An Automatic Concatenator for "Continued" Shows
Posted by: jksmurf - 2012-06-09, 11:47 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

My FTA provider very often schedules shows (movies) with a short show in the middle.
This means that they are (have to be) recorded as two separate shows, different title, show image etc.

Would it be possible to add a feature that concatenates shows into one file, based on a keword [Cont'd] in my case?

Thanks

k.

Recording Playback stops with no user input
Posted by: gonzo90017 - 2012-06-09, 10:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I'm playing back a recording on the client. Then suddenly it just stops playing and returns to the recording screen as if I had clicked the ESC key. When this happens I click on the recording again but it doesn't have the "Resume" button. So it doesn't even remember where it left off.
I remember someone else having this same issue but couldn't find the post.

  duplication of epg events
Posted by: odin - 2012-06-09, 10:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

in epg_event, there appears to be some duplication going on for the same channel.

attached is an extract for one channel for today's epg event.

my verrsion is npvr 2.4.3 with all recent patches applied. Is this a known problem?

  Bad Recording Detection
Posted by: railgunner - 2012-06-09, 07:55 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I would like to request a feature to detect bad recordings. I have an HDHomeRun Prime, and occasionally I get the error that nothing was recorded. It would be nice if the software could recognize there was a recording error, and reschedule the recording for later. Alternatively, it could automatically spawn a new tuner recording (if available) to try to catch the remainder of the show.

Client Live TV: "Failed to connect to remote server"
Posted by: cncb - 2012-06-09, 12:35 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

I just rebuilt a client PC and can't get it to play Live TV for some reason. After several seconds NPVR displays this error message: "Failed to connect to remote server". I can play recordings just fine and Live TV worked on the same PC before I replaced the hard drive and reinstalled everything so I'm not sure what I messed up. I have attached the client log.

Is anything called if a recording fails?
Posted by: bgowland - 2012-06-08, 09:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Now there's a cryptic question. Big Grin

What I mean is if a recording fails to start for whatever reason (conflict, failed to tune etc) or even if it's manually cancelled early, would PostProcessing.bat be called? I'm guessing that it won't be but just thought I'd check.

Cheers,
Brian

  Split Programmes
Posted by: jw100 - 2012-06-08, 08:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

UK Freeview EPG has a facility for PVRs to support recording of programmes which are split, usually by a short news bulletin. A PVR supporting this feature will capture both sections even if only one is selected.

The NPVR web Guide appears to support this, but it doesn't work in practice. When I select either the first or second part for recording, both sections are highlighted in the Guide, but only the selected part records. This is a little confusing. More annoyingly, I can't seem to record the second part if the first is already selected; the pop-up window only shows details of the part already set to record. The only way I could make this work was to set a Manual Recording, though I suppose I could have extended the first recording using padding.

Is this a known issue?

Live TV issue when future recordings scheduled
Posted by: tmfox - 2012-06-08, 07:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Apologies if this has already been covered by a patch. I've checked the current list of patches and nothing specific to my issue appears to have already been addressed.

I'm using 2.4.3 and watching a TV channel without any recordings scheduled appears to work just fine. However, whenever I watch a channel with something scheduled to record on any channel linked to any tuner, it will drop out of live tv on a channel linked to my Hauppauge tuner with a message telling me that live tv is no longer available on the tuner (the same message you get when a recording has started).

I've double checked and nothing is scheduled to record at the time that this happens. And when I look at the Device Status my Hauppague tuner appears to be in use and recording to C:\devxxxxxx\null.ts.

If I try and go back to Live tv whilst this is going on I get a "Unable to find available capture device" message.

I think I've included all the logs. My last occurrance should be from 8pm onwards

  Can't play recordings
Posted by: draygo - 2012-06-08, 03:13 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (8)

I believe I got everything setup right. I can hit N-PVR.html from my PCH a-110 and get it running via npvr.cgi. It brings up the nvpr menu just fine. The problem is none of my recordings will play nor can I watch live tv.

Going to recordings -> any recording and try to play it, it just returns to the previous recording listings menu.
Going to Live TV it errors with Unable to find available capture device.

If I just do a network browse (outsite of the npvr app) to a different share on the same media server via smb, I can see my media and play it fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is my output from nmt checker:

  Recording service failure
Posted by: jw100 - 2012-06-08, 02:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

After noticing a couple of recording fails, I realised the service had crashed. Apart from the failed recordings, the web service was not responding. I hope the error info is of some use.
Here is the end of the NRECORD
