NextPVR and XBMC Internet streaming BITRATE
Posted by: Wallaceff - 2013-01-06, 01:23 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (3)

I'm using the last nextpvr with the patches. Also installed XBMC nightly last night to my android phone. I've edit the config.xml file and set allowremotetranscode and allowremotestreaming to true.
So far, I can stream about 2 seconds across the Internet then xbmc either crashes or buffers and then 2 more seconds etc.
Is there a way to reduce the BITRATE to the xbmc client across the net? I can't quite figure what settings. Ideally, would need to make it less than say 96kb/s (not Kbps).
Ideas?

I see where instructions that claim setup for npvr is just a matter of loading add on and enabling. I've got a couple channels working on NPVR live TV & I've got the channel list in xbmc. However when I select a channel in xbmc I see working, buffering & playing messages then nothing. I assume some sort of window should open with live TV at this point? I attached my log.

fatal error CS0040: Unexpected debug information initialization error -- ''

I imagine I have missed something as NPVR works fine.
This has happened since I first installed NPVR and with the latest update of NEWA.

Thanks in advance

  Auto Windows Firewall Exception Option
Posted by: Dodgexander - 2013-01-05, 04:19 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Maybe would be an idea to include making a firewall exception for NEWA's port upon installation or when enabling the web interface in options?

Similar to how uTorrent has one and other programs alike.

  Stuttery streaming over internet
Posted by: ManicsMan - 2013-01-05, 10:31 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi, I have set the following parameter in the config.xml to allow streaming TV over the internet:

<AllowRemoteStreaming>false</AllowRemoteStreaming>

This works fine over a fast network but when attempting to stream to a device in another country, it is quite stuttery (and quite understandably so). I would like to reduce the bitrate or change some settings to enable streaming to be smoother (obviously at reduced quality). I am not sure what setting to apply. Does anyone have any idea where and how I can change these settings.

Thanks,

ManicsMan

  unable to find capture device
Posted by: asr006 - 2013-01-05, 03:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi I have a problem where whenever I try to see live TV, it always says "unable to find capture device". The capture card (Avermedia) is detected and it scans and finds channels. It also does not update the epg. Any help would be appreciated. Logs attached.

  on - demand tv
Posted by: fuzzweed - 2013-01-04, 07:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Sorry for the lazy approach to this, but can anyone summarise the latest state of play regarding integrating (UK) on demand TV into NPVR. I'm particularly thinking iplayer, but other channels and netflix, love film would also be interesting.
If my mums sony TV can do it, I don't see why I cant...Smile
There was an iplayer plugin some time back, but it gradually stopped working as the good old beeb changed things at there end - is this still going?
I currently use npvr pc clients, so I could change to xbmc as a front end fairly easily. i know next to nothing about it, but does this have an iplayer (etc) plugin, and if this was a possible route, what would I loose compared to npvr?

Cannot log in via local lan clients
Posted by: Dodgexander - 2013-01-04, 06:01 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (10)

I have a homegroup/workgroup set up at home, running the newa server on one machine. From the host i can access the web interface fine. From other computers on the network I cannot.

I have tried nameofpc:8866 and ipofpc:8866 to no avail. I have also tried various / including guide1, guide2, logon etc. But none of the computers can access the server.

They can ping/tracert the computer and share files no problem.

How can I troubleshoot this? I have the server running on system and have made firewall exceptions for nrecord.exe and npvr.exe in windows (I only use windows firewall).

On my router I have tried to have a fiddle, but as far as I know, I shouldn't have to change anything for internal access.

Also, I run a utorrent webserver from the same computer without a problem.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot why I can't log in from one of the other pc's?

Problem with XML update of EPG - showing programs from wrong channel
Posted by: fredcheshire - 2013-01-04, 12:55 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I am using DVBGuide to create an XML file for UK Freesat.

For "ITV1 HD", NextPVR is showing the "ITV1 Granada" set of programs. In particular at 18:00 it is showing "Granada Reports" at 18:00 not "London Tonight" as per the xml file.

A screen dump plus the xml is attached.

I have checked the settings and am sure that the "ITV1 HD" channel is set to look for "ITV1 HD" as it should be. I have also cleared the EPG and re-read it in again.

I originally had both "ITV1 HD" channels as the same number, I did wonder if that was confusing it, but changing the number does not make any difference so its not that (any in any case same channel numbers should not be a problem.

Setup is as follows:
NextPVR 2.5.9 including R1 patches.
No NextPVR plug-ins installed.
DVBGuide 0.95Beta (0.96 does not work as the xml version no at the top is rejected by NextPVR).
BlackGold BGT3595 (DVB-T tuners not used, only the two DVB-S ones).
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Any ideas/suggestions gratefully received. I have only been using it for a couple of days, having got so fed up with Windows Media Centre that I have completely abandoned it. So far I am pretty impressed by NextPVR, at least one has a hope of it being reliable.

  time/date notation NEWA

Hey! I'm new to NexPVR (although i used gbpvr for many years) and I have problems with the NEWA.

The tv guide shows am/pm time format and the date shows Friday, January 04, 2013.

Where can I change this?
