I ah ve been playing around with different decoder settings and afer a couple of restarts, now my Avermedia Duet, show up in the devices area for NPvr, but it show it as not present? The reason I was playing with the decoders is, I noticed that if I am recording two shows at once, the computer gets really slow. I attached the logs.
My TV told me to re-scan to get new channels so I would like to do this with NextPVR but I have spent a long time remapping the channels to the correct numbers (as used in the UK).
Will rescanning loose the remapping that I did and if it does is there a way for me to either preserve them or re-apply them afterwards?

I'm thinking of adding something similar to my PlexPlugin. Is this a skin customisation thing, or a plugin thing - and do we have default icons somewhere - I don't think I remember seeing any.

Johnsonx42 has a great quick start guide.
Steeb (especially) and others have spent countless hours to build the wiki pages up to help new users get started (although I noticed that there is nothing on decoders....)
And obviously the folks are here to help people get up and running as quick as possible with any issues.

The main goal I was seeking was finding a way to replace my cable's hd pvr with over the air signals and having a way to record them.
After you read the introductory text, one sees the download link and a jump to the forums at the right of the page. I feel that introduction to the forums/support area should follow some well thought out and written pages describing just what a new and less technically inclined user should do. A step by step approach. There should also be a Help Doc included with the download for people to get started. Help doc could contain some basic info and links to the appropriate npvr's wiki.
I do not consider myself to be a techie nor guru, but it has taken all of prior knowledge learned, and experience to follow this development.

Hi, I know these are controlled via registry keys but can you set these to different values before you install to change the install path and data directory?
When trying to watch a show recorded using my HDHomeRun, I can skip forward/back during about the first 3 or so minutes of the recording. Anywhere past that, if I try to skip forward, the screen goes black and I notice the HDD activity go up dramatically. Eventually it kicks me back to the recordings menu after about a minute. I have been able to watch the recordings from start to end if I don't try to skip forward so it seems the data is there. Previous recordings made using GBPVR from the HDHR work fine so I don't believe this is a decoder issue. I don't have any problem with skipping forward/backward on the recordings from the PVR150. I notice this also happens with Live TV timeshifted on the HDHR. If I skip back more than 3 minutes it plays fine but once i try to skip forward, screen goes back and I'm kicked out.
OS drive died this past Sunday which forced me into a long procrastinated re-installation. It was XP Media Center (I was running GB-PVR), but it was almost 5 years old so I figured I would upgrade to Windows 7.
System has an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI motherboard, which has on-board ATI X1200 video. CPU is an AMD dual-core 2.6GHz (X2 5000+ by their naming convention), 4GB RAM. In the old XP configuration it was connected to a receiver via HDMI and SPDIF. Using GB-PVR, I was able to play files with AC3 audio without issues. I believe I was using AC3filter at the time.
So, same hardware, new OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (It's kind of funny, I didn't like the XP Windows Media Center interface back in 2007 when I built the original machine, and I don't like the one in Windows 7, either). The one hardware change is I have disconnected the SPDIF and am using HDMI for the audio (and video).
It's a clean Win7 install. I downloaded Media Player Classic last night and used it to watch a video w/AC3. I didn't expect to get AC3 audio, but it played in stereo so I was happy. Tonight I installed NextPVR along with SAF 6.0.6. Now, I'm getting no audio at all on the AC3 videos.
Audio/Music Renderer are set to Default. Decoders - MPEG2/H.264 - Disabled, the rest set to LAV Audio Decoder. I am getting analog audio, but not AC3.
Pretty sure I'm missing something (and I did try and search), but if someone can point me in the right direction.
This may be a dumb question, and I apologize if it's posted somewhere (I did look and didn't find anything), but is there an approved "upgrade" method? I'm running an older version (2.1.5... I know, really old), and I was looking to upgrade to the newer versions with the web access capabilities. I was hoping there was a way to upgrade without having to uninstall the current version, install the new one, and then reconfigure everything from scratch because, to be honest, I don't remember all of the little configuration tweaks I made to make it all work.
Anyone know how to keep Win7 64 bit awake to finish a scheduled task? My computer wakes up and 2 minutes later it goes back to sleep without finishing the transcoding.
I've heard about changing the sleep timer or changing the power profile to performance, but I'd like to know if there are other workarounds. Do programs like insomia and caffiene work?

As a self-taught C# programmer, who never used it before creating the original WebRadio plugin for PVRx2 could you explain why it is a bad idea as a self-improvement tool. I probably have lots of bad practices and I do want to improve.
In my code I would say I don't trap 95% of the individual commands that could return an error, I group them, since I try and structure my code with one return per function and many catches with lots of ifs would make it almost unmaintainable. When I do a trap most of the time it is just a Logger.Debug(e.Message) which hardly impacts the program flow. Isn't that really the same as an empty catch? I did adopt my own notation of catch {} on one line to show that it was empty so that I wouldn't accidentally think the following non-indented code was the catch.
In the example I gave http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post430834, both precdeding lines could return exceptions and I really should have been looking for a 404 etc, but ultimately what I am concerned about is the string returned is valid xml, and when the doc.Load(strContent) fails in the next line I do handle that.
