I woke up this morning and noticed that one of my HDHR tuner lights were lit but knew I had nothing scheduled to record. I checked and it was still recording a show I did set last night.
I stopped the recording service and it did stop recording but my HDHR tuner is still showing it's in use. I was able to stop the tuner but I don't know why it recorded so long. I did notice last night that for a short while, 2 tuners were recording the same show but I don't see 2 instances of the recording anywhere.
Logs attached.
I am using android x86 in Virtualbox, but NPVR fails to startup when a virtual machine is running.
Would be great if this could be looked into.
Thanks.
I have noticed lately my recordings have not been very good at all, they are very choppy and sometimes do not playback at all. The logs I attached are right after I was recording WIBW channel 13.1 and KSNT channel 27.2. Also, while both channels are recording, if I try and navigate around in the menus or even in the tv listings, nPVR is very slow to respond. After I stop the recordings, everything is back to normal.I have tried different decoders and there is not much of change. Could it be that I am having difficulities with just one channel? Wibw 13.1, seems to give me the most hassel, over all.
I have a feeling that switching to Windows 7 may fix my issues, I just wish I could be sure before I spend that kind of money.
First, let me say I LOVE this plugin, particularly the ability to set a negative padding time - so helpful when sports run over and the schedule gets pushed back.
I think the genre coloring is nice, even though I don't use it much. It would be great, though, if one of the genre choices were "new", so I could easily see what shows were new in a glance.
It would also be nice since the new TV Guide now allows series recordings of only new episodes to have that functionality here, but I don't know exactly how the plugin is coded for this stuff, so I don't know how hard that would be.
When I transcode SOME programs off the PRIME channel I get a letterbox and pillar box combination (black bars all sides). As a quick fix util I get to the root of the problem I thought of adding an new aspect ratio called Zoom1 in config.xml in the 16:9 area.
this is just a suggestion from my experience with npvr. i was having trouble with the rendering setup. i'm running xp and loaded all the requirements from wiki page. the requirement should be .net 3.5 instead of 2.0. when using evr render in xp i found a thread that said i needed .net 3.5. if the wiki requirement stated 3.5 instead of 2.0 i would have saved me some grief at setup.
i'm using my setup primarily as a dvr. i would put the computer in standby while its on live tv. when i come out of standby npvr will only come on at the menu page. i have the setting to start live tv. if i close npvr and restart it, it will go to live tv. is there a way to do this?
where i live ota atsc channels are broadcast in various resolutions. one channel might be 480i or 720p or 1080i. is there any way to make the output resolution to the hdtv the same as the input. if not what do most people use for an output resolution. right now i'm using 720p. it seems that my cpu usage is lower with channels broadcast in 720p and higher with channels broadcast in 1080i.
