  MVP Sound Issues
Posted by: jathef - 2012-04-15, 11:08 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

I am using several MVPs (with MVPCDongle) with NextPVR 2.4.3 and all recorded shows have issues with sound/voices not lining up with the video. These are all recordings from a QAM video source using a Hauppauge tuner. I have attached the config file which also includes config.xlm. Any ideas what is causing this and how I can fix?

Thanks!

channels from disabled device show up in tv listing
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2012-04-15, 06:16 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have 3 devices: 2 HD HomeRun, and 1 Hauppauge HVR-1250. The 2 HD HomeRun entries are enabled and the Hauppauge HVR-1250 (shows up as WinTV 885) is disabled. I had an antenna connected to the Hauppauge and it found 15 channels. I moved the antenna to the HD HomeRun and they find 10 channels (all found in the Hauppauge's 15 channels). When I select TV Listings (the plugin), it shows me channel data from a disabled device.

Is this a NextPVR bug, or a TV Listings plugin bug?

Black Screen on LiveTV for WHS 2011 Box
Posted by: ColdLife - 2012-04-14, 09:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have been trying to get NextPVR on my Windows Home Server 2011 box going. I am using an HDHomeRun as the tuner. I've been able to scan the channels on it from NextPVR as well as pull the over the air EPG information from it. I have yet to be able to get it so that I can watch LiveTV or record for that matter. I have gone through all the video rendering and decoder options that are available to with no luck. I'm at a loss as to where else to turn. The PC is an E-350 APU. So it should have the graphical umph to handle it. I've been able to install SageTV on it and get it to play and record, but do to not being able to buy a liscence since google took it over I am looking for another PVR program. I've attached my log files for any help that they may be. I've not noticed anything in them to note, but I'm unfamilliar with NextPVR. Any help would be greatly apprectiated.

  Recordings: Is it possible...
Posted by: _Iz- - 2012-04-14, 06:20 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

NPvr gets tv show data (title, show summary, etc...) from the tv listings and saves it in it's own database. When you choose the show in Npvr you can see this info. One of my clients uses xbmc and can't access this info and because of the file naming format can't scrape it either.

Is it possible to have Npvr write this info to a file and save it with the recording so it can be accessed by xbmc?

Failing to login with NEWA 1.25
Posted by: kevbotheone - 2012-04-14, 03:37 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (1)

I was having a problem logging in to the 'Config' area when I installed NEWA 1.25. When I pressed the 'Log In' button from the Login page, it wouldn't do anything. The logs indicated that the sha1-min.js file was missing. I looked further and saw that I did not have that file with NEWA 1.25. This file was attempting to be loaded by NEWA_CSSMasterPage.master, where the file NEWA_CSSMasterPage5.master did not try to load the missing file. So, I changed NEWA_CSSMasterPage.master by uncommenting "public/md5.js" and commenting out "public/sha1-min.js" & "public/sha256-min.js". Now I can log in to the 'Config' area and apply my settings. Are other people having this problem or did my install do crazy?

Did the EPG update kill off my in progress recording?
Posted by: gEd - 2012-04-14, 01:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

recording formula 1 qualifying 06:00-08:30.
Discovered recording was only 1hr long (luckily they repeated it at 13:00)
07:00am is when my EPG update kicks off so I suspect that it is somehow responsible for the termination of the recording.

This looked a bit suspicious 2012-04-14 07:02:07.940 [DEBUG][4] Frequency has changed, so stopping recording from previous frequency. (Handle 6)

log attached

Any ideas?

  Analogue Video Capture
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2012-04-14, 01:35 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Some weeks ago I posted a problem as I was unable to get NextPVR to add a channel for the video input on old analogue AvMedia TV card under XP. I got it working on another old XP client and transferred several VHS recordings to NextPVR but I actually used Cyberlink Power Director as it was easier when working with a VCR as it has a monitor display.

I have now transferred the card to my Vista NextPVR server where I want to record occasional programmes from my DVB-C box. I was surprised that Vista had a driver for the card and was able to make test recording using Power Director 7. I then set up NextPVR to record from the card video input. The problem is that when feeding 16:9 video into the card NextPVR records it as 5:4 aspect ratio at 30fps according to Media Info. So when played back on NextPVR or VLC there is a large black gap at either edge of the display and everyone looks very thin. By comparison recordings made using Power Director with settings as close as possible to NPVR the aspect ratio is 4:3 at 25fps.

Is this likely to be a problem with the old capture card which may not be able to recognise 16:9 video? The old version of Power Director I have displays the 16:9 video as 4:3 in the preview window and there does not seem to be a setting to change.

Wild timeline on client whith Timing.info in sepatare file
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2012-04-14, 12:57 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Does anyone else see problems playing a recording on a pc client when the timing info is in a separate file? If I play the recording via Videos it plays just fine, and if I then resume the same recording in Recordings the timeline looks fine.

I'll post logs when I get around to make a clean set of logs.

Any idea what's causing this error? It's from local host to get the error code.

  No news is good news

Been so busy I've hardly had time to read this forum. However, I wanted to say that NPVR has run perfect on 2 machines. With all the prime time I record (and can't seem to find time to watch), it's reassuring to know that it hasn't missed a beat.
I guess I've been taking NPVR for granted so I wanted to say how thankful I am for all the hard work sub does and the help of many in this forum. I will continue my regular, twice a year donations. It's worth every more than I donate.
