  Occassional NullReferenceException Error
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2012-06-13, 01:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I've noticed this for awhile now even with previous versions but could never track the reason down, but on occasion after watching a video I will get a NullReferenceException error when I press the escape key to go back to the main list of movies. I'm currently running nPVR 2.4.3 with patches through #7. Attached is the exception window text. There was nothing in the log files that I could see but I can upload those as well if anyone thinks that would help. Any thoughts on what is happening?

Thanks.

Help with Hauppauge 45 remote programming-force nPVR focus
Posted by: dshoup - 2012-06-13, 01:37 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hi all. I'm making the transition from GBPVR to nPVR. I'm using a new system (Win7 64-bit). I have a Hauppauge 45-key remote and the remote working correctly using the irremote.ini file. For example, I can program play as Play={CTRL}p and it works just as it should. However, I would like some help setting the key commands so that it forces the focus to nPVR (i.e., I can use the remote while the wife is doing something else on the computer and the remote commands will be sent to nPVR and not the program my wife is using). I know of 2 ways that I should be able to do this but neither seems to be working on my new system. I'm hoping that someone smarter than me can point me in the right directionRolleyes

The first way was the only way I was able to do this under GBPVR on my WinXP rig...I used the “run” command to shift the focus back to nPVR. For example PLAY={run(C:\Progra~2\NPVR\NextPVR.exe)}{CTRL}p (I could then also add an {sleep(2)} {alt}{tab} to shift the focus back to the other program that my wife may be using at the time). Because I am using the 64-bit version of windows, nPVR is in the C:\Progra~2\NPVR\ directory rather than C:\Progra~1\NPVR\. I can confirm this is correct because the green power button is set as GRNPOWER={run(C:\Progra~2\NPVR\NextPVR.exe)} and works perfectly to load the program. However, I will point out that if I hit the green power button when nPVR is already loaded, it has no effect. This used to shift the focus to the PVR program when I used this on XP with GBPVR. I suspect if I can figure out why it does not shift the focus to nPVR on the new system, this method would work. However…I’d actually rather the second option (see below)…but at this point I’ll take any suggestions for either option.

The second way I have tried is to use the “findwnd” command. For example PLAY= {findwnd(WindowsForms10.Window.8.app.0.33c0d9d,,)}{SendMsg(32775,131152,0)}. I have used Spy++ and confirmed that nPVR is in fact identified as WindowsForms10.Window.8.app.0.33c0d9d, but this still does nothing. In fact, I have gone so far as to download the sample file from the wiki at http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...moteConfig , but it does not work either (changed directory name for 64-bit windows, but did not change anything else). I would much prefer to ge this second option working as it appears more elegant than the first approach (drives my wife nuts if she is typing something because some of her key strokes end up getting sent to the PVR program before it alt-tabs back to her). However, I was never able to figure this out with GBPVR under WinXP either. Anyone know why this is not working for me? If so, want to teach me the “secret handshake” so I can use it too:o?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I’m uploading my current irremote.ini file in case anyone is curious.

DVB t/c hybrid tuner like to be c version by default.
Posted by: jki - 2012-06-12, 08:35 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I have a new tuner, which is hybrid C/T. But by default, it like to be cable tuner. Unfortunately here is no cable. And Npvr try handle it like cable tuner.
It uses something like USB2875 chip, and emBDA.sys driver from eMPIA Technology. Its own software can use it also T-tuner.
I tried to change its type to dvb-t in Npvr.db3, but it is not enough. Something other trick will needed.

This security fix (for .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1) from Microsoft stops my NRecord from working... Have I missed something?
I am using 2.4.3 with a few of the patches on Vista. Needs system restore to recover.

  Crash on cancelled recording

Here for information is a report of a crash at the end of a recording. If there's a better place to post these, please advise.

The system has attempted to start a recurring recording (OID 987) which had already been cancelled. This coincided with the end of a manual recording. Last entries of NRecord.log:

Long time supporter wanting to come back!
Posted by: mobiusnz - 2012-06-11, 11:44 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I used GB-PVR for years with Analogue tuners with great success. Since the switch to DVB-T HD in New Zealand with the dodgy support for our audio I switched to Windows Media Centre. I was having problems with audio going out of sync and glitches which I didn't have using media center but I'm sorely missing the fantastic Client/Server support in GB-PVR/NPVR. I can watch recordings from the bedroom with media center but I can't view the guide or schedule recordings etc without switching to a browser interface and the one I use is very poor at managing conflicts. I also miss the reliable overlap recording with multiple tuners - I've got this working pretty well on Media Center 7 but no where near as reliable as GB-PVR was for me.

What I'd like to know is how usable the Analogue support is - I need to be able to have one source from a Sky TV set top box to record Sky for the occasional Rugby game and lots of Kids Nick/Disney/Cartoon Network with an IR Sender. I have this working flawlessly on Media Center 7 using two dual tuner Hauppauge DVB-T cards and one dual tuner Hauppauge Digital/Analogue card. I'm using the AV inputs on the second tuner on the hybrid card to capture from the set top box, this drops me to 5 DVB-T tuners when recording sky but thats plenty and with NPVR's support of multiple recordings from the same Frequency would mean I'm flush for tuners.

I'm using a WinTV HVR-2200 PCI-e and 2x WinTV Nova-T-500's (I think they are Nova-T's from memory - they are dual DVB-T with one antenna input)
Running on an i5-3450, 4GB Ram, 320GB SATA2 for O/S and two 500GB SATA3 Seagates in a stripe to increase write performance.

Please give me some advice, I'm missing the features and the great community!

A110 - Main menu seems zoomed in / offset
Posted by: sgilani - 2012-06-10, 11:40 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (7)

Hey,

Long time GBPVR/PVRX2/NPVR user and finally decided to try an extender for the first time. Smile I'm using an A110 and NPVR 2.4.3, and followed the dummies guide. I am able to run NPVR from the html file, and I'm greeted with what looks like a zoomed or improperly offset main menu after about 15 seconds or so, I took a pic to help:

CSI Miami Recordings Always In Spanish
Posted by: ga_mueller - 2012-06-10, 09:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I realize my system is archaic, but this one single problem is really bugging me. One show, and one show only (CSI Miami), always records in Spanish. I'm recording in dvr-ms, and using ffdshow for audio, PDVD9 for video. I see a playback option in Haali splitter to choose a language (but anyway, Haali isn't being used), but I can't find anything in ffdshow. Or maybe it's too late, if the only audio recorded was Spanish. Luckily, I don't particularly like this show (David Caruso is a jerk).

I had a BSOD yesterday and after restarting NPVR will not run. The moment I start the .exe I get a windows popup saying "NextPVR has stopped working":

I've tried reinstalling it, uninstalling it and reinstalling again yet nothing will make the .exe run. Ive also let windows install a stack of updates, which included a service pack, which made no difference. It's win7 x64... Any ideas? The rest of the machine seems fine, everything else seems to run. Anything I can do? Or is it reinstall windows and start from scratch time?? With the Euro's on I'll be extremely unpopular if I dont get it working in time for the Ireland game later!!
