Quote:Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is an HDMI feature designed to allow the user to command and control two or more CEC-enabled devices, that are connected through HDMI, by using only one of their remote controls (for example by controlling a television set, set-top box, and DVD player using only the remote control of the TV). CEC also allows for individual CEC-enabled devices to command and control each other without user intervention.
PC graphics cards don't support HDMI-CEC but there is an adaptor available that adds the capability.
OK, so I am a cheap sod, I know this, but is it possible to do what I want?
I have a broken DigitalNow twin USB DVB-T tuner dongle, which will no longer get much in the way of a TV signal - it only finds 3 of the 20 or so channels. However, it comes with a remote control.
There is a small app that runs, presumably to translate the IR commands to something useful.
This all works well in WMC. NPVR just ignores it.
What do I need to do to get NPVR to handle things?
I have tried the wiki, but its not clear with which of the many remotes this is compatible.
Has anyone seen this before? The network connection appears to be dead on my A-110.
1. No lights on CAT5 connector
2. Tried multiple CAT5 cables and multiple ports on switch, tested cable and port with a laptop and it worked.
3. PCH reports a MAC address - does this mean anything?
4. Tried "reset to factory defaults" - no joy.
Can anyone think of anything else I can try? Is there a USB/Ethernet dongle option?
Finally going HD with my system. I have a new server:
HP P7 i5-2400S
6GB RAM
1TB HDD
ATI HD6450
Hauppauge PVR-2250
Hauppauge PVR-1600
Windows 7 Pro
NPVR 2.2.6
MVPMC v3.5.0
and 3 clients
PCH A-110 x2
PCH A-100
I have the basics setup on the server which is functional but I'm sure I will be working at tweaking things.
My issue is this. I have the A-100 working with the server, but not my original A-110. I went to try my new/used A-110 (which I purchased from a friend) but found the Ethernet port on it is dead (separate issue). My original A-110 had been working with my GB-PVR (SD) system before it's untimely death. It sees the share fine, I can navigate to NPVR.htm but after I launch it, it fails to produce the NPVR menu. The screen does flicker a few times and then it returns to the PCH menu. Log files and NMTChecker output are attached.
Is there a "Not yet Watched" sort for recordings.
I would find this more useful than the "last watched"
My "What's New" is only 7 days and so cluttered that I often have to check the volumous "What's Ready" for recordings I haven't seen which have been bumped.
I have tried to setup N-PVR for the last week on Win XP sp3 and Win7-64, both fully updated and it's the same on both. The settings for the device (HDPVR) won't stick, audio always reverts to SPDIF instead of staying on RCA Back, so no sound on Live TV or Recordings. I know there was a thread a while back on this exact same problem but was not resolved.
Any new fix for this problem??
Another problem while I'm here, the tv guide mixes up all the channels when importing form TVGuide.xml from I-xmltv because it numbers the channels 1 through 63 instead of using the real numbers from the xml file. So if I want to record channel 754 it sends 029 to the blaster because the 754 NatGeo is in the name column of N-PVR and 29 is in the number column. How do I change this?
My system is M3A78-EM m/b, AMD Phenom II 965 X4@3.2ghz, 8gb Gskill ripjawsX, ATI HD-4670, 2 WD black 1 tb hdd for recordings and 1 500g seagate for OS and media files, 1 hrv2250 mce kit (only for ATSC input) and 1 HDPVR component hookup to SA-4250hd stb. LG led 42" lcd tv as monitor.
N-PVR with all the patches applied.
The firmware on my newly purchased Egreat connects to MVPMCX2 screen then says "Request cannot be processed". It also cannot recognise new NPVR TS recordings.
The Egreat site firmware update file extracts to a single file "SMC7828.AP" which does not work as a firmware update.
Can I use the PCH 110 update file instead to connect to MVPMCX2?
Current firmware:
50-17-09024-15-EGR-403-074
PCH firmware:
01-17-101217-15-POP-000.bin
SYB8636.nmt
If so,should I install both firmware and the .nmt file?
