Best way to load settings for NPVR?
Posted by: reven - 2012-11-01, 12:24 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

whats the best way to load settings like
- Default post/pre padding
- Recording directories

also for ScheduleHelperFactory.ScheduleRecording() what should I use for RecordingDirectoryId? Only thing I can see it might be is either the path or the name, but what happens when a user changes either of those (or both) to scheduled recordings?

also is there a way to use the "default" post/pre padding when scheduling? so when the user changes these in the config, the scheduled recordings use these new figures (ie determines them at record time) and not have them just use the default when the initially scheduled the recording.

is there any point to use anything other than RecordingQuality.QUALITY_DEFAULT ? any more (i think people use to use this when doing analog recordings in gbpvr....)

cheers

  TV Guide in NEWA
Posted by: itprof - 2012-10-31, 10:32 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hello I am using the TV Guide in NEWA and for some reason it only shows 1 week of listings.
NPVR shows 2 weeks of listings. is there some setting that I am not seeing that will display the full 2 weeks of lisings?

for example if I try to view a listing in NEWA for Saturday Nov 10, it shows nothing but in NPVR it shows the listings.

Thanks.

  MKV & MP4 via NPVR & NMT
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2012-10-31, 02:53 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

For the mkv and mp4 format files does NPVR need to pass control to the NMT or can they be played natively via NPVR and streamed to the NMT?

Index was out of range error
Posted by: jpb - 2012-10-30, 08:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hi,

I first installed NPVR a couple of weeks ago but had a little trouble with importing an xmltv guide, I finally sorted this (but only mapped a couple of channels) and all worked fine.

A few days ago I finally decided to set up all the channels, after doing so I get a .net error:

Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index.

If I then click continue, the NPVR window opens and the same error appears with 'nPVR' as the title of the error.
After this it doesn't seem to matter how many times I click continue, the only thing I can do is use task manager to close npvr.

So far I have tried:
Uninstalling, re-booting & re-installing
Uninstalling, Deleting the tvguide.xml file, re-booting & re-installing

but to no avail!

From what (limited) I saw of NPVR I liked what I saw, so please can anyone give me any ideas about how I can fix this.

I am using Windows7 Pro with an AMD 64 bit processor and 8Gb of ram.

  Season Episode in Guide XML
Posted by: carpeVideo - 2012-10-30, 03:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Sub,

I am planning on having guidePlus insert the season episode numbers in the guide XML. What syntax should the XML tags have so NPVR recognizes them correctly?

Thanks,

CV

  Problems watching HD channel
Posted by: tjalfe - 2012-10-30, 10:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi all,

I'm having some issues watching HD channels i NPVR.

I plan to use XBMC as frontend, but while setting up the backend, i test using the NextPVR as frontend.(Also testing streams with VLC)
I'm using a HDhomerun Dual tuner as my tuner.

I'm having an issue tuning to a specific channel. I have attatched the logfiles, and a screenshot of the channel info. The channel is playing just fine while using tvheadend as backend.
I have been watching the c:\temp folder, and all the channels creates a .ts file in the temp folder, but when trying to play the "broken" channel, no .ts files are created. The even more strange thing is, when i start a recording using the tvguide, a .ts file i created in the Recordings folder, and i plays fine.

I hope someone can help me out.

Windows 8 - MCE Green Button - NPVR Looses Focus
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2012-10-30, 09:48 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I am using windows 8 with Start8 and Rocketdock (set to be always on the bottom) - Nice, how windows 8 should have been Cool

When starting NPVR wirh the MCE remote Green Button it starts full screen in the background - ie under Rocketdock and the Taskbar and only a mouse click will regain focus - pressing the green button doesn't do it. (I have tried with Rocketdock uninstalled - same)

If you start NPVR from a standard shortcut - ie not always on top - in the start menu or desktop or from the startup folder it always has focus.

Any Ideas? or what Logs might shed any light?

Just had a thought after typing this - maybe need to disable ehome?

Video library - album art images do not match file
Posted by: psycik - 2012-10-30, 04:44 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

When scrolling the video library, I notice that album art will stay on the previous picture when scrolling down. Then scrolling back up will update the picture for the item I just left making it wrong again.

Or hitting left will force it to re-render.

It's been an issue for a little while. Currently on the version before 2.5.9.

  hdhomerun recording cutting out
Posted by: dumbledore - 2012-10-30, 04:19 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

i've been seeing this issue for months now, but i haven't been able to figure out how to reliably reproduce it. happens to like 50% of recordings for me now... basically, the recording starts ok, and then partway through just stops saving any additional data to the .ts file. NPVR still shows it as recording, and sometimes it will cut back in (much) later. i checked the hdhomerun config program and it shows tuner has signal lock, leased to the right ip, and full signal quality. the hard drive has plenty of free space, too. i found nothing at all noted in the logs (attached). what could be going wrong? this is getting really frustrating. for the last recording in the log, it stopped saving at around 01:48:00 and resumed at around 03:35:00.

  Bulk Channel Mapping Not Working
Posted by: bordr415 - 2012-10-30, 04:13 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Ok, so after finally figuring out the bulk map feature I am still stumped...

The bulk map will open, I select XMLTV as the source and select the XMLTV Channel from the drop down (thanks sub for the patch). After that it offers to map the remaining channels for me (I'm thinking sweet because 937 channels on 3 tuners over several clients is going to literally take more than 20 hours. The window greys out for about 2-3 seconds then returns to normal with nothing changed. So I think, well maybe I need to change up mc2xml a little and put chan names first. Run the mc2xml again (after deleting the old xml and dat file), answer all the questions in the pop-up box and get a new xml. Look back at the Bulk Channel Remap (have already closed out and re-opened NPVR). See my entry is still there, remove all channels on the device, disable close and restart service and NPVR. Open again and scan channels. Find channels go back to Bulk Channel Re-map screen and same problem 2-3 seconds grey and then when the screen returns, nothing is updated.

Anyone have any suggestions?

On comcast cable using 2x hdhr primes, 2x hdhr, 3x hvr-2250 (client side) and 2x hvr-1600 (phasing out - client side). Without a way to bulk remap this will take forever to program each tuner set and setup each client.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave
