I am definitely a novice with NextPVR. I found that mc2xml a bit out of date. I have rewritten the page about it. Becoming a full author is too big a mountain for me to climb right now. And I do feel that I am not experienced enough for that role. I would appreciate an expert review, correct, etc. this new writeup and get it into the wiki documentation.

Thanks for writing a great application! I need some help with the latest patched version. (I am running it on Windows 8 pro) I am getting a Null Pointer Exception when I try to manually change the physical channel information using the latest patched version.
My situation. I have two identical ATSC channels with the same program. 11-1, and 19-1. 11-1 is a weaker signal - so I am trying to switch the channel to 19-1. The channel scan only picks up 11-1 for some reason. (I know that 19-1 also exists by using the HD-Homerun tuner setup.) When I try to edit the channel manually by changing physical channel 11-1 to 19-1 - i get a error message that resembles a null pointer exception message. I tried manually changing other channels - same null pointer exception message.
Canceling of a single episode of recurring recording causes that episode to become "unrecordable" when another recurring recording is setup.
1 - Record Season (All episodes on this channel)
2 - Cancel single instance
3 - cancel recurring recording
4 - Redo Record Season (All episodes on this channel)
After performing these steps the episode in step 2 is not scheduled for recording.
I am using the Forum Advanced Search to find all of my posting. I did one search and then added a new posting. After making the posting I checked in the topic and saw the posting there. However when I re-performed the the Advanced Search for my postings, the latest posting did not appear. At the top of the results was the information Search took 0.03 seconds; Generated 45 minutes ago.
Are these searches remembered ? This appears to be the case. How do I force a new search ?
When setting up a recurring recording from the TVGuide, the exact programs that are scheduled is dependent upon the from which episode the setup of the recording is done.
In my testing the program is aired at 3:00 PM Monday-Saturday. I did my testing on Wednesday 7 November, so there are program is to be aired 7-10, 12-17 and 19 November. When I setup the recording on 7 November episode, all of the episodes are recorded. When I setup the recording on the 8 November, the 7 November episode is not scheduled.
I this the expected behavior. I am wondering about the reason for this behavior.
Thank you in advance.
Some notes on the log.
Note following entries :
14:01:22.525 UpdateRecurringRecording(187, 'The Big Valley'):
14:02:09.989 UpdateRecurringRecording(188, 'The Big Valley'):
After a recurring recording has been entered, the description of that recording appears in three places :
Recurring Recordings
Recording Details Popup
NEWA
The recording options are mostly misrepresented incorrect.
The recording options are :
OPT# Record Option
1 Record Once
2 Record Season (New episodes on this channel)
3 Record Season (All episodes on this channel)
4 Record Season (Daily, this time slot)
5 Record Season (Weekly, this time slot)
6 Record Season (Monday-Friday, this time slot)
7 Record Season (Weekends, this timeslot)
8 Record All Episodes, All Channels
On the Recurring Recordings these options are shown as follows :
OPT# Recurring Recordings
2 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Daily
3 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Daily
4 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Daily
5 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time
6 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Week Days
7 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Weekends
8 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Daily
Note that options 2, 3, 4 and 8 are the same. Option 8 does show the channel as any channel. It is the only option that is for all channels.
When the Recording Details Popup is displayed the options are shown as follows :
OPT# Recording Details Popup
2 Record Season (New episodes on this channel)
3 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Daily
4 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Daily
5 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time
6 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Week Days
7 Date Program Start Time - Program End Time Weekends
8 Manual Recording Record Daily Any Channel
Note that option 2 and 3 are the same.
NEWA displays the following :
OPT# NEWA
2 First Run Events Only MO-SU Program Start Time - Program End Time
3 MO-SU Program Start Time - Program End Time
4 MO-SU Program Start Time - Program End Time
5 MO Program Start Time - Program End Time
6 MO-FR Program Start Time - Program End Time
7 SA-SU Program Start Time - Program End Time
8 MO-SU Program Start Time - Program End Time
Note that 3, 4 and 8 are the same. For option 8 NEWA incorrectly displays the first channel in the channel line up.
Where ever recurring recording descriptions are displayed they should be the same. Let me suggest the following :
OPT# Suggestion
2 MO-SU Anytime First Run Events Only
3 MO-SU Anytime
4 MO-SU Timeslot = Timeslot Start Time â Timeslot End Time
5 MO-SU Timeslot = Timeslot Start Time â Timeslot End Time
6 MO-FR Timeslot = Timeslot Start Time â Timeslot End Time
7 SA-SU Timeslot = Timeslot Start Time â Timeslot End Time
8 MO-SU Anytime
I suggest the timeslot rather the program times be used. It more accurately represents how the programs are scheduled. More than one episode can be aired within a timeslot and all of the episodes would be recorded.
[SIZE=2]My daughter has been using GBPVR on fairly old Windows XP hardware (my cast off) with a PVR-350 capture card, Radeon 9600 AGP video card, output on 2nd monitor via VGA to a Panasonic TX50 (1024 x 768 resolution)
I have just installed a Nova S Plus satellite capture card and NEXTPVR but I'm having issues getting full screen playback of the .TS files.
There is always a black bar top and bottom, with "Auto" aspect ratio the video takes up only about 50% of the screen height, with "Remove Letterbox" we get to about 75% of the screen height, with a custom aspect ratio, I can get the image to stretch vertically but still uses no more that 75% of the screen height.
I have tried many combinations of screen resolutions, UI Resolution, and Video Renderer. There was one Video Renderer that gave me full screen video but the video becomes unwatchable, very slow and choppy, not sure but I think it was VMR9 Custom. There is no internet available at the house so I can't easily check the settings and repost.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this sorted?
