This seems to have crept in with latest patch (#9), when you Alt-Y for the subtitles popup in a DVD, or right-click over the video with the mouse:

It happens with NextPVR.exe dated 26/01/2012, 09:25 (patch #9) but not with one dated 23/01/2012, 09:44 (patch #6). Patches 7 and 8 didn't change NextPVR.
Hi
my old router packed up. NPVR has been working fine for a couple of years. I had everything on Static IP, so my PC where my mvpmc folder was 192.168.1.2. The NMT was 192.168.1.3. The new router only supports 192.168.0.xxx so Ive assigned the PC as 192.168.0.107 and the NMT as 192.168.0.108. But now NPVR won't start on the NMT. Ive tried editing the npvr.cgi file from the mvpmc folder and put the ip of the PC in (right ?). And it wont start via the network browser either (Request cannot be processed). The network itself all seems to work ok.. everything sees everything else from both ends... is there somewhere else I should put in the new IP ? . Also, can't find the logs to post..
Would rather not reinstall as I have a lot of other stuff that will probably break !
Here is the output of the NMTChecker

I've just been playing around with XBMC as a way of accessing iPlayer in a WAF-friendly way (firing it up as a custom task), now that we can't do that in nPVR any more (shame!). One thing really struck me was the ease with which settings can be changed directly from the main app: you start the app and don't have to touch the keyboard again. It's really optimised for the remote, whereas with nPVR we need to revert to the keyboard. Fine if it's a single-user TV/monitor in your bedroom but not ideal for a main room setup where the remote is easily to hand.
I'd like to suggest that the next major release includes configuration in the main app not as a separate dialog box.
My thesis is this: we are moving away from an all-broadcast model towards a world where we will be watching TV from many many sources, including (and especially) streaming video over the Internet.
nPVR, great as it is, only caters for one type of source, the rest is handled (kind of) by plug-ins. I think this needs to change. I believe that if nPVR is not become sidelined, it needs to handle content from the web such as Lovefilm, Netflix, iPlayer, etc. This is something that should be built into the core of the app not a plug-in.
What do you think, people? Can we prevail on sub (and maybe help him in the big development effort required) to make this happen?
Just wanted to say that I think 2.3.6 is the most stable release of nPVR out of the box to date and the fixes and new features are welcome additions. Pausing and then fast-forwarding live TV is working better than ever and I love the highlighting in the EPG among many other things.
So thanks to you and your testers for the best release yet.
I've noticed that when I have several recordings scheduled back-to-back on the same channel that padding gets dropped from the "middle" shows due to the same tuner being used for all the recordings. Is this a bug or has the recording logic changed since GBPVR? GBPVR would switch to a different tuner for each show but NPVR thinks no other tuners are available (2 more are). All the tuners are working as I have no problem recording 3 shows simultaneously across all 3 tuners.
The server has 3 analog tuners, one on a PVR-150 and two on a PVR-500. The EPG's for them are cloned and they all have the same channels configured.
As a test I searched through the EPG yesterday to find four 30-minute shows in a row, then scheduled them to record (Channel 39) At timeline 2012-01-30 12:29 you can see that NPVR thinks there are no other tuners available, even though 2 of the 3 tuners have nothing currently scheduled. The error message "Recording due to start pre-padding, but tuner not available" is listed. Logs attached.
With earlier versions, I had to transcode .ts files to something else, because playing back .ts recordings lost audio sync after minute or so.
jki Wrote:Only way to watch recordings with Npvr, is do some transcoding. If I use PostProcessing.bat to change file format to .avi or .mpeg, audio sync remains ok.
This worked fine, until I made update to 2.3.6. All recordings made after that, audio sync is lost again, even transcoded to .mpg. But funny thing is, now original .ts file playing allmost
well, so audio sync is good enough.
In the video.xml the line <Image name="timelineBar" source="@timelineGraphic" location="15.45,24" size="69.1,24.81" /> mentions timelinegraphic. First, is this graphic the green bar used to show the current position during video playback? Second, if so where can I change the color of the bar/graphic.
Never sure where to post these requests so it ended up here.
sub or any forum mods that can do this...
Well the title says it all (mostly). If I could have a sub-forum in 'Add-ons' for nDroid I'd be grateful. I'd like to be able to create Sticky posts in there too.
