I've got an eGreat (PCH compatible without harddisk) working perfectly with NPVR. I operate the device with a Logitech Harmony.
To get some more control using the eGreat as music player (MusicBox plugin) I connected a USB keyboard. The keyboard works fine on the generic interface (without NPVR), but apparently the mvpmc2 trick only passes the cursor keys, etc., but not the alphanumeric keys.
Is there a way to pass all alphanumeric keys through mvpmc to the NPVR interface? So I can choose songs more conveniently in MusicBox?
I have a problem with the Picture library which becomes slow and then unusable, and when i activate the taskmanager i can see a lot of excessive memory usage, for instance when i have started nextpvr it says that it is using 59mb, but after leafing through a few hundred photos the memory usage soars to 800mb, so i'm guessing there's a memory leak somewhere in NPVR (that would also be consistent with the programs behaviour of getting slower).

On another note, is it possible to disable the thumbnail generator thats running in the background? That can also slow things down considerably the first time i view a directory, but it doesn't affect the problem mentioned above.

It's pretty basic, but here is a plugin I've been working on for displaying content from a Plex Media Server (http://plexapp.com) as a backend. This is an
application that scans catalogs and can transcode for android/iphone/AppleTV and other devices (tvs etc) video files from a server.
I've ignored the transcoding part, as NextPVR doesn't need it as our pcs are generally powerfull enough and have all the codecs required to play back most things.
It can support UNC paths (if the server is removed from your NextPVR machine) or use local paths if you Plex Server is the same machine.
It works via NMT - but for this to work I think (mvallevand may have to correct me) it would expect UNC paths.
Also at the moment the only sections types it will display are TV Show, Movies and Home Movies (personal media - that is not checked against IMDB or TVDB - this is where I put my NextPVR recordings). This means at this release photos and music are not supported.
I only wanted a rudimentary Movie database with watched status tracking. Using Plex I was able to do this. As it currently does everything I want, it may not be developed much further....apart from adding multiples servers. Someone else may or may not want to take the music sections and run with those.
To add a UNC path to Plex, under edit a section, add a manual directory instead of navigating to a drive letter.

Hopefully improved watch status processing for NMT devices - it works on the principal of the actual duration your watch it for, rather than pulling it from NextPvr - as it doesn't supply the position.

sorry in advance, I'm sending lots of questions at the moment and I'm sure some of these will have been answered before....but I can't find it ! But I do really appreciate all the help from everybody !
I've got NPVR up and running and it plays live TV and recordings no problem. But I have a number of MPEG2 videos (many created via Videoredo) which I cannot play via "Videos". I just get a black screen and no sound. It will play recordings via "videos" and it will also play DivX so I'm guessing it must be a codec issue but I'm not very good at the codec stuff.
I downloaded and ran "SD Pack 1.0" from DVB Support.net last night. It gave me some more MPEG2 decoders which I have tried but no luck. I've attached my logs and config file.
I hope this isn't a dumb question. I've got an XP server so the nPVR config stuff is all stored in c:\documents and settings\all users etc etc.
Now, to get the client PC to work, this folder has to be shared right so the client can access it. well i can't for the life of me get it to work. I can create a copy in somewhere like C:\temp, share that and it works perfectly. But i cannot get the client to see the share under "documents and settings".
I am using the same user and password on both PC's.
This is obviously a security thing because its user data. Can anybody give me some pointers? And apologies is this is covered somewhere else but i couldn't find anything.
