On a UK Freeview forum I recently complained about spelling mistakes in the EPG meant that I had missed some series recordings. I hadnât mentioned I was using NextPVR and was asked what recorder I was using as most PVRs use the âseries_idâ to locate recordings in a series so spelling mistakes in the title should not matter. Does NextPVR have the ability to use this âseries_idâ instead of the title to identify recordings in a series?
I have been testing NextPVR against Windows Media Center (Windows 7 Pro), I've had a few problems with recordings not stopping (one, 1 hour recording went on for over 8 hours until I stopped it manually) and the PC would not going back to sleep after recordings had been completed. But after installing the latest acumulative patch, and removing Windows media Center all seems to have been resolved.
Now I think this may become my PVR of choice, a few more weeks of testing will confirm that.
My question is that I have installed the TV Listings, SearchLite and the Weather plugin's and in the settings menu deselected the standard TV Guide, Recordings and Search in the plugin's menu now the main menu items menu is in a really confusing order Live TV, Exit, SearchLite, TV Recordings, TV Listings, Weather etc.
Is there any way that I can rearrange the order of the items in this menu?
I have searched long and hard and cannot discover any proceedure.
I'm currently displaying NPVR on an HDTV and using the IR remote to control it. However, I would like to be able to modify the settings using the remote as well. Has anyone figured out any way to access the settings and modify them using the remote?
Anyone working on the NMT or MVP pages on the NextPVR wiki? The MVP page is blank and the NMT page is a little hard to follow
I had a quick look in the NMT sub form and found all of the stickies to be quite old and seem to be GB-PVR focused - is there a NextPVR NMT/MVP resource which people are using that I'm not aware of...?
I am a current SageTV user and have enjoyed it for many years. I have been reading about NextPVR to see if it could be used as a replacement. So far it appears this product is primarily geared towards the EU and not the NA market. Is this true or am I missing something?
I would like to see cable card support and an extender option that could be purchased and used in NA. Maybe Boxee Box could be used as an extender or something similar so Online content could be accessed as well.
I just changed my system from gbpvr version 1.1.5 (I needed it for hardware-decoding on Hauppauge PVR 350) to nextpvr version 2.2.6.
This change was neccesary among other reasons because I have to archive some of my over 940 recordings. Now I am a little bit surprised, that NextPVR does not seem to have an archive-function.
It would be sufficiant for me to store at least the metadata in seperate xml-files. Unfortunatly if I set the flag StoreSeparateMetadataXml in the config.xml to true, NPVR does this only for the new recordings. Is there anyway to store the metadata for the old recordings in xml-files as well?
Anybody else still using VS 2008 Express been prompted that they need to enter a registration key? I last used it just over a month ago without problems but now it won't open until I enter a reg key.
Bloody annoying as I can't remember my Windows Live ID password (which I need to register). I requested a password reset about 10 minutes ago and I'm still waiting for the email. Bah. :mad:
From digitalspy I gather that C4HD has now moved to the new 1N bird at 11127,V,22000. I'm not sure if the existing EB1 version has been turned off (I'm not at home to check), but I guess it will soon if not already, thus a re-tune is needed.
I've not played many mkv files on my PCH but I have 2 that have no audio at all. They play fine on the PC. I think it might be due to the audio being DTS and I'm not sure of the best way to convert the audio to AC3 or something else.
I'd like some suggestions for conversion without any loss of quality to the audio.
