I would like to be able to record just new / first run / not repeat episodes for a series. This information is supplied in mc2xml guide data from Windows MCE (as well as from Schedules Direct according to Martin). 'smajor' described a way to get this behavior by an option in mc2xml that appends a '*' to the end of titles of new episodes but this is not an ideal way to do it (especially if you want to record new episodes and repeats which would require you to schedule 2 recurring recordings).
What I mean is, all files in the video folder has no "picture" of them, so I wonder if there's an addon that will create a picture from each video
and where that is can be set in... let's say seconds, and the snapshot will be created of one frame (close/near) to the set seconds in the video.
Hope that is clear enough
My laptop wont hibernate itself using the normal windows idle activity. e.g I set it 10mins and it won't hibernate after 10mins (unless I have an HID event, then go idle). So the creates a problem with the system wakes to record as it won't go back to hibernation. To get around this problem I just use a hibernation command at the end of my PostPorcessing.bat file.
However if a recording fails (e.g device not found [becuase by usb fell out]) the PostProcessing.bat is not invoked.
Is there a why that I can get my latop to hibernate or run a batch file if a recording fails for any reason.
When I playback Divx or xvid in NPVR the image really stutters. Sometimes the image comes behind the sound. Thing is, the playback does not go smoothly
DVD - Bluray - recordings, live tv goes fine
Using NPVR 2.2.6 final patches with SAF6 codec on Win7 32bit platform with Corei3 CPU
I'm getting close to having this tweaked in the way I want. Couple remaining questions (kinda related to each other)...
1) Every once in awhile I do something (haven't figured out what it is all the time) that causes me to go back to the main npvr menu BUT what I was watching is still playing and showing in a small window next to the menu. (a) what am I doing that causes that and (b) how do I get back to full screen?
2) When navigating a menu, down in scene selection, I instinctively pushed either the Back/Exit button or the Menu button (I don't remember) thinking it would take me back to main dvd menu...but instead it put me in the mode described in (1) above. I thought I could get back to full screen by selecting DVD again from the npvr menu and while it did go back to DVD it prompted be to resume or restart...I guess I thought it would just go to full screen. (a) is there a button on the remote that can get me back to the main DVD menu (not npvr menu) and (b) same as (1.b) above
Thanks in advance...folks here have been very helpful including the man himself (Sub)!!
It has been a long time using gbpvr and now nextpvr. Nice products.
So i am planing to upgrade my hardware this year. i will run nextpvr on the following hardware:
Zotac ZBox AD02 with this hauppage usb capture card: WinTV HVR-900 and with windows 7 as the os.
I read that some users have problems recording tv shows when the htpc wakes from the standby mode and having and usb capture card.
Is this a common problem?
I'm new to HDTV. Have comcast uber-basic cable (Longmont CO) which gave me channels 2-22 on my old analog box. Hook up my Hauppauge 2250, scan and voila I got a whoppin' 90 channels!!
1) But...when I go into channel mapping most of them show unknown channel...so I don't know how to assign them. I'm using SChedules direct and switch from the "Cable" lineup to the "CableDigital" to get more than channels 2-22. I have watched a few of the Unknown channels and one I saw was ABC Family HD, so I was able to map that one. But not all stations put their little logo on the screen for me to see. Is there a proper way to figure out what these channels are?
2) Some of the known stations I do not see any reference to in my Schedules Direct lineup...ION is one that comes to mind. What do I do with these? Is this normal?
3) The bulk map did not work for me. By default everything was set to DVB/ATSC TV for the EPG. When I set up a channel using the details menu then when to bulk mapping, mapped a channel and it said, would you like for me to try to match by name...I say yes and nothing happens. Perhaps its because so many of them are Unknown? But there were a few where the name was spot on and I was able to match it by hand so not sure why it could auto match??
4) One of the channels I mapped manually now shows program info but its 1 hour off...PC time is set properly but the show that was actually playing was listed as being on 1 hour later. Anyone know what is going wrong?
I have applied the latest cumulative patch (I *think*).
I am using NPVR 2.2.6 and I installed the TV-Listings Plugin 3.5.1 (Yesterday downloaded from the webpage, but where can I check if its realy this version?).
OS is Windows 7 (German)
It seems I have a little problem creating manuelly recordings for weekly recurence. When I use the option 'weekly', the resulting 'pending recordings' are every day in the specified timeslot.
Am I doing something wrong?
Do you need further informations (hardware specs, logfiles or further descriptions...)?
Martin and Sub,
I often opt to use recording instead of livetv for comskip support and the fact that livetv does not skips properly. However, the comskip breaks never get updated unless I stop and restart the recording (also for regular recordings in progress). It would be great if the update happens every minute or so. Thanks in advance.
I'm going to rebuild my PC in the new year. It's got so much stuff on it and i think i have a suspect hard drive. It will then be used almost exclusively for npvr. I currently have a license for XP but i'm just wondering if there is any benefit in me upgrading to Windows 7 at the same time? I'm thinking that it probably isn't worth it but thought it was worth asking because this will be the perfect opportunity.
