I recently installed a fresh copy of Windows XP on a Pentium 4 system and and fully updated it to SP3. I then installed NPVR as the only appliction and a SkyStar2 + BDA driver and all appeared OK initially - apart from a disecq issue, but it did tune ok and produce video and audio. However after a reboot, it now won't tune, crashing straight away with: Unexpected error in scanning form:System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. - please see attached log file.
Also, if I try to view live TV from the menu, it immediately crashes with a popup window saying " Unhandled exception has occured in a component in your application........Index was out of range...."
I've reinstalled NPVR and C++ runtimes several times now, but no difference.
Only about 3 weeks ago I discovered NPVR would play DTS wav files using LAV splitter and audio decoder, so I started ripping my DTS CD's to disc.
NPVR 2.3.6 no longer plays these files with either a wav or dts file extension. They still play fine in graph studio (Lav Splitter - LAV Audio Codec - Default Audio Renderer) I presume its to do with the new music renderer option.
If it is awkward to fix, I will fully understand - vlc was the only program to ply these files previously and I only have about 10 surround sound cd's so no big hardship.
I have two hauppauge tuners both set up and enabled. However NPVR only seems to want to use one. If I schedule a recording on TV 1 and TV2 at the same time it accepts them and uses the one tuner for both recordings. If I then add in a recording on TV3 (different mux) at the same time it says no tuner available even though there is one. This never happened in GBPVR so what have I missed. Does NPVR keep one in reserve for "live" TV or is there a config setting to use all tuners or something.

Done a quick test here using NextPVR 2.3.6 and all was ok. Best thing to do is zip and attach your NPVR.log file.
Just a heads up. After changing my theme to "Blue" in Firefox, I no longer had a Config button on the screen. I deleted the NEWA cookies and refreshed the screen to get back to the default theme for now.

I'm trying to setup Client/Server environment with NextPVR 2.3.6 and having a problem.
On server side I have Hauppauge Colossus connected to Sat. receiver by composite cable. and it works OK.
Yes, it is not fast, is takes 2-3 min for tuning to channel but Video/audio and recording works.
From the client computer and local 1Gb network I can not watch LiveTV and watching recordings is very-very slow.
After tuning to live channel NextPVR will show black screen, after video will blink for a sec. and that is end of the show.
I can play video from recordings but before it will start playing I can make a coffee :-)
I know what you can say codecs, yes, they are identical, exact the same on both computers.
Hint: I can watch Livetv and change channels using VLC player, but it does not have guide so not very useful.
Disabling firewall and antivirus does not help too. Does anyone have any idea what I can solve this?
I'm an IT guy, so please be direct :-)

ps/ also I noticed that kaspersky PURE 2012 does not like NextPVR saying that activity similar to PDM Keylogger.

I'm attempting to install TV Listings for the first time and get an error when I select the "add" button to add a guide. Attached is the error message. The error says it can't find the TV Listings.db3 file. The TV Listings.db3 is in the location H:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\Plugins\TV Listings\TV Listings.db3 Thanks for your help.
Looking for a relatively quick (subjective term) of shifting 1080i to 720p or 1080p at a push.
Something like an ffmpeg command, or handbrake. Ideally i want something that takes minutes, but I suspect this wont be the case.
I'd like to see if I could use an apple tv to play our freeview HD transport streams (h.264 with he-aac-lc audio). I've tried just using xbmc to play them natively and they're really stuttery - however 720p works with no problems.
Can ffmpeg etc take a .ts file and output a .ts or must the output be put in some other type of container?
