  Trailers Plugin Error

I'm getting the following error (from npvr log) from trailers. After the selecting a movie trailer, the screen flashes briefly, then nothing.

First off - happy new year!

Second - is there anyway to export nextpvr settings from one computer to another?

Thank you,

NPVR not working with Hauppauge HP PVR.
Posted by: cyclonegt68 - 2012-12-31, 08:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (42)

Hi,

I've been using Next PVR for several months now with little to no issues. However, today I noticed a few recordings that did not work. As it turns out we cannot record or watch live tv.

What happens is you can see the USB Uirt change the channel on the Sat tuner, but the Hauppauge box does not light up. You just get a black screen in NPVR. I tried different decoders, nothing. Tried re-installing NPVR, reloaded the drivers for the Hauppauge unit as well.

I know the Hauppauge box is working since Total Media Extreme seems to operate the Hauppauge just fine.

I've attached my logs in case anyone is able to help.

  Channel icons will not display
Posted by: typoknig - 2012-12-31, 05:10 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (4)

In the video here (at 2:00) you can see the channel icons next to each channel. Those icons also display in the information panel (at 4:15). I have used zap2xml to generate my xmltv.xml file and get the channel icons as well. In XBMC there is an option "Choose thumbnail", but I don't want to do that for 800 channels.

How do I get the icons to display next to the channels and in the info panel?

  Clients/Extenders Wiki Pages
Posted by: steeb - 2012-12-31, 02:25 AM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (3)

Dear all,

am thinking I may find some time to work on these pages over the next few days.

Currently this page:

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Client.Client

I do not think gives enough info?

I would suggest I moved all the stuff from karyudo's great work on this page:

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Client.XBMC

regards Performance at the bottom of the page to help populate the 1st page given above?

How are feelings from the community on wired over wifi?!

cheers

steeb

  Key press problems
Posted by: imilne - 2012-12-30, 07:51 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (13)

I have two IScreenPlugin implementations.

The first one is displayed - over video - in response to a PLAYBACK_KEYDOWN event, in this case catching F5.

Once active, it's also designed to respond to an F5 (via OnKeyDown), the idea being that you can go from the initial screen to a further screen of details using the same key.

My problem is that the initial (single) press of F5 seems to get passed right through the chain so that only the second screen appears. The first one is being called, but it instantly responds to the F5 and fires up the second one instead.

Bug? Or just me? Big Grin

The plan is supposed to be, press F5 once:

Then again while the above is active:

  Broken laptop cpu-cooler?
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2012-12-30, 07:46 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

I recently changed MB on a laptop wreck (Acer Aspire) and it boots ok but then shuts down shortly after. I can hear the cpu fan speeding up shortly after turning it on and it seems very hot to me. The cooler is mounted on the cpu and chipset using heat conductive silicon paste so it should have good thermal contact and the cooler ribs are not clogged. Could it be that the cooler itself is broken? Laptop coolers are two phase, right? And if the freon or whatever it contains has leaked out it would not be half as efficient, right?

What do you guys think?

Recording list - programme time display
Posted by: r76 - 2012-12-30, 05:53 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I can't be exactly clear about when this happened, but since maybe around the end of November (and I'm not sure if that is something to do with me installing updates or changing settings, as I don't remember), the time displayed in my What's New and Ready Recordings lists has changed.

It used to show the scheduled programme time (and not including the padding I use) e.g. "22:00 - 22:30", but now on newer recordings it shows the total time recorded (including the padding), e.g. "21:54 - 22:38" for the same half-hour slot. The older recordings still look fine. I'm using the broadcast Freeview EPG.

If anyone knows what (I?) changed and how to change it back I'd be most grateful - it is giving us all headaches trying to work out how long the programmes actually are... Many thanks and Merry Christmas all!

  Multiple analog channel stream problem
Posted by: snagglewest - 2012-12-30, 03:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

In the past I was able to open multiple live analog TV streams, now whenever I start a second stream the first stream stops. It doesn't matter if it's on the local machine or a client, nor does it matter if I'm using NPVR, VLC directly or the web interface. I can open multiple HD streams with no problem, it's just the analog channels that have this problem.

I do have <AllowRemoteStreaming> set to true in config.xml and I'm not sure exactly when this started, I haven't tried this in quite some time, probably several versions ago. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Is this something that's changed in the more recent versions or a setting I'm missing somewhere?

  Recording names
Posted by: bassic - 2012-12-30, 06:08 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (40)

I'm running the latest nightly build and my xbmc/npvr setup is working pretty well. One minor thing, xbmc puts extra characters in the file names when I use it to schedule recordings. It adds %XX as per the image below. I don't know if this is an npvr or xbmc issue.

Many thanks for all your efforts sub.
