Lines of text in TV Recordings list items
Posted by: Graham - 2012-02-27, 02:07 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (2)

I have just moved from PVRX2 to NPVR. The PVRX2 version of TVRecordings had two lines of text in each list item and five items per screen.

The latest version (3.6 beta) has three lines of text per item and five items per screen. It is the "2 recordings" that has moved from the right of the screen to a new line on the left of the screen.

I have looked at the skin file but it is too complicated for me and I have the headache to prove it. Is there a way to go back to two lines per item?

Thank you. Graham.

  Raw photo support
Posted by: phil.from.aus - 2012-02-27, 01:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

My new camera does raw photos, which look amazing in 1080p but npvr photo browser can't find them. Are there any options for viewing them that I might try?

  Slow app launch
Posted by: internicht - 2012-02-27, 01:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Anyone know of a way to speed up launch-time?

On my system/s, best case seems to be about 6 secs (usually after the app has already been launched previously), but it can be up to 15-20 secs. This is a long time to wait for live TV, and obviously far beyond the time limit that an impatient woman will wait before pressing further buttons on the remote.

I don't think it's anything specific to the (Nebula) TV card, as AltDVB goes from zero to moving pictures in about 3-4 secs (maybe 5 if it hasn't previously launched), and I'm pretty sure the original Nebula software was quicker than that.

NPVR Client (WinXPe) Live TV Blank Screen
Posted by: hollow5555 - 2012-02-27, 04:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have set up an NPVR client (server and client are both latest version). I have installed all of the pre-reqs on the client and installed ffdshow and set that as the default decoder wherever it's an option. The client is running Windows XP (actually Windows Embedded Standard 09, but it's basically XP-lite. I work for a thin client company and find all sorts of uses for these gadgets!). No matter what I set as the default video decoder, though, I get a blank screen when playing anything from the server. I know the server works fine, as I use it daily and everything is fine. I also have another thin client NPVR client (running Windows 7 Embedded) with the same software installed and it works fine. The XP embedded device, though will not show the streamed video. I've tried every video decoder option.

I've attached a zip of the log directory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  System.AccessViolationException
Posted by: ottoguy - 2012-02-27, 03:49 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Watching tv tonight and I have gotten a System.AccessViolationException error 2 times and it crashes npvr. NPVR has crashed more than 2 times tonight, but I see the same error 2 times. I have attached the logs. Not sure if it's a pvr problem or something else? We have been watching one channel the whole time in livetv mode. I'm running windows 7 if that helps.

  Wake from sleep

I recollect some talk about a wake event for a scheduled recording. Am I correct? If so, could I get some direction?

  HVR-1600 QAM Issue
Posted by: HolyDiverUSA - 2012-02-27, 02:37 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Ok I’m very stumped on this whole thing and I’m hoping that someone out there has a solution for me. I’m trying to get the QAM to work on a HVR-1600 but I run into a snag. After doing a fresh install I can run a scan and find several channels that come in clear. But after a reboot of the system when selecting any of the stations I just get a black screen with no audio. Then if I run a scan on my 2nd HVR-1600 card I get no channels showing up. The only way I can get things back is if I do a Uninstall of the drivers and WinTV. But then again after the next reboot its all gone again.
Anyone else run into this my logs are below?

Here’s a quick rundown on my setup.
2gb of ram
Intel Quad Core 2
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
2 HVR-1600
NPVR 2.3.6

over the air digital channel number format
Posted by: tisch006 - 2012-02-26, 11:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi all!
new to NPVR. Used to use GB-PVR but been away for a while. The new install went well with no problems. One question I have is if I can display the over the air channel number assigned to a channel in the EPG? It seems the NPVR assigns channel number and I haven't been able to replace with the digital format"XX.XX".

I didn't think my log would be helpful since this is a general "how-to" question but let me know if you think it will be helpful.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

  XmlException: Unexpected error parsing EPGEvent
Posted by: buribu - 2012-02-26, 10:10 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hello Sub,

first, many thanks for version 2.3.6, for me, it's much more stable than the last.

Now I'm using version 2.3.6 with Patch R1 and have the following problem:

Code:
2012-02-26 19:25:25.160 [ERROR][1] Unexpected error parsing EPGEvent xml: System.Xml.XmlException: Beim Analysieren von 'EntityName' ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Zeile 13, Position 19. bei System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Exception e) bei System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(String res, String arg) bei System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(String res) bei System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseEntityName() bei System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseEntityReference() bei System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Read() bei System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadNode(Boolean skipOverWhitespace) bei System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadDocSequence(XmlDocument parentDoc) bei System.Xml.XmlLoader.Load(XmlDocument doc, XmlReader reader, Boolean preserveWhitespace) bei System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(XmlReader reader) bei System.Xml.XmlDocument.LoadXml(String xml) bei NUtility.EPGEvent.Parse(String xml) 2012-02-26 19:25:25.160 [ERROR][1] xml: <Event> <OID>4903288</OID> <Title>Lindenstraße</Title> <SubTitle>Bittere Lügen</SubTitle> <Description>Familienserie. I see this Exception in NPVR.log while updating EPG-data and had it today when calling

Code:
FOR /F "tokens=*" %%i in ('C:\"Program Files (x86)"\NPVR\NScriptHelper.exe -title "%~f1"') do SET title=%%i

in PostProcessing.bat after a recording.

Any ideas what would cause this? The Patch from here http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.p...284#post431284 didn't fix it.

Many thanks.

  Request: Synchronize client/server live TV
Posted by: jpsa - 2012-02-26, 08:48 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (11)

I appreciate that this may be hard, but it would be nice if live TV could be synchronized between the server and one or more clients. We sometimes both watch the same channel in the same room (with only one set of speakers turned on) and it would be nice if the sound was in sync with the picture for both of us!

Cheers,
John
