  Start initial playback after padding
Posted by: cncb - 2012-03-02, 11:36 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (10)

I have a 1-minute padding at the beginning of most of my recordings just in case. I like the way SageTV handles this: playback begins at the original "start" of the show (after the padding) and this is considered "0:00" so that in most cases I don't have to skip forward to find the beginning of the show. Ok, so I realize this sounds kind of lazy on my part but it still would be nice to have.

  No tuner available
Posted by: stustunz - 2012-03-02, 10:35 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

I have 2 tuners dvb-s NZ
One does canwest the other does tvnz each one is limited to its stations, completely separate line up
dvb/epg
all was fine but decided to update to 2.3.6

Now it wont let me record off both tuners at the same time

ie i can start a recording on tv1 but cant start a recording tv3 at same time
if i cancel tv1 recording will work on tv3 and vise versa
they record on the correct tuners just not at the same time

logs are coming

i can watch live tv even just not record
I know nothing but it seems the logic is wrong

Any way to improve skipping performance with .ts files?
Posted by: cncb - 2012-03-02, 10:03 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (27)

The A-110 is a little slow to react when trying to skip ahead/back and sometimes only seems to skip a few seconds instead of the 28 seconds it is supposed to. This is with .ts (ATSC) files. Is there any way to improve this? Will the new skipping patch for NPVR have any affect on this? Thanks.

  RT_FilmFix update
Posted by: bgowland - 2012-03-01, 07:45 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

I've updated the RT_FilmFix utility to cope with missing XML data on the RT site.

The update is available from post #1 of this thread.

Cheers,
Brian

  UK Freesat Tuning Information
Posted by: imilne - 2012-03-01, 07:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (95)

Updated 19th December 2015

Assuming I've not missed anything, attached is a fully up-to-date tuning file for *all* of the Freesat channels available via satellite at 28.2 degrees in the UK. It includes transponders for regional variations, radio stations, and all of the DVB-S2 high-definition stuff too. It also includes any transponders that hold free-to-air versions of Freeview channels (eg Pick TV, Sky News) that are not part of the Freesat EPG.

To use: unzip the attached file into either C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-S (Windows Vista and later) or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-S (XP and earlier).

  Missing Freesat channels
Posted by: R1Dave - 2012-03-01, 05:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

i've recently installed a DVB-S2 card (Blackgold) to run along side my existing DVB-T card. all is working well but i am missing quite a few channels and i don't know why. Examples include Men and Motors, True Movies, Movies for Men and most of the music Channels.

My dish was installed by Sky and has been used with a sky box for a number of years trouble-free so should have a good signal.

i used the Freeview setting when i tuned it and backed-out DVBFix just in case. any ideas? logs attached.

  DVD Controls stop working
Posted by: R1Dave - 2012-03-01, 01:28 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I've been through a period of trying to get various things working together - DVB-T TV, DVB-S2 TV, new 5.1 sound card, lots of ripped videos and DVD. The main challenge has been getting the 5.1 sound for movies etc through an SPDIF lead while keeping all other sound sources working.

Anyway, I'm there on that one now thanks to a few people on here. BUT, I still have one problem to resolve. When i play a DVD, everything is fine but after a while, the controls stop working. I can't pause, FF, RW etc. i was just after some pointers? Is it likely to be the decoder? Or could it be the DVD navigator (don't know how to change it or check it). Or something else?

NRECORD Process Makes Computer Slow On Cold Boot & Reboot
Posted by: BTJustice - 2012-03-01, 07:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (18)

I was trying to figure out why my "System Idle Process" was so high as the hard drive light on my computer is constantly on for about 20+ minutes after a cold boot and a reboot.

I came across this link...

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Foru...835243c9d9

One of the replies said to look a the next process (I assumed sorted by CPU usage).

What was #2? NRECORD.EXE so I ended it by using "Stop NPVR Service" and my hard drive light settled down.

What is NPVR doing after a boot or reboot that requires so many resources for so long of a time? Is it trying to reload the EPG or something?

  nDroid v1.8.1 released
Posted by: bgowland - 2012-02-29, 11:06 PM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (22)

I've just uploaded v1.8.1 of the nDroid app to the Android Market and v1.8.1 of the nDroid service installer to the nDroid wiki page.

Please install the new nDroid service before installing the nDroid app. Remember to stop the service before running the installer.

Changes...

Quote:2012-02-29 - v1.8.1

nDroid app:
  • Moved settings / maintenance control to a new Settings preference screen.
  • Added Videos and Music menu options.
  • Added small pop-up messages to acknowledge a record/cancel request
  • Added duration to guide details dialog

nDroidService:
  • Fixed a couple of bugs which would prevent the service / listener from recovering after a wake from standby / hibernate.
