Problems with analog channels with Hauppauge HVR-1300
Posted by: superman2012 - 2011-11-29, 04:39 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi.
I have been using GBPVR for years. This is my first time using NPVR(with latest patches).

Windows 7 x64 and Hauppauge HVR-1300

Have tried to record PAL analog channels with it but the recorded files aspect ratio is at 720x576 5:4 instead of 4:3.
And there isn't any sound in the recorded files.

By the way, how can I increase the video bitrate of analog recording?
All my recorded files is at 3000Kbps only which is pretty low.

Can someone help me with my problems?
Thank you very much.

Update EG-M34A with PCH A110 firmware?
Posted by: pz1 - 2011-11-28, 02:34 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (3)

I recently got this Egreat M34A, which I presently use in my summer cottage to play my GBPVR recordings. Unfortunately I can't play some (maybe all) XviD converted recordings. Unfortunately there are no firmware upgrades after the one that was installed on de device.
In my search I came across the following suggestion to upgrade with PCH-A110 firmware: http://egreat-popcorn-media-player-m34a-to-a110/
I have a few questions
1) Is this a sensible thing to do
2) Is it legal
3) What do I loose what do I gain
4) Have others done this successfully in connection with NPVR (I may replace my GBPVR-MVP combo some time)

Recording: pause resume pause play => HANG
Posted by: BlAdEs - 2011-11-28, 12:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi

Lately when I play recordings my NPVR goes hanging when I describe the above.
Only for recordings: I stop and resume, next I pause, I want to continue again but it hangs. I press stop & next resume and it continues, but not on the exact position I left the recording behind. As if the play still continues on the background but the image/sound just doesn't display.

Anybody any idea ?

Thanks

clean up temp folder at startup

I've noticed that my temp folder for livetv gets filled up. I have to delete them manually. Would be nice if NPVR did this automatically.

Any interest in a Spotify Plugin for NextPVR?
Posted by: McBainUK - 2011-11-27, 01:17 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (38)

I'm a big fan of the music streaming service Spotify. Is there any interest in having native, NextPVR plugin for it?

Would be for Premium subscribers only.

Adding an STB to existing setup
Posted by: ram4x4nut - 2011-11-27, 06:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi all,

It's been a long time since I have been on here - just no reason to mess with something that did everything I needed it to do.

That's now changed. I still have my PVR-150 and HVR-1600 cards - so 2 analog and one digital connection, cable direct from the wall.

What I want to do is add the cable company's STB to the svideo input on the PVR-150 and record from the STB to that - and have GBPVR change the channel on the STB to the channel I want to record thru the svideo input.

I've looked at the wiki and I am completely lost. I know that I will need to hook up the cables and such, and use the IR Blaster - but I have no idea what to do from there. Is there anyone out there that can guide me through making this happen? I know I will need a channel changer of some sort, but I really have no clue how to even start. Any threads you can point me to, or write ups on how to do it?

Thanks in advance!

Ram

Need help remapping Channel guide and actual channels
Posted by: divinehammer - 2011-11-27, 05:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have been putting off some maintenance work for quite some time. My cable provider has removed some channels or changed their locations. So now have some holes in my guide where it will give the channel name and then all of the show boxes say "no details". Sometimes this channel has been removed and i need to remove it from my guide. I cannot figure out how to do that. Sometimes the show will work if I watch the channel and the show will be correct but the information in the guide says no details, but for some reason the information on the channel is in a new guide slot at the end like channel 135( I dont get channel 135 in normal cable) If you try to watch that channel 135 you get static. So how do you remap these channels?
I also have other problems where CSPAN used to be on Channel 10 but it is now Channel 18 and FOX has taken the Channel 10 slot. how do I move the channels around so that they match up? I suspect that my guide is just terribly screwed up and I just need to clear it an let it build me another one. How do I do that? I use Schedules Direct if that helps. Thanks for your Replies.

Popbox V8 now available in North America
Posted by: cncb - 2011-11-26, 09:08 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (18)

Looks like the Popbox V8 is now available in North America: http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2011/11/...-s-canada/

So, does it support the existing NPVR "plugin" used with the A-100s or will it take something new? I was hoping it would have the seemingly now "standard" Netflix and Pandora services but I still might try it if it will work with NPVR.
