FusionHD USB DVB-T no channels found
Posted by: batb0t - 2012-01-01, 12:30 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyones had any joy getting this tuner (or other divco ones) working with 2.2.6 Final?

I'm running a clean Win7 x64 SP1 build, with the latest BDA drivers for the tuner. The NPVR.log (attached) for the scan looks clean to me. Seems like tuning requests aren't being passed through to the device or nothing is being returned...

Any leads on what to try next would be very much appreciated.

nb: I can scan/tune as expected with the original FusionHD software, and signal quality is great.

Thanks in advance

  Blanking out logos
Posted by: imilne - 2012-01-01, 10:11 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

As one example, Channel 4 HD in the UK show a lot of good films, in their original aspect ratio and with 5.1 sound, but then they go and ruin it all by stamping an ugly and distracting 4HD logo on the screen.

Seeing as it's often in the black area of the picture, I was wondering if it would be feasible to write a small plugin that could just paint a black rectangle over this area? I guess, a) is it possible?, b) would a permanent overlay affect other stuff like responding to the keyboard?, and c) would it have to repaint all the time, because that would kill the cpu surely?

Just thought I'd post for comments before I waste any time on it.

  Ripping a DVD library
Posted by: soccerdad - 2012-01-01, 12:52 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (33)

First of all- HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

After years of bypassing many posts on this site with discussions on DVD rips, I am now planning on ripping my library. Now as many know, I am using WMC7 for a lot of my DVR stuff at the moment. Therefore my rips need to work with WMC and be able to stream to an xbox. I am looking for some of your favorite programs and methods for ripping DVDs and converting them to .wtv, .wmv, or .avi files. I am new to ripping but assume that you loose the chapters when you convert to these file types? I have tried using dvdfab to decode the DVD so it can copy it to my drive. I have done it in both .iso format as well as the the individual video_ts files. I am not sure where to go next to get them into a good format. I prefer not to use command line type conversions. I prefer windows type interfaces.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

and

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  MCE compatible remote not working
Posted by: seanw - 2011-12-31, 05:54 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have installed NPVR as an alternative to wmc which is too slow at menu transitions. NPVR only recognises, some of the remote keys. The fast forward, backward, number keys do not work. they work fine in wmc.

Any suggestions as to how I can tell how they are being handled so I can map them to something useful? I have tried intelliremote and th hid diagnostic tool but some of the problem keys do not register a code...

Thanks.

  BlackGold Remote
Posted by: R1Dave - 2011-12-31, 09:20 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I'm thinking about getting the new BlackGold BGT3600 dual tuner and just wondered if there was any way i could use the built in IR receiver with NPVR? I currently have a Nova-T-500 and use the IR on that put I'm currently having problems with it so would rather remove it.

  mvpmcx2p Update 2012-03-25
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-12-31, 02:33 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (11)

McBainUK has been doing a nice job getting the NMT pages on the wiki going and combined with the forthcoming demise of mvpmc.org, it's time to do an update. This version takes a few fixes and patches I have released and attached to forum posts over the past months.

- few checks for changes is stop/stop behaviour in NPVR
- patched to work with the YouTube plugin
- accept tinyurl shortened url's
- "Play All" video would not see stops on on mpeg files
- New feature mvpmcx2 supports mp3 audio file seeking from NextPVR SetPosition() Nothing uses this yet, it is working nicely in the next MusicBox4.

The mvpmcx2 support files will now be available on the wiki http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Client.NMT NMTInstall2 has been updated to get its support file from the wiki too.

  Tv Buffer
Posted by: Dbarne03 - 2011-12-31, 02:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I just installed NPVR on a Windows 7 PC. Updated the channels and everything is looking good. I click on the Live Tv in the GUI and it gives me a message: "Live Tv buffer directory does not exist c:\Temp".

Any thoughts?

How Can I Fix Recurring Recordings?
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2011-12-31, 01:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I ended up doing a rescan of the channels (ATSC) and it now appears that I broke my recurring recordings schedules. If I look at the Recurring Recordings in NPVR, I can see the list there. If I then select one of the items, it will be channel 0 (with the channel name) and the recording time. If I try to Update it, in the upper left, it will have @channelNumberName instead of the actual channel.

I'm guessing the CHANNEL oid is what changed and the recordings were linked to that. So, I figured I would just go and open npvr.db3 and update the data in the RECURRING_RECORDING table but I'm not sure what should be under the match_rules column. All I see is <Rules> in each one. I tried creating a new recurring recording to see the format of the data and it also says <Rules>, but I know that one works.

I currently can't just go into the EPG and re-select the shows because it appears that they are either not showing now or are in re-runs. So, I would like to do this manually if possible.

Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

  Ac3
Posted by: lemming - 2011-12-30, 08:10 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi

I am having skipping issues with sound on NZ HE-AAC. AC3 seems much better, but I have to select it manually every time. Seem to recall being told there was a value in the config which allowed AC3 to be selected as default. I can't see it for looking.... If someone would point the way pls

What are the HE-AAC decoder options ?? would like to sort this as well.... Started off with Monogram, moved to Divx and am now on LAV. Problem is micro stutters in playback which gradually gets worse with time. Lipsync wanders as well. Am getting some grief from the family....

Running NPVR 2.2.6 with R1 patches on Vista...

Cheers Chris
