I have been called out from my hiding spot to try and fix an issue that Ultra has been having....
Apparently, new registrations have been failing... I've discovered that during the Ultra registration process, an internet resource it relies on has moved..
So to fix it.. I've been FORCED to look at my code that is close to two years old and release an update.
Unfortunately and fortunately, I've been FORCED to clean up some code, remember what the hell I was doing two years ago... and roll out my update to 2.2. (coming soon - stay tuned)
Can't watch live or recorded tv. When I try to I get an unhandled exception error. I am running the latest version of NPVR as I just downloaded and installed it a few days ago. I am running XP. I have a Hauppauge Wintv HVR 1600 ntsc/atsc/qam combo card. Attached are the last two log files. All help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Lynn
I am a little bit confused with the explanation for guideplus in the wiki.
Here is what I want to do: I have got hundreds of recordings in my recording list. Most of them are episodes of series. Since I do not see an archive function but my harddisk has no more space, I want to move some of the recordings to another harddisk. Therefore I want to rename the recordings of some series with the name of the episode title of each recording, so this title does not get lost (the files plugin did not work out for me).
The wiki for guidelus tells me, that it can rename recordings with the episode title. But I do not understand, how I can tell this utility which recording it shall rename. On the other hand I am forced to give it a guide file and a altered guide file as a parameter. I suppose that I might give the information, which recordings I want to have renamed in the guide file. But I have no idea, how I have to structure the guide file and put the information of recordings to be renamed in this file. Above that I am not quite sure, for what I could use the altered guide file. For the time being I do not want to run guideplus everyday for every recording.
Recurring recordings are not always being added to my schedule after EPG update. Some nights it's OK:

Then my "Pending" list is empty.
Although I've had some problems with EPG, the main Guide seems full. In fact the missing recordings are currently shown Red in the Guide, but they don't appear in Pending. What can I do to make this more reliable? Is there a way to force a reload? When I restart the Recording Service, the log shows the same "Loading" message but without any wake up requests.
Update: After an EPG update, the reload was successful. Now the recordings are in "Pending", but the main Guide doesn't highlight them in Red, though the NEWA Guide highlights them in Orange!
When I try to watch live TV I get the following error message:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
A lot of times I missed a recording and what to view the details of it, or possibly set it up to record in the future, but in the guide the data expires immediately. Or maybe I missed setting up a recording and just want to queue it up so that next time it airs, it records.
It would be nice to retain that information for a while longer if possible. Maybe for a day or until the guide updates? Or keep it all going back as long as the guide has data until it gets wiped out and updated?
I have issues with certain DVB-S channels. All Sony Channels in UK.
Now I am not sure if I should be able to get them anyway but they scan as unencrypted with NextPVR but when trying to watch them I get an unhandled exception error and have to force NextPVR to close....
Fairly quick questions, which channel changers are good (and small), i thought the Hauppauge HVR2250 have one or is that a receiver on the card?
I am looking for something physically quite small, something i can just stick over the front of the Sat receiver would be nice, i know of the USBART box, however this looks kinda large.
My server is in a Cabinet (32U computer rack) and doesnât really have space for boxes, the Sat receivers will create a problem, however would like to look at a few of them.
Also i assume i would set up the program / settings devices page for âchannel changerâ part of NPVR channel guide setup?

Hi
I am not sure if this is possible, however when importing a guide, you get all the generic channel listings, 30-50% of which cant be viewed as you don’t subscribe to that channel, however when browsing the online guide you have to remember which ones you don’t have.
I notice on Shaw Direct (as i now have, moved from Rogers (who told me i should sue them)) any channels i cant get is grey in color in the listings.
Is there a way of doing this in NPVR so the channel shows but it can’t be selected to watch, would make mapping a lot easier and less hassle when you subscribe to s channel, would just need to remove the "tick" next to "do not use" in the guide listing in the setup.
