  Show/Channel images on client PCs
Posted by: whurlston - 2013-01-10, 08:09 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

sub, since client PCs need access to the server's data folder for the database share, could you have the the client read the server's Media folder for channel/show images?

  Backup channel settings?
Posted by: ttfitz - 2013-01-10, 03:46 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have a DCR-2650 currently setup with my cable provider, and tomorrow I will be switching over to another provider to try out the tv service there, so I will be getting a different cablecard. The channel lineup will be different with this provider, and I would like to backup the current set of channel settings, in case I decide to go back to my original provider.

It appears all this information is in the npvr.db3 file, is this correct? Is there any easy way to backup the information I want, that could be restored at a later time. I'm a programmer, so if necessary I am willing and comfortable going into the database and exporting tables, but it would be useful to know which ones.

Thanks.

Cannot select spdif input when using HDMI input for video on colossus
Posted by: Deanjo - 2013-01-10, 03:25 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I'm having the same problem on both the nPVR and on my newly purchased Capture4ME on my colossus. On both systems I cannot select HDMI video in and use the spdif for audio in. Other applications allow this with the Colossus and it is needed as the source is coming through a DVI-D ---> HDMI and the optical is needed to preserve the AC-3 signal. Can we please get an update that allows selecting the SPDIF for input while using HDMI in for video? Otherwise I just wasted money on the Capture4ME application.

Standard Definition Analog cable on a 16:9 HD TV
Posted by: Dhanu - 2013-01-10, 02:28 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hi,
I installed NextPVR on a desktop connected to a 1080P HDTV and the windows desktop resolution is 1920x1080. When I start NextPVR it's displayed properly on the screen in 1920x1080 resolution.
But when I watch live tv or a recorded show it displays the video in a smaller box with black borders on all sides. I tried all options under 'Video Render' but none of them solved the issue.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks.

  Works on NextPVR, not XBMC
Posted by: WhoDis - 2013-01-10, 12:06 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (35)

NextPVR plays my stations and recordings fine, works perfect. When I try to watch in XBMC though, the video freezes, then fast forwards, freezes, fast forwards, rinse and repeat. Live TV and recordings both do this. I've searched for 2 days and can find no answer. Please help.

Windows 7 64-bit
AMD A4-3400 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.7 GHz
8GB RAM
NextPVR 2.5.9
XBMC 12 Frodo
Both on same computer

  Fios Changing Copy Flags?
Posted by: persim - 2013-01-09, 05:49 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Anyone else with fios notice that their copy flags have changed? I used to be able to record everything except premium cable but now it appears every channel except the locals is either CCI 0x02 or DRM 0x01.

  Installing to another location

If I try to install nprv to d: or e: it fails to start recording service. If I install it to default location then it works. Any fix for this?

  (Unwanted) Subtitles on older recordings?
Posted by: glassvial - 2013-01-08, 05:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Been trying to clean out my old recordings to free up hdd space lately and I'm noticing all of my older recordings (from when I was still running GBPVR, before I migrated to NPVR) all have yellow subtitles all of a sudden. I never had subs enabled in GBPVR, nor do I have subs enabled in NPVR, yet there they are. I also have a friend of mine that still runs GBPVR (yes, I know, old) and apparently several months ago their recordings started having subs as well, totally out of the blue (and again, their sub settings are unchecked as well, they never touched their GBPVR settings just as I haven't touched my NPVR settings). Anybody have any clue as to what's going on here? On NPVR 2.5.9 R1 myself, and Hauppauge cap cards, if it matters.

HD Homerun Configuration Successful but no TV Video Sound
Posted by: greenlantern - 2013-01-08, 05:02 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hello all,

I recently purchased a HD Homerun Dual, and am trying to run NPVR on a computer that is running Windows XP.

I was able to install the HD Homerun included software. At first, the included Quick TV was not working. I installed a codec library, and was then able to view TV in the included Quick TV application.

I then installed NPVR. After following the instructions on the forums here, I was able to configure the application to pick up the channels from the HD Homerun device as well as getting the XMLTV guide data loaded up.

However, I still cannot seem to get the Live TV to work. I saw on the forums the various firewall issues, so I added the exception programs and even completely disabled the firewall temporarily. That did not seem to fix the issue.

I am guessing it is a decoder problem. I've installed a couple different codec packs now, and have tried several different decoders without any luck yet.

I can post the log file if it will help, but at this point there are no errors listed in the log.

When I select Live TV, the application opens up like it is viewing the channel, but nothing is displayed on the screen and there is no audio. I can access the right-click menu, or press ESC to go back to the menu, but nothing else.

Anyone have any tips or ideas that I may be missing?

Thanks for the help.
