It's also sold under Yuan Expresscard Analog TV Tuner. I bought this and it's working fine with Sagetv but I only have the trial version of Sagetv and apparently one can't buy new licenses. I installed Nextpvr but no devices show up in the device selection area of settings. Thanks for any info on either making my card work with this program or an alternative program to use with XP to record tv shows off analog cable. I would also be happy to use Titantv to set up my schedule for recording.
I did search, and I suppose someone has asked already, but there's 24K threads in this forum alone!
Are there any steps/suggestions to migrate from GB to Next? I'd perfer to keep GB running as I setup and tweak Next and then switch when all meets the W.A.F.?
Can the two recording services/settings/databases co-exist? Can I simply shut down one service while working on the other version, and then switch back by restarting the other service?
Can I just backup the old directory and restore if needed? (I did this during previous updates, but installs were in the same folder.)
I just remember it took a few days to get Closed Captioning working (required) and then tweaking comskip, transcoding and file renaming and pushing to the NAS.
Once all is good, I'll then shutdown (uninstall?) GB, but until then, I'm told I can't miss recording an episode of Criminal Minds. :o
Been using various versions since 2006 but hesitated jumping into the NPVR pool since my 1.4.7 setup was working so well.
My curiosity about NPVR has resurfaced, so before downloading the installer I've a few questions for folks:
- My stored recordings collection is pushing 2TB and I DO NOT want to lose any GB-PVR metadata. Does NPVR provide a GB-PVR database import step? I don't mind having to recreate all my recurring recording entries, although it would be nice if NPVR simply slurped that stuff in, too.
- I am used to manually hacking the GB-PVR database to do things like change recording filenames, change recording descriptions, etc.. Are these data available in NPVR in a similarly-accessible SQLite format?
- I use 3 third party tools fairly regularly, are they available for NPVR as well?
* MpegImport
* Wiz Episode Tweaker
* WizRenameRecording
- Is it possible to run GB-PVR v1.4.7 and NPVR in parallel to compare & contrast?
I have stopped using NEXTPVR because I get up in the morning and the NRecord.exe has activated a channel on the HDHomerun Prime. I have never setup any recordings and seldom used NEXTPVR to actually watch TV. I have noticed this happening on both my Vista and XP notebooks.
Has anyone else seen this?
I will post logs latter after recreating the problems.
This may be a stupid question, but is an internet connection required to watch live tv using this software?
I'm using a wintv HVR 900 usb freeview stick. Its all configured and worked just fine when i was connected to the internet, but when disconnected it says "unable to communicate with recording service"
Does anyone know whats wrong here? the computer isnt always connected to the internet so i dont want to always have to be connected.
Post below with your ideas and suggestions regarding r/c related topics and common remote control setups that could be documented on the Remote Controls wiki page.
Anyone care to help with the wiki page for configuring Analog devices? Please post below if you know what the configuration settings mean and how to use them.[URL="http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Configuration.AnalogueDeviceSetupDialog"]
I am in the process of switching over from GBPVR to NPVR. I almost had every little thing set up the way I want it and I did something stupid. Not sure how to fix it. From the channel screen in the configuration I meant to click "Details" and I accidentally clicked "Delete". The channel promptly disappeared from both of my tuners. I have tried re-scanning and it comes up with a big fat blank screen. How can I get my channel back? I need help. It acts like the channel is still in the database but has been marked with an ignore flag or something. Not sure why when I re-scan I get nothing.
Please help.
I am running the current version of NPVR (2.2.6) and I have an HDHomeRun dual ATSC tuner. I can play the deleted channel from my GBPVR setup and from the HDHomeRun GUI so it should have a signal sufficient to scan it. I don't really want to edit the database directly but it seem my only option barring starting all over. Not sure what to do.
Hi,
I give this for your information:
I am a vivid user of shortcuts and one of the things I have is shortcuts in my documents/pictures and music/videos directories which bring me to me several nas drives that I have;
NextPVR however gives an "unhandled" error when it finds these shortcuts in my home directories and does not even get into the first branch of directories, it simply blocks;
when removing the shortcuts from the home directories it works fine.
Think it (NextPVR) should be able to deal with the presence of these type of links/shortcuts as it works good in VLC and even VMC/MCE.
rgrds,
Poul.
So as an Android Market user, I have access to some basic statistics related to the downloads of my apps. One of these is the default language the device (phone / tablet) is set to use. At the moment I can see 26 active installations with most using English but I've discovered the following (the last figure in brackets is the number of users)...
I thought it would be a nice addition if I gave users text in their native language so I'm looking for translations. Ideally, if you're one of the above using the app, if you could spare the time to go through the various screens and menus and provide translations, I'll include language files ASAP.
Alternatively, I can provide a list of text used and hope that any native speaker of the above languages can help out.
