Having done some research on and off the forum I am very confused. I see a lot or info about controlling tuner/satellite devices from the MCE remote. What I want to do is a little different and I hope someone has some experience to share...
I have a MCE remote and blasters. still using GBPVR, but planning a rebuild and NextPVR in the coming months.
I want to be able to use the blaster as a repeater so I can control my amplifier. i.e. point my amplifier remote at the MCE receiver and have that signal relayed via the blaster to the amplifier unit (which is out of sight)
Can someone help me with a batch file to convert my entire ts files in the npvr recordings directory to mpg and update the recordings database? I'm not good with command lines. I found a postprocessing.bat file for converting after a recording, but I'd like to convert my existing recordings. Thanks!
Had some trouble over the weekend when suddenly my USB Tuner's CQAM Tuner "Failed To Start" And left me with 1 tuner so no simultaneous recordings. Tried uninstalling the device and changing drivers, then updated to latest NPVR. Now I show more tuners than before and I'm wondering if I can delete all devices from NPVR and reinstall the USB Tuner then let NPVR redetect my devices.
I was testing NPVR for a few months (still using GBPVR primarily). I have two tuners. I assiged one to NPVR and one to GBPVR. NPVR was working fine for awhile. But now the recording services keeps stopping. If I stop and restart it will then record for a day or two and then it stops again.

Any ideas, could this have been caused by a plugin I added. I added Weather and searchwiz, tvlistings. I also used to be running xmltvextras, but I comments that out to see if it made a difference and it hasn't.
If you don't know what caused this do you think it worth trying to uninstall and re-install?
I've installed the latest version on my laptop and hooked up a blue ray drive via usb adapter and I can get the blueray playback to work great. However, when I hook up the blueray drive to my htpc in the same usb fashion all that happense when I try to watch the movie is that the screen flickers and it goes back to the main menu. I've tried to compare settings between the two but cant seem to see any difference. Attached are the logs right after I tried to view the movie.
This is probably a simple question, but just wondering how to change the FFMPEG commandline that NPVR uses to transcode non-mpeg video files for the MVP.
It used to be in config.xml and was changeable within the interface, but doesn't seem to be anymore.
The only problem is the audio bitrate seems to be too low - videos play fine to the MVP, but the audio is very low quality, so I was wanting to up it a bit.
Thanks to everyone who made NPVR work with the MVP and for the greatness that is NPVR (sub, mvallevand in particular!). It's great that my ancient technology still seems to work so well even now!

Awhile back I lost the ability to play MPEG and MPEG-2 files in NPVR. Don't ask when, it was a long time ago. I could render MPEG files of any sort just fine in GraphEdit, so I knew I had the necessary splitter installed.
Tonight I finally decided I wanted to fix it, and the only way I could get it to work was to set <ForceMpgGraph> to False in config.xml. The other apparently related setting <MpgUsingSplitter> seems to make no difference.
Why do I have to set <ForceMpgGraph> to False, why does it default to True, and what other consequence does this have?
With <ForceMpgGraph> set to True, the NPVR log shows an incomplete graph when I try play an MPEG, and of course it doesn't play:
Using NPVR with Win7 on a multimedia laptop and a DCR-2650 box. I installed HDhomerun and all the other programs recommended in the forums (.net4, visuall ++). Setup seemed to go fine. Both tuners on the box were found and all channels downloaded. The program is working, but with major bugs:
No sound. I have MPEG1 Audio, AC3 Audio, and AAC Audio decoder set to MS DTV-DVD Audio Decoder. I've tried MPEG1 set to the other two decoders in the dropbox, but no help. I also downloaded the AC3 filter but the browse button next to the AC3 Audio dropbox doesn't do anything, so I can't get it loaded.
Blank Channels. Some scrambled channels come in fine, but others are blank. ESPNHD works, but ESPN2HD does not. ALL of these channels come in fine on WMC so I don't think it's a cable co or "copy freely" issue.
Channel loading problems. When I have the channel list up and click on a channel that I know will work, it never loads properly the first time. I have to pull up the list and click on the same channel again.
I'm having a strange problem with my DCR-2650. Several channels will not get a good signal, and the channels are ones that have a recurring recording. TVLand is one of the channels, that tunes in, plays for about 1 second then freezes. A&E does not tune in at all, and gives message "cannot communicate with recording service", and AMC just gets black screen. All of these channels have, or have had a recurring recording, and are the only ones in the lower SD cable tier that won't tune. All of the upper tier HD channels have no problem.
Recently Comcast switched around all the frequencies, when they dropped all the analog, so I had to rescan and update channels. That broke many of my recurring recordings, so I updated npvr.db3 with the new channel oid's to fix them. Don't know if I broke something.
Could these channels be locked to an incorrect frequency by the recurring recordings? I've deleted them and rescanned them in. Any suggestions?
