  Live TV streaming to android
Posted by: JiiJii - 2012-01-12, 01:43 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (14)

Is there a way to stream live TV to android tablet from NEWA?
I can watch recordings with SMB share, and a clumsy way to watch "live" TV is to start a recording and then watch it with a little delay from SMB share.
I was just wondering if there is a better way to do it.

Nova-s usb x2 cant get both to run together
Posted by: stustunz - 2012-01-12, 05:37 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Trying to get to nova-s usb tuners to run together

plug one in tune stations= all good
plug the one in tune stations= all good

plug both in together with the lnb out connected to the second tuner= no good
scans on both tuners but no stations found
both tuners are seen correct in npvr (tuner and #2)

Are there any tweaks I need to do to make them play nice together on the same LNB

Recording time auto adjusted 5 min earlier when I go update the scheduled task ?
Posted by: superman2012 - 2012-01-11, 11:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hi there.

Noticed NPVR will auto adjust the recording time to 5 min earlier when I go update the scheduled task, why is that so ?

For example :
I set a manual recording from 9.45am to 10.15am.
Then later I go update it for whatever reason(maybe change filename), I noticed the recording time will become 9.40am to 10.10am.
Is it supposed to be in this way?

I'm worried I might miss a bit of recording if I didn't pay attention to adjusted timing.

Thank you !

Best way to transfer NPVR configuration to fresh Windows reinstall?
Posted by: wallacetheweasel - 2012-01-11, 08:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I'm preparing to do a fresh windows (re-)install, and I'm wondering what is the best way to transfer the configuration/channel mappings/recordings database to my fresh NPVR install. I'm currently running NPVR 2.2.6, so the NPVR version won't change. I'm not changing any hardware either.

Here are the possibilities I've considered:
- Install NPVR on the new system, then copy and paste the entire data directory from C:\Users\Public\NPVR from my old install.
- Install NPVR on the new system, and copy over only certain files from my old data directory (npvr.db3, config.xml, others I wouldn't think of...)
- Something else?

Thanks for your advice!

OTA ATSC tuners that work well? (HVR-1600 and 850 get horrible reception!)
Posted by: sgilani - 2012-01-11, 07:49 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

Hey,

Does anyone know of an ATSC tuner for OTA in the U.S. that is good at picking up signal? My LG TV, and even my puny $50 battery-powered TV picks up about 20 channels from my roof antenna with high signal strength, but both my HVR-1600 and HVR-850 pick up just 4! Quite frustrating and makes me wonder if Hauppauge is cutting corners on it's components, which would be sad.

Has anyone had luck with any others?

Nasty digital noise when leaving playback
Posted by: ThomasD - 2012-01-11, 03:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

I have been troubled by a nasty persistent digital noise on my TV when I stop viewing a recording with the Back button.

The TV is connected by HDMI.

However, I discovered that if I Pause or Stop playback before pressing Back, there is no noise.

Being too lazy to press two buttons to exit playback, would it be possible to have the Back button do whatever it is that Pause/Stop does to the audio?

Ceton changes the rules! Could this be the ultimate HTPC replacement? TiVo killer?
Posted by: HarryH3 - 2012-01-11, 02:45 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Just read about this over at http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/10/ceton...-hands-on/

SIX tuners.
Free EPG data.
2TB internal drive.
Built-in BlueRay player.
Online streaming.
Ethernet and MOCA.
Supports extenders.
No fiddling about with decoders, firewalls, etc. Wink

I wonder just how insane the price will be? If priced properly this could put an end to TiVo's "bill you for life" business model.
