Raspberry Pi build for XBMC Addon v 1.0.1.0 (with timeshift)
Posted by: reven - 2012-10-28, 08:13 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (2)

hi guys,

Heres a build for the 1.0.1.0 version of the xbmc addon for the raspberrypi.

the main feature is timeshifting.

haven't done much testing (had to update my raspbmc to the latest version to get it to work, xbmc pvr api changes) but loading channels is a lot quicker now.

just thought some of you might like a copy of this.

enjoy

NPVR hangs when trying to watch one channel while recording another
Posted by: KR1S - 2012-10-28, 05:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hi

I've only just upgraded from GBPVR to NPVR (2.5.9) in my system that has Hauppauge Nova-T 500.
I've got it mostly working OK, but one problem I'm having is as per the subject line.

I'm running Windows XP on a Duron 1.3GHz with 1G RAM and an ATI Radeon 7200 Graphics card, just using S-Video out to TV.

I've attached the NPVR log and the recording log.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Chris

Avermedia Analog USB DVD Ezmaker C039
Posted by: jetjaguar - 2012-10-28, 05:21 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Would anyone know if the Avermedia Analog USB DVD Ezmaker C039 will work with NPVR? Right now I'm running Linux but having trouble with video drivers and will happily go with Windows if I can record with the hardware I have. I'm a long time GPBVR user anyway.

I don't mean to be obnoxious, but here is the Linux dmesg output concerning this card, in case it helps identify it:

Recordings with pre- and post-roll, ATSC vs. Colossus
Posted by: Karyudo - 2012-10-28, 04:32 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (33)

When I set back-to-back recordings with a minute pre-roll and a minute post-roll on a channel that I get on my single ATSC tuner, the two files come out perfectly: the first show has a minute of the show before it at the start, and a minute of the second show at the end. The second show has a minute of the first show at the start, and a minute of the following show at the end. In other words, there's a minute of airtime that's duplicated in both files -- exactly how I want it.

When I do the same thing on a channel I get on my two cable boxes and feed to a pair of Colossus cards, I get something different (and worse): the first show recording ends hard, just before the end of the show, and the second show recording starts cold, from exactly the point that the previous recording stopped. There's no overlap at all, despite there being two separate tuners and capture cards!

Why the difference? Is there any way to make the Colossus case work the same as the ATSC case? (If I can record two separate channels at the same time with this setup, why aren't the pre- and post-roll times respected?)

  NRecord using 100% CPU
Posted by: Astraeus - 2012-10-27, 11:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hi all,

I've got a bit of an odd problem which I'm trying to track down. At some point, but I've not been able to find a pattern, NRecord will start using 100% CPU and this will never end, so it kills the computer pretty much until I restart it (once it reaches this state, the computer is unusable).

I'm not really sure how to go about debugging this or trying to work out what's causing it, so I'd greatly appreciate any help.

The only clue I've been able to get is looking at the threads of NRecord, and the part that seems to be using 100% is:

hcw_mcmpeg2mux.ax!DLLCanUnloadNow (if the DLL can unload now, why hasn't it unloaded...)

I'm guessing this has something to do with the SoftPVR setup - is that a lost cause now?

Thanks a lot!

Live TV Video blanks out after a second of playing for me with 2.5.9
Posted by: bgrieser - 2012-10-27, 10:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

First thanks for a great product.

I upgraded to 2.5.9 plus the 2.5.9 R1 patches and have run into a problem (which occurred both before and after the patch install). After starting NextPVR and then selecting a Live TV channel, the video displays for just a second and then blanks out. The audio keeps playing. If I up/down arrow + enter, I can tune to a different channel, with audio but no video. If I double-click on the Windows title bar on the window, the NextPVR window expands to full screen and I can see the video in a small box inside the larger window. If I click the box it then fills the window. However, up/down arrowing does not show the other channel names, guide info, etc. like it used to, but I can still use this method to tune to other channels.

This happens when I am using the video renderer EVR. The problem also happens with "Overlay", except that after clicking on the window title bar and getting the smaller video displayed in the larger window, clicking on the smaller video doesn't do anything. The main problem of the video blanking out a second after live TV starts does happen. The other video renderers do not work for me

Attached are my logs and and html file with information about my system.

I have made a screen capture video demonstrating the problem and put it on You Tube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7pzyldcC...e=youtu.be

In the video, when I am showing the behavior with the Overlay renderer, the video didn't get picked up by my screen capture software but I could see it on my system. Also if you notice there is a timestamp in the upper left corner which should correspond to the times in the logs. The run featured in the video is in the file log NPVR.log.1.

Thank you for your help with this.

xbmc on raspbmc restarts when loading channels from NPVR
Posted by: mtisza - 2012-10-27, 07:22 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (6)

So I have raspbmc installed on an rpi, and when I try to enable live TV it attempts to load the channel list from NPVR, and xbmc restarts. I'm not sure what to post here, there is no indication of why (likely it's a crash/segfault). I scoured the logs, and didn't find any of them useful. Since I'm new to all of this, maybe I'm not looking at the right logs.

I did try this with OpenElec, and had the same results. I also tried this on multiple rpis. I have no idea what to do. Please help.

I just downloaded, and installed raspbmc today, so it should be the latest. Also I tried compiling the sub3-xbmc-pvr-addons code, loaded the npvr zip file, and still had the same exact issue.

Thanks,
Miki

  Can't record to mapped drive
Posted by: mtisza - 2012-10-27, 02:13 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi all. This is my first post, and I'm just checking out NextPVR for the first time. I've used sage for years, and need to switch to something else now. My first issue is that it seems that I can only record to a local drive, whereas I need to record to a mapped drive. I have a 8TB NAS with a share dedicated to this NextPVR Instance mapped to "Z:\" , and I can read and write files to that drive manually without any issue (i.e. it shouldn't be a plain permissions issue). When I setup a recording using the snazzy website, I get this error in the logs:

Code:
2012-10-27 09:11:31.992 [DEBUG][7] Unexpected error in GetTargetName: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'Z:\NCIS\'. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at NShared.RecordingService.GetTargetName(ScheduledRecording scheduledRecording) at NShared.RecordingService.WorkerThread()

If I change the recordings to go to a folder on the C:\ drive, it works.

I've attached all my logs zipped, up. Here' my specific setup:
PC: VMware ESXi virtual machine, with 4GB RAM, 8 cores, 64 GB virtual disk.
OS: Windows 7 64-bit freshly installed with all updates
Next PVR: 2.5.9 with the cumulative patches applied (how can I confirm patches are successful?)
Tuner: 1x HDHomeRun Prime with cable card
Source: FIOS
Front-ends: 3x Rapsberry Pi 512MB with OpenElec (not yet functioning right, but that's for another post)

Thanks for any information that could help resolve this.

-Miki
