I used to know this but can't think of it right now.

What is used for the "Conflicts" view of the Recordings plugin to identify conflicting recordings?

I'm expanding the nDroid Recordings view to include the same views npvr provides and "Conflicts" is the only one I can't work out.

Cheers,
Brian

  happauge colossus recordings
Posted by: abuzein - 2013-04-08, 03:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (38)

Alright so after having so many issues with the happauge hd pvr external usb thing, i went and purchased an internal happauge colossus. i was able to get it up and running pretty quickly, (maybe i should install the showbiz software i am just using the settings from the hdpvr). whats weird is yesterday i tried recording a few shows and it was pretty problamatic, one recording only recorded about 22mbs of film not sure why, but everything through the night and into the morning recorded just fine.... i looked at the logs and personally see nothing. let me know if anyone has any hints and pointers and then i will try to do a few more recordings and see if i can recreate the odd problems.

  CPU / GPU Recommendations
Posted by: reedlabarge - 2013-04-08, 12:17 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I just bought a second computer that I am using to run XBMC / NPRV full time. It has good playback of HD content, however the Live HDTV feed from NPRV is a little choppy. Here are the relevant specs of my computer:

Core 2 Duo 2.66ghz
2 Gig Ram
GeForce GT 610 1GB 64-bit DDR3

I noticed that NPVR system requirements page says, "A more powerful computer (with a faster CPU and better graphics card) is required for playback of high-definition (HD) content. Or if running several processes at the same time, for example, by recording one show while watching another, and then transcoding or running commercial detection processes in the background."

Does anyone have a feel for if my problem is due to hardware that isn't powerful enough? Can it be fixed with a better GPU?

  [REQUEST] Configurable URL base
Posted by: morbo1980 - 2013-04-08, 10:07 AM - Forum: NextPVR Web Console - Replies (6)

Hopefully this is something that won't be hard to implement. I'd like to be able to configure a base URL in the web console so I can set up IIS URL rewrite/reverse proxy on my home server to enable external access through a sub folder without needing to open up another port on my router.

For example locally on my network I would like to be able to access the web console on http://server:8877/npvr/
Then externally I'd be access through https://public.address.com/npvr/

I've already got this set up for sickbeard, sabnzbd, couchpotato and utorrent and it works quite well and in addition I can use built in IIS authentication so I only need a single login for all services. For all of these program's you can configure a "urlbase" (except for utorrent but as it has a fixed base of "gui" I can still work with it). Being able to do this with NextPVR/Wb Console with be great.

Thanks,
Ben

  Channel change question.
Posted by: Bluetick - 2013-04-08, 03:14 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Is there an Ir server program or does NextPVR have the ability to process a channel request via a network request such as "http//ip port/irsendcommand/235" from a remote computer?

Thanks
