I've installed NPVR on Windows Home Server 2011. I have an HDHomeRun Dual.
I enabled the firewall for nrecord and npvr. When I try scanning channels, I get the following errors in the log (and no channels are discovered, even though I see it locking on some):

Hi, is there a way that I can disable the recording option on clients (running on windows XP) I tried making the recording path read only but this just crashs the system or makes it ver unreliable.
I know there is an option to make the client a TVviewer and not a pvr, but I want all the menus still so I can access music and videos
my tv guide is blank as of last night, midnight end of 2/1/2012. I noticed it last evening when i was scanning the guide for shows to record.
I thought a might have a epg data problem and updated my mc2xml, then i checked my xmltv file and it was loaded with data for over 7 days.
I was searching the forums last night and could not find a similar problem.
I thought i was diw but found my reoccurring recording were showing as pending. and found that i could search guide and find shows in the future.
When i got home from work tonight i tried a forced epg update and still had no listing on the guide, just a channel list and blue screen.
I did find that pvrx2 does show the listings in the guide.
the only changes that i have made in the past 2 weeks was in my channel list due to my available channels being changed by comcast. before that the system has not been changed in over 6 months.
my system is an amd 64x2 4400+, 2 gig ram, 1 pvr500, 1 pvr150ir, irserver for blasting to 1 stb and 2 dta boxes
running xp pro sp2 gbpvr 1.0.16
logs are attached.
I read the documentation, I thought I had it straight, but obviously I am not and I am missing a few steps...
I registered with ScheduleDirect and got my "free" activation.
I have a Hauppauge HDPVR and I am trying to have NextPVR to get some programming guide... so far no good.
I am missing a step. In settings I can see my PVR card - so far so good - but where to you input the ScheduleDirect information?
Do I need to run mc2xml to grab the info from ScheduleDirect? Any ini/xml files to modify? I thought that NextPVR had ScheduleDirect integrated somehow...
I reported problems with the lineup that I was using. There is a more correct lineup I need to use (different name).
I have gone into my SD account, have 2 new lineups added to my SD account (When I first had issue updating NPVR, I added several lineups to SD as a test).
I went to NPVR settings, deleted all channels by selecting all the channels in "Analog recorder settings" for my card, and then deleting them.
I exit back to main NPVR screen by choosing OK all the way back out of the settings feature.
I go back into "Device Setup for the tuner, no channels are there. I hit "import", my SD credentials are there, I hit "import" and.. instead of having the 2 lineups that I now have in my SD account, I still have just the name of the old one. I can import a channel listing set, my credentials are fine, but I can't pick the lineup I need.
Where is the reference to the old lineup coming from in NPVR, and how do I clear and update the lineups that are in the NPVR lineup dropdown?
As GB-PVR slips into to the twilight, I thought it might be worthwhile having notes on the how to completely clean up GB-PVR and also as a guide for those finally taking the plunge. I don't know if this thread is enough or if a wiki page is necessary, regardless here are my thoughts.
- save recording-dump.xml and import into NextPVR
- cancel all recordings to stop wake up
- modify XMLTV scripts for NextPVR
- uninstall GB-PVR from Add/Remove programs
- remove the GB-PVR shortcuts from the start menu
- remove registry keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\devnz or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Wow6432\SOFTWARE\devnz
- uninstall mpeg muxes
- check for your files etc stored in devnz\gbpvr folder
- backup(?) and delete devnz\gbpvr folder
- edit REMOTE.INI to remove GBPVR\PVRx2.exe
- remove GBPVR, and PVRx2 from firewall exclusions for EWA etc.
My Stuff
- Save playlist from devnz\gbpvr\NetRadio for use with WebRadio
NMT
- delete GBPVR.html and GBPVR.cgi from \mvpmc share.
- clean out older (2010) files in mvpmc shared left by NMTInstall
I recently installed the "Programs" plugin to run Nintendo ROMS on my HTPC. I have it set up to launch a program (nestopia.exe) with a file (.nes files). I currently have 26 directories set up to do this (one for each letter of the alphabet), I did it this way because navigating all of the games was taking way to long with one complete directory. So far, this is working great! My only issue is, once I am in the program (nestopia) I can't get back to nPVR. I do not use a mouse or keyboard with my HTPC, only my Hauppauge 45 button remote, and to play the games I am using a USB NES controller. I have tried to configure nestopia to exit using the controller but I can't find a way to do it anywhere (which makes me think it isn't possible) but what I WAS wondering is if there is a way to close the program or even just navigate away from it using my remote.I tried pressing all of the buttons on the remote while in nestopia and I was able to get it to drop down the GUI but I couldn't get it to open any of the menus or close the program itself. I was wondering if I could edit the remote.ini file or something if only just to switch screens back to nPVR.
Thanks

PS not sure if this is the right place to put this post or not.
