I can't get java applets to run - for example, the Java Test on the java website fails immediately. It's a 64 bit Win7 Sp1 machine with all service applied and I've tried both the 32 and 64 bit versions of IE9. It seems to install OK and the Control Panel applet works fine.

I've switched on and off: Windows Firewall, AntiVirus, ActiveX filtering, Compatibilty Mode, Uncle Tom Cobley and All.

I've screwed something up... Anyone got any ideas?

Not sure if anyone else has reported this, and I have no logs as it was last night, and my new machine suspends/wakes up and overwrote the logs.

So not on the latest mvpmcx2, I'll update that first, but was watching on PCH via my plex plugin an AVI file. After about 10 mins the "Could not play" message came up. Tried another episode and got the same thing.

Exited npvr and used PCH interface, and played the episode all the way through.

Is there something that could send a stop command to the PCH? or would this just be a network issue? Any ideas on cause?

Before the rebuild the PCH was running fine.

I'm picking it's a video card/windows issue.

Had to rebuild my machine and went for AMD FM1 x4 A8-3870 Llano, Gigabyte GA-A75-D3H - this combination makes an AMD ATI 6550 video card connected to my tv with HDMI.

If npVR is full screen, and I switch the HDMI to another device, or back to the regular tv, when I return, windows is still full screen, but npbr seems to have dropped to 1024x768 (I'd guess) resolution. I have to Alt-Enter (to restore), Alt-Enter to get it back to full screen.

Has anyone else seem this?

I have taken up the struggle with comakip again, but I can't figure out how the comskip start and end offset is supposed to do, andcan they have negative values? Is the start offsethow many seconds into a commercial npvr should play before skipping?

Here is what I have done on 3 machines all with the same results.
Windows 7 64 bit Premium. Installed the HDHR software and can scan and view channels from the QUICK TV.
I installed NEXTPVR and added the C:\temp folder and both firewall exceptions.
I then open NEXTPVR and select TVGUIDE choose a random channel and get a please wait which follows a blank/black screen. I've also tested different decoders without any luck.

This happens on all of the computers I have installed it on. On one of the computers, I set up MCE and it was working correctly. I really dislike MCE hence the reason why I'm here. I've been a long time BTV user for about 7 years and think a melding of NEXTPVR and BTV might work out well. Eventually as NEXTPVR matures, I would just be a convert to this platform. Training the family will be another challenge.

This is my first post here, I've done some research, just missing something, not sure.

Was running WMC as a test. Was easy to set up and worked okay. I removed it in favor of NextPRV. I'm having some difficulty getting it set up.

I have seen references to "log files" here on the forum. Where are they located?

For some reason when running the setup within NPVR, under devices, I show 3 tuners. All three are listed as "Enabled". But all three are also listed as "NOT Present" ?? If they are not present, how can they be enabled? Well I guess something isn't correct. Also there are no channels present.

I un-installed Windows Media Center, which was working okay. Then tried to install NPVR. During installing, there are no errors or signs of any problems.

Perhaps someone can point me to some area specifically involving NPVR installing, with HDHR Prime.

Cox Cable says my cable card is still activated.

Running: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, all the required hardware.

My home theater is still running an old (11 years old) Beyond TV HTPC. I've been looking for a BTV replacement mostly because of the lack of cable card support (which I will need as my Cox analog service is soon to go away). When I heard about NPVR working with the HDHR Prime I was pretty excited. But after a few days of frustration, there's still no joy.

Here is an updated NEWA Build 1.25 that contains the HTML 5 compliant jPlayer for Audio and Video player as well the Flash based player Flowplayer for both Audio and Video and a VLC Plugin player (requires VLC installed on the client) for Video.

EDIT (2012-04-14): *You must apply the files in the main 1.25 post in the NEWA support sub-channel after installing the release. *It corrects an issue with logging into NEWA for those using the CSS based screens. *Also included another patch file for a random delete of recordings on CSS Manage Recordings screen.

The HTML 5 jPlayer and Flash based Flowplayer video players are restrictive on what they can play. The files listed within your videos library will be filtered based on what the players can play. The VLC plugin player can play just about anything you throw at it and uses the built in NPVR video file extension filter.

I think the Flowplayer audio player provides the richest user experience as an audio player but the jPlayer HTML 5 player isn't bad either. I didn't include a shot of the jPlayer Audio player since posts are limited to 4 images per post.


Give the release a try and let me know your thoughts or problems you may find or recommendations you may have in improving the overall experience. There has been some limited beta testing of the release.....but I suspect there may be some issues that arise as more people begin using the features. Post any found issues in the NEWA Support sub-forum.


They all show as tabs in NEWA....you can turn off ones you don't like in the Config tab.

Hi,

I'm having a problem when watching in-progress recordings on a PC client. When the program finishes recording, playback stops abruptly on the client, even though it's some way behind and should keep playing for some time. I'm then unable to play the recording at all until I restart the recording service on the server. I was able to reproduce the problem on the first attempt.

I upgraded to the latest version, and applied the four current patches at the weekend. I'm sure that this behaviour wasn't occurring before then.

I'm having problems skipping in-progress recordings on a client pc. I'm not sure if it is a problem on the server pc as I rarely use it to watch tv.

When I start watching the recording it seems that the timeline freezes at the time you start watching the recording. In the attached logs that is around 23 minutes into the recording. Once I passed the 23 minute mark any skip brings me back to the 23 minute mark. If I back out of the recording and start it over again the time line freezes to the new point of entry. Skipping will work again but only until I hit the end of the time line.

I'm running 2.4.3 with all patches.
